    GH2

Greetings folks! Does anyone still happen to have EOSHD Unified Patch? The file is no longer accessible on Andrew Reid's website. I found the Vanilla Hack on here and hope to find the Unified Patch. Ruiz.
  3. Recently created a new (one-off) LUT for the Panasonic GH2 because like me, I know there are people out there who still use (or would love to get back into using) this soon to be forgotten gem of a camera for video. Though it's not free, it's still cheaper than a Golden Arches Meal and worth checking out the page even if it's just out of curiosity. Thank you. 4. Just to be very clear... not shot by me!! I wish it was! It looks great. But I just happened to come across it, and had to share it, as it is a nice example of what can be shot with GH2 in capable hands.
  5. Four year old GH2 body for sale, perfect working order, small dent on the microphone casing. Comes with new battery and new charger, selling due to upgrade. Based in London, prefer buyer pick up. Respond via profile or Gumtree ad: https://www.gumtree.com/p/digital-cameras/panasonic-gh2-camera-body/1169882944
  6. I did a rough test between three cameras: the Nikon D750, Lumix GH2, and Black Magic Pocket Camera. I wanted to see how their videos compared in general. I'm swamped in work, so I couldn't make this as good as I wanted. I literally shot it on lunch break from a day job at an PR firm. However, I think the results are clear and I wanted to share the video and a link to my blog with you guys in hopes that others can learn or give me some good feedback on questions I raise. I'm rusty on the whole shooting thing because I've devoted the last 3 years to teaching and commercial work/writing. It's good to get back into it, and necessary because I have a script I want to shoot next month. http://www.production1studio.com/2016/02/23/3-camera-test/ I know some won't be interested in the blog link above, like I'm plugging myself, but there is a lot of insight into the footage, what I was trying to do, and a big piece on lenses and the way they work (like feel) on different cameras.
  7. Hello, we just shot a little video with a german MMA Fighter / Hip Hop Artist. We shot it on GH4 and GH2 and used a Cam-Mini 2 Gimbal. Luckily a friend at Deli Creative Collective graded it for us. We would love to hear some feedback. We want to grow - as you know there are no limits ;-) We added the video to the Sony competition and if you like to support us it would be great if you could like the video on youtube. (The youtube likes are needed to get to the next round) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P39xYXsoUS0&feature=youtu.be Have a nice evening!
  8. Hi all, I was wondering if you wouldn't mind looking at some of my work and giving me some constructive criticism. I've graduated from film on the gh2 to currently the gh4 and I've started my own local film business. Nothing massive just a hobby I enjoy so why not get paid to do it. Please take a look and let me know what you think. I'm always willing to try new things and learn from past mistakes. Thanks for your time http://m.youtube.com/channel/UCcn5e_l0y_ryAUJ5VXSXK3A
  9. hi guys, i started a vimeo channel dedicated to my anamorphic test with LA7200 and GH2, speedbooster and CANON FD lens. https://vimeo.com/channels/anamorphictest Do feel free to take a look and comment. Thanks, Chin

  11. They should consider doing some 4K coverage as well ;)   http://www.bbc.com/news/world-latin-america-27635908
  12. Made my own music video to showcase one of my songs. It's electronic music aka melodic dubstep. Anyhow... made this with my GH2 and GH3. All details in the description. If you like the music better alone its available online on the major streaming sites. Enjoy.
  13. Halfway through filming our no-budget feature film on the trusty GH2 with a Driftwood Moon T7 hack. Lenses used are Sigma 30mm 1.4, Canon FD 50mm 1.4, and SLR Magic 12mm. teaser: We're running a kickstarter to finish the film here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1914745614/feature-film-the-act-of-leaving
  14. I have an upcoming video project doing online video training modules for staff members of a major NYC hospital. (It's nice to have connections. ;-) But I'm not getting paid, either. :-( ) Anyway, I'm a photographer, not a video guy and I'm trying to figure out the best way to do video with audio and not spend a ton of money on more gear. I plan on using my GH2 and (possibly) GX7, Voigtländer M4/3 lenses and probably get Final Cut to tie it all together. One other thing, I want to do some video screen captures of someone using custom software for trainings, adding a voiceover later. Since I'm a Mac guy I know of Mac applications that can do that, but all their computers are Windows, so is there a good Windows application that can do that? I'm thinking of using an external mic, probably some sort of clip-on type, since it's just voice recording. Mono or Stereo? I already have a 3.5mm to 2.5mm adaptor for a mic. I may try using both cameras, to make it more interesting for viewers, so an external audio recorder should be my best bet when editing it all together. There's stuff like time codes that I'll have to deal with, correct? Will I need lights, like small LEDs or am I better off working with ambient light? I do have fast lenses. Am I crazy trying to use 2 cameras and an external recorder, since I have no clue what I'm doing? Should I keep it simple and stick with one camera and an external mic recording direct to the camera? I'm tech proficient and have no doubt that I'd be able to pull it all together. It'll be a good learning experience. Does anyone have suggestions for mice, external recorders, reality check, etc.? Thanks!
  15. Hi there, I have just got a Kowa 16D over the weekend. I am completely new to this and I have read on this forum and elsewhere, but I am not sure yet of what lens and clamps are best. Apparently, the Kowa 16D is not the same as the 8Z, as they say here. I have seen that in a lot of videos people is using the Helios 44 with Redstan Clamps. Is this the best for the Kowa 16D? I have also seen that some guys are using the Nikon 50mm. I have got a Panasonic GH2 with a SLR Magic 25mm T0.95. So I believe I will need to buy a lens anyway. I would like to also add some diopters as well. If you guys have some suggestions, I will very much appreciate any comments. Thank you PS: I am at work and I have the lens at home, so I will post some pictures later.
