    • Film shot on Olympus E-m5 mark ii
As always...great work!  Congrats to you, the director-writer, and the crew.  I like the bit about fish-sticks.   Also, that Puzzo guy is a pretty good voice actor.  Does he get a credit as camera-op too? ;-)  I really enjoy the theme of short films I've seen from you here on EOSHD.  The inner dialog narrative stories are a lot of fun.  Good creative opportunities. So...do the Olympus PR guys visit this website!?  When the NX1 came out with their goofy "Yvonne" product film I seem to remember it getting slammed and people here actually said, "Hey, just give Ed a camera and let him do something!" Not sure how you got connected, but glad you did.  It's encouraging to see the potential of the EM5II, regardless of it's limitations.  The fact that you were able to hold down the highlights is nice to see. Also, the camera arm/body rig, did the mount arm go out behind his crotch?  Also, who built it?
    • URSA Mini Getting Terrible Reviews
Picked up my ursa mini 4k yesterday evening and did some test shots. The camera body is built like a tank and the flip out screen is extremely sharp. The user menu is very easy to use and the touch screen is very responsive. As far as the image goes, If it wasn't for the blocky grain, I would love the image. This was just some handheld shots in my living room with only natural light so I know I'm not going to get the best looking images but I didn't expect the grain to look this bad especially at 400 ASA.  If you want more info on the video, I have more info in the video description on vimeo.  I will be shooting more shots this week. I'll keep you posted.
    • Petition for Samsung NX1 hack
If we have the full source code everything is doable as long as the hardware can handle it. I can't go into much detail on a web post but basically we can try changing parameters in the source code, then try it. If it doesn't work, try different values. Rinse and repeat until it works. It also depends on how clean the source code is. If it is well documented, the job would be easier. Downloading it as we speak but from what I've read, it probably contains only the open source components as Samsung is required buy the licensing to release any changes they made to the open source components.

Its come to my attention that no one has posted the Open Source code to the NX1, its a 1.3GB sized .zip file its simply just called NX1.zip, maybe there is something in there to help you guys? http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=T&menu_item=photography&classification1=digital%20cameras
    • Petition for Samsung NX1 hack
Quick google search for "Samsung Tizen firmware camera" brought me to this article http://www.tizenexperts.com/2015/08/samsung-nx1-smart-camera-software-firmware-updated-to-version-v-1-40/    There is a post by a gentleman named Nabil who claims to have made the camera record 6K at 240fps in 'debug' mode. We probably need to contact him.   p.s. I am downloading an NX1.zip file from here:
http://opensource.samsung.com/reception/receptionSub.do?method=sub&sub=T&menu_item=photography&classification1=digital cameras   Not sure if it's the full OS for the NX1.
