I've just published a utility that allows for the automation of camera functions on newer Canon cameras like the R5/R6. It can be used to automate the thermal tests. Here's my thread on Dpreview with all the details:

There is also one feature I've been dying to see - a big 4.5-5 inch flip out screen. And a fuckin bright one. The never released Sharp prototype of 8k camera nailed it.

People keep saying it can be easily corrected but I keep seeing that zombie yellow and that clinical radioactive green everywhere unless it's that overcorrected atrocious orange and teal that's become synonymous with sony and I say this as someone who has one of their cameras.

Bigger, better, brighter screens. 3" lcd camera screens seem pitiful now that we have 6" oled phone screens that go everywhere with us.
Like Andrew said in his article on the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema 4K: "Now here’s a screen we should have seen on the GH-series of cameras for a LONG time:"

This looks like a pretty legitimate article... so the "game changer", the "cinema dream" is 6k @ 24 fps? A feature no one was asking for?
No flip screen, no PDAF and no built in ND? Disappointing. I think Panasonic will remain a distant last place sales wise. No one had a problem with the image quality of the S1. Personally, I really like the image of the S1. What the majority of people had a problem with was the contrast detect AF and the lack of a flip screen. Built in ND, while nice to have, was never expected on a hybrid... so it didn't lose points for lacking it. Leaving out the two most requested features is a huge disappointment... again!
Oh well, nothing to see folks, just a more usable 6k photo mode... that no one asked for.

Alexa and RED are made for professional productions with "real budgets" and "real crews". So needless to say a dedicated focus puller is generally part of the production's expense. But if you want to see some piss poor RED footage just do a search for "RED Raven footage". A lot of aspiring filmmaker bought that camera thinking they could do it alone... what a cluster Fuk of out of focus mess.
It's not for selfies... it's so a solo operator can frame their shots etc... without needing the talent in the scene. This of course is yet another issue a major production does not have to worry about.

Agree with Andrew, XT3 is fantastic with specs but lack of IBIS and FF is a pain.
Canon is out of the question.
Sony is late with A7SIII and they will have the usual ergonomics problems.
Panasonic S fantastic but AF is such a deal breaker.
Nikon got everything right except they aren’t releasing a super video camera like A7S / S1... no 4K60p... this is such a bummer. Not to mention poor lens choice but let’s say this is only going to improve with time.
    Again big compromises everywhere.
My guess is that it’s still will be a Sony win next year for my use because the A7S will be the only one to combine 4K60 with good AF and IBIS and FF. Pana AF is a Deal Breaker so is 4K30p on Z7, so is Canon so is lack of FF and ibis with XT3.
It’s a shame because the Sony’s probably the least enjoyable camera to shoot with from the above.

Exactly my thoughts. The size is because unlike the BMPCC4k, this doesn't HAVE fans for heat dissipation because it has go be weather sealed. It does this by having a Huge heat sink as well as way better processing.
I also believe that Panasonic is keenly watching the A7Siii (as well as others before the specs are finalised) for what all specs to finalise. They may have the megapixel and video bit depth advantage over the Sony. Dynamic Range may be similar and the Sony may be better by 1-2 stops in low light video. If Panasonic can't bring autofocus to PDAF levels, that may be the biggest weakness on this.
Also like on the Nikon Z Series (which I think I may agree with Tony Northup's about the Panasonic and Nikon sharing the same sensors), there will be 2 distinct models, one with a slightly greater emphasis on photo (S1R) and the other on video (S1). While Nikon has, like Canon handicapped the whole thing with emphasis on size and having a single SD Card (apart from smaller battery and no internal 4-2-2 codec), Panasonic is keeping the bulk for adding a lot of great features.
There must be some politics of features in ILCs (like regarding the PDAF), wherein Panasonic is being barred from having PDAF on their cameras, and both Panasonic and Sony are mum about the real reasons for it.

When the GH4 launched in 2014, Panasonic "obviously" had faith in their autofocus system. Yet when it came to video, the CDAF looked pretty bad compared to the PDAF on the 70D, NX1, and a6000. The GH4 was a fantastic camera, but it was clear back then that Panasonic needed to include PDAF if they wanted to achieve good video autofocus. So in 2017 when the GH5 was realeased, a lot of people were disappointed that PDAF was again missing from the specs. Panasonic "obviously" had faith in their autofocus system, but real world usage found the GH5's "Advanced CDAF" was still not as good as the PDAF in some 3 year old cameras, much less some of the latest models from other manufacturers.
Now in 2018 with Canon, Nikon, Sony and Fuji all producing cams with really good video autofocus using PDAF, I think it's easy to see why critics are disappointed that PDAF will again be missing from Panasonic's next generation of cameras come 2019.

Then why would a company that prides itself on the video side utilize a focusing system that sucks in video then? It is pretty obvious that Panasonic is pretty terrible at making a camera that can AF worth a crap in video mode.
Their stuff is becoming too expensive for the average person to buy, and that is a total change from what they used to be. I think it is going to end up badly for them down the road.

You might be right about CDAF being best for fine-tuning the focus, but PDAF not only knows something is out of focus but which way the focus is to be found.
After watching dozens or hundreds of beautiful moments pass while the focus mechanism has charged off in the wrong direction and the moment concludes and the shot is lost while the camera is still wondering why the entire frame is a complete blur, I will always be deeply deeply skeptical of CDAF-only cameras.

Static shots, yes.   But still have to get the camera into tight spots in the studio around drummers and whatnot.  A monitor needs cabling & power.  That's extra work.
Dealt with a Sony A7s for three years and various "solutions."   ..all of which required extra work.   Got a GH5 last year & wondered how the hell I managed without it.   Mainly because of the flip out screen!
Never switching back to a non-flipping screen, I don't care what the specs say.  Practicality trumps specs.

WOW ... no PDAF, yet again!
CDAF is barely adequate on a m4/3 size sensor that is aided by a deep depth of field.
On a full frame sensor, with a narrow depth of field, CDAF will be a disaster.