  16. I just purchased an Industar 61 50 mm lens for my GH2 off of Craigslist. I have the right adapter it fits perfectly; yet, when I just tried to test it out (in my bedroom at night) nothing would come into focus. Please keep in mind I'm a novice learning my tools. I've read that this lens when wide open can be rather soft and isn't fast enough for indoors; yet, I didn't realize how this was connected to focus. Do you think this is the issue here? Not something wrong with the lens itself. Regardless I'll be testing it out tomorrow in daylight and have a better idea. Would appreciate any insight and lessons from your expertise! Thank you! :)
  17. looking to purchase an industrar 61L 50 mm lens for my panasonic gh2. was wondering what adapter i should go with for this lens. any recommendations or insight would be helpful! thanks so much!
  18. Hey everyone, I shot this TV pilot called Congressdude. Using the almighty GH2 along with the 12-35. Hope you like it!
  19. Hi, what experiences do you have with choosing the right aperture for the best possible focus? I use a gh2 + canon fd 50mm 1.4 + anamorphic adapter (century optix like) And i have very big difficulties to get any focus from objects more far away than 5 meters. Here a little test Any tips? Thanks a lot Emin
  20. My GH2's continue to get used in the most demanding of environments. I shot this corporate piece using GH2's in minus 20 weather in Edmonton, Canada back in November. Not a single card error or power issue, using Flowmotion 2.02. Cameras were rock solid. The weather made the grease in the takumar lens barrels pretty sluggish but everything held up great for the exterior shots. I continue to use a full minus green gel fixed against the sensor and manually WB for superb balanced colors with zero green cast for all interior and exterior conditions. I used a Kessler pocket dolly for slides and an hd400 glidecam for upping the production value. Lift shots we're from a 60ft Genie we hired out. Interviews were shot with 50mm and 35mm (with speedbooster). Interior interview lighting was with a 1k to a 5x3 bounce and a couple of Lowell pro kickers for hair and background lighting. Edited and coloured in the much improved FCPX 10.1
  21. Hello there, I am trying to get an anamorphic lens for my GH2 and have come across a LOMO Arriflex 20-120mm with PL mount that someone is selling for £1.400. http://london.craigslist.co.uk/phd/4297942296.html I am new to anamorphic and I was looking for the cheaper Sankor and Kowa, but I was really excited at first. After that, I read this: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> Now, I am not sure if this lens it is as amazing as it looks and if the price is fair. I also found this video from what it seems to be the same lens: Any advice? Thank you for your time Borja
  22. I have a GH2 and am working in Premiere Pro CS6 trying to find some of the settings I should use to export from the timeline.  I have Andrew Reid's GH2 book, but that only gives settings for Premiere Pro CS5, not 6, and there are some differences.   Thanks for the input!   [attachment=708:Screen Shot 2013-10-22 at 3.32.44 PM.png]
  23. Hi all,   I'm shooting a camera test for my upcoming short on a GH2, and I wanted to test with an SLR Magic 12mm T 1.6 Hyperprime, because of all the great reviews, and example footage I saw.  My test is during the day so I took notice of all the warnings to get a large ND filter to avoid vignetting.  I bought a Fader MkII Variable ND filter at a 77mm size, and then bought a 58/77mm step up ring for the SLR Magic Hyper Prime.   To my dismay, when I received the lens from my mail order lens rental place, without any filter and just shooting on the GH2, I saw some very undesirable distortion on the corners.  I sometimes like imperfections in classic glass, like my Canon FD primes, but this distortion I was seeing on the SLR Magic lenses was pretty unacceptable.  Also...I like flaring, but it seemed this lens in particular has some serious flaring "issues". Next I put my ND filter setup on the camera, and regardless of my larger ND Fader, I experienced pretty bad vignetting. Here's where my question comes.  I'm looking to get the equivelant of a 24mm focal length on my GH2.  The 12mm seems like the likely candidate, but I'm wondering a.  Do I have an damaged or defective lens, or b.  Is this the nature of the lens. If that is the case...does anyone have a good alternative to the Nokton SLR Magic 12mm?  I know the 12mm Olympus is talked about a lot and I also see a fair share of folks talking about the Tokina 11-16 zoom.   I may be running out of time, and may have to shoot on my Canon 5dmkII for this test, but ideally I really wanted to use my GH2, since I specifically bought it for video since I'm not a fan of the Canon look on video.   Any of your advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!!!
  24. Hi everybody,   To sell or not to sell? that is s the question.   i've noticed the drastic decline (or you can say almost now non-existing) love for GH2 on EOSHD the past year. It seems that Andrew really is no longer talking about it either. I have been shooting on GH2 for my personal work, and small jobs which has become a lot less lately due to my schedule.   I do own a 5d mkiii but it's original purpose has been for photography and the CF card prices and hassle of post production hasn't justified for me to start shooting in the format despite its low costs.   At my workplace or higher budget projects we have several RED Epics i have access to but it's not a camera you can always carry around with you.   Now the question is:   -GH2 Hack vs GH3. I see a lot of people raving about the GH3 but is it better than a hacked GH2?   -since i own several MFT lenses, should i goto a BMCC?   -or sell the entire GH2 and MFT system and get everything to get the 5DMKIII running RAW   Thanks ahead
