1. Hello to everyone, I would love to start shooting anamorphic video with my canon mark iii, and I am thinking to buy an entry level anamorphic lens and the adaptors required. Would you kindly direct me to the right path of anamorphic discovery? Which lens should I start scavenging the internets for..and if you own a mark iii what is the adaptor that works? Is there a topic for Anamorphic lenses for canon i can search; My budget is modest. my anamorphic appettite big. Thank you for your help c.
2. Besides being a regular member, I've already sold more than a few lenses in this forum and in DVXUser. Since I'm from Brazil, eBay isn't a good option for me, and people really don't dig into anamorphics here. Once again, I have more lenses than I can use, and decided to let them go. Check out the description, price and pictures below. I only accept PayPal. Taxes and shipping are my responsibility. :) If interested, send me a PM, or an email! ferradans@gmail.com   1 - Panasonic LA7200 + Custom Front with 105mm thread + Redstan Clamp. (1.33x stretch, focus through) I've modded this one hard, to fit every need. Now I'm moving towards LOMOs and would be sad to let this baby in the locker, gathering dust. I've machined a custom front for it, creating 105mm filter threads for attaching big diopters - which are somewhat hard to come across.   The glass is in perfect condition, no haze, fungus, scratches or chips this time. Rear thread is secured with Redstan's clamp, with 67mm threads, closest pairing possible with the taking lens. I'm including front and rear caps - not the original ones - and the original lens pouch.   As everyone already knows, it's focus through, allows you to rack focus on the taking lens and go extra wide-angle at the same time. Has some problems regarding corner sharpness, but I think it's awesome.   I'm including in this kit a custom-made filter holder for 4.5" diopters, and three of these: +0.5, +1 and +2, Tiffen, in perfect shape. This way, you won't need anything else in order to start shooting with this lens, even at the widest lenses and apertures. This size of glass is very hard to find, and this adapter doesn't even have a copy. Single unit! US$1450 shipped (LA7200 + redstan clamp + front clamp with 105mm threads + custom adapter 105mm to 4.5" + Diopter kit (+0.5, +1 and +2) LA7200 photos http://www.eoshd.com/comments/gallery/album/85-panasonic-ag-la7200-clamps/

4. Shot on Alexa with 50mm Panavision C-Series @ stops between 1.4-2.8 with almost no second takes, so some of this is focus-pulling from the gods.
5. Good evening guys, I'm searching for a very fast or the fastest lens for the BMPCC. Then fastest I can think of is the Nikon AI 50mm / 55mm f/1.2 in combination with the BMPCC-Speedboster. Do you have another (better) advice? BTW: It's mostly for concert and nighttime shooting and perhaps to get a nice DOP. Thanks a lot! Moe

8. The EOSHD Anamorphic Shooter's Guide is a comprehensive cookbook to buying and using anamorphic lenses.   "With this guide you will enter the world of anamorphic lenses. Before beginning, ask yourself – do I want my footage to look like everybody else’s? Would I feel satisfied if my footage was shot with lenses anyone could buy, from any shop? If the answer is ‘no’ – choose anamorphic"   Available now only at EOSHD - http://www.eoshd.com/anamorphic-guide/
9. Here is a film countdown leader I recently built. The original file is 4096 x 1716, suitable for a 4K DCP. It can be rescaled and cropped for lower res work and different aspect ratios: Feel free to download it if you think it would be useful for your projects.
10. Shot over the past few years when we go home to Salisbury NB. This is down by the river where the children play. WE have such a good time hanging out with friends and family here. Big thanks to everyone who comes out to see us while we are home. Shot on the Nikon D800 and D4 with the Dog Schidt Optiks FF58 Q1.5 Amber lens, Iscorama 1.5X anamorphic and other Nikkor lenses.
11. Hi everyone, We know how to handle aspect ratio on FCP, premiere ... But ,who knows how to handle on lightroom? I know how to fix aspect ratio with anamorphic in PS, but can't do in lightroom... Best.
12. Hello my EOSHD's friend !      Thank you for supporting me on the Nikon Film festival !   It's a challenge of talking about memory in less than 140 secondes !   You can watch it and give me support there :   http://www.festivalnikon.fr/video/2013/1264     Thanks for your help   Seb Farges
13. We are already discussing monitors that allow for proper anamorphic monitoring here: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/topic/1832-monitors-for-2x-and-15x-stretch-preview/ But I thought that it would be useful to have one thread where we all share our Custom Scale settings for anamorphic monitoring (especially since Magic Lantern has brought back 4:3 shooting in raw mode at assorted resolutions). For those unfamiliar with this feature, the best description that I have found is in the manual for the old DP1: http://www.eoshd.com/comments/uploads/gallery/album_14/gallery_18451_14_22383.png

16. Hi my anamorphic friends ! Here are some new stuff taken with my favorite light and sharp anamorphic combo. Tell me what you think ! Thanks for watching !   https://vimeo.com/78594325     This movie has been shoot a week-end mid october in Bordeaux, and first week-end of november in the countryside.  I'm glad to have now I think the perfect anamorphic set combination for my baby Hypergonar anamorphic lens. I bought few weeks ago a used Qioptiq C-mount lens, usually used in industry. This lens is very sharp, even at it's fastest aperture (f1.6) and this wide aperture is still usable with the anamorphic on it ! Some of the shot of the movie had been taken at f1.6.   The Filick'r album : flickr.com/photos/43243778@N04/sets/72157636631334626/   It was not possible to screw directly the anamorphic lens on the Qioptiq prime lens because the front barrel is turning when you focusing. So I ordered a special machined flat step up ring to attach the two lens. I've unscrewed the ring on the Qioptiq that is maintening the glass, and replace with the special machined flat ring. Then I screwed on it the original small Berthiot clamp that can align the anamorphic lens. Then I put the baby Berthiot hypergonar in it. The combination suits perfectly ! The weight of this anamorphic combo is quite light. The Hypergonar weight is 57 grams, the clamp maybe 20 grams, the Qioptiq is 210 gram, then the two filters (diopter + variable ND) and step up rings maybe 150 grams. So the total is around only 400 grams ! And finally using the OM-D with it's 5 axis stabilization system with an anamorphic combo is very useful ! Olympus om-d e-m5 / 1080p 30 Art4 "light tone" mode no color correction qioptiq linosMevis-C c-mount 35mm f1.6 baby hypergonar 1.75x anamorphic lens tokina close-up 0.5 variable ND filter Cokin Pure Harmony Xume magnetic filter attachments music / soundtrack vangelis / blade runner   Here is the first part of this pocket anamorphic set : vimeo.com/77265744 And here is a movie taken with this lens alone : vimeo.com/75065010
17. Hey there I want to sell my lovely Iscorama 36 Nikon 50mm 2.8. It's really hard to give this beauty away but there are times where you have to do what you have to do. This lens is in a perfect condition, all glasses are free of fungus, dust, oil or scratches. The only marks of usage are visible at the white numbers on the focus ring and at the rear barrel due to too cheap mounting bracket. This bracket caused some minor scratches which doesn't effect usability at all. The optics are perfectly clear and focus ring runs very smoothly. I've got also the very rare and high quality achromat TOKINA +.4 72mm, which is used to reduce minimum focus distance with the iscorama. The Package includes: Iscorama 36 anamorphot Nikon 50mm 2.8 taking lens Nikon to Canon adapter     Original Iscorama packaging with instruction manual TOKINA At-X +.4 Achromat 72mm     little Tokina leather bag Soligor +1,+2,+4 Achromat 72mm     little Soligor leather bag several Step rings/distance rings to fit other lenses (which is in my opinion the safest and fastest way to use the anamorphot)    52mm->49mm    49mm->52mm    58mm->52mm    67mm->52mm    2x distance ring 52mm some photos of the optics and filters are attached below Pricing for the hole package with national shipping (incl. insurance): 3200€ with paypal Collection also available, current product location: Germany, Nuremberg international shipping is calculated as soon as I know the destination country. customs duty may be added within non EU countries! I bought the lens on ebay US and i was lucky enough that customs haven't charged me,  just FYI.

19. Hello Guys! Just a small example how good this combo is. Really happy with the results  ;)   D5200 used here because I'm waiting for my Nikon F to mft adapter. (Tilt and swivel lcd was very usefull in this situation to focus.)     This will be my setup with the pocket in a few days, I will use a 28mm, 35mm and this 50mm all from Nikkor.   https://vimeo.com/77586987     Best, JDS

22. Today just arrived Tushinsky variable ration anamorphic projection lens. Some tests I made today didn't prove much useful (shot with GF3 with ETC), will post some more in next days. I haven't found any videos made through this adapter on the net. Anybody's got some experience with this beast? 23. I've been stewing about what lenses to invest in with my upcoming BMPCC order and thought maybe you guys could weigh in with your collective wisdom.     I was leaning toward Nikkor AI-S glass because it was the pinnacle of manual lens tech in the manual lens photo heyday, has long focus throws, is relatively portable, and is flexible if I want to jump up to larger sensors in the future (does anyone think this 16mm sensor will stay around indefinitely?). Also, I could then hack an APS-C and a FF Canon for RAW and have three focal lengths for each lens, effectively. Or I could get the Metabones Speedbooster essentially making it a Super 35mm equivalent, more or less.    Then I read one perspective that since using FF glass on the Micro Four Thirds BMCC and BMPCC sensor is cutting into the center of the glass means it will magnify all the imperfections of the lens. A friend I trust on technical matters agreed with this, saying Nikon glass would look bad no matter how good the original optics and the Speedbooster just adds more glass distorting the image. He seems to think the better approach is to get super 16 C-Mount glass designed for the sensor size, and then sell it if I change to a larger sensor camera .. kind of a "get what you need now for optimal results, and don't think about five years from now" mindset.    I'm now leaning this way, thinking that the super wide focal lengths I'll need for the BMPCC and BMCC will be useless to me anyway if I decide to go with a larger sensor in future (I'm not into superwide lenses).   Anyway, any thoughts would be much appreciated!     TL;DR: I want future proof and flexible glass that will still shine on the BMPCC. Is this possible or should I go with optimized C-mount or M43 glass?
24. Hi,   I had such a good response last time I thought I would post my latest music video shot using an Optex anamorphic adapter.   https://vimeo.com/74284254   Shot on a Red One mostly in 2k crop mode 96fps I wanted to replicate the look of 16mm film. I love shooting in raw, it gave me lots of flexibility in post, using LUTs to get some really filmic colours. Would be cool to get some feed back from some fellow anamorphic lovers.   Cheers,   Chris.
