1. Comes with: Sankor 16c in great condition 46mm thread Redstan clamp pics up soon $400 shipped in USA
2. Hi! Do you know, please, Sankor 16D's rear cap size? I bought already some different sized caps and it never fits. Damn! So? Any idea? This info is very hard to find out… > I know it's not 49mm. 49mm is the rear element size but not the rear cap size. (I'm sure cause bought too a 49mm cap and it's a little bit too small) < Not a very essence question for this brilliant forum, but I hate dust and scratches! I hate 'em more than Indiana Jones hates nazis! Thanks!
3. Not sure if this was posted anywhere, but great test footage of the GH4 4K + Sankor 2x Anamorphic from Martin Wallgren:
4. Hey guys. I've seen several Sankor anamorphic adapters on ebay and I've been wondering - what's the difference between the Sankor 16C and the 16D? - Mathias
5. Hi anamorphic lens buffs,   I've just purchased a GH3 and want to get involved in the wonderful world of anamorphic lenses... but after extensive reading and looking on ebay, I'm confused. Apologies if some of my questions are idiotic.   It seems the consensus is that iscorama is the best - but with none currently on ebay I can't find how much one should be. How much should a 36 go for, or a 54, and where might I source one?   What are the Isco Optic Ultra / blue star? Are these related to the iscorama? Some on ebay are labelled Isco Iscorama - is it the same company? Are these wrongly labelled? Here is an example of one:   http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Anamorphic-Lens-RARE-Isco-Iscorama-2x-MINT-DSLR-GH3-GH2-5D-Canon-COMPACT-Sharp-/171168616302?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item27da71cf6e   Also many of the pictures of the lens have a ruler showing how long they are. How does the length affect them?    This one for example (though it has no ruler) is marked as 120mm. What does that refer to?   http://www.ebay.com/itm/isco-optic-120mm-with-schneider-super-cinelux-anamorphic-lens-/121211839272   One of my main concerns is getting a lens which will fit over my taking lenses. I have a Voightlander 35mm (which has a 52mm thread), which should be fine... I'm assuming I'd struggle to use my Rokinon 24mm, which has a lens circumference of 77mm, both because it is so wide at the front, but also cause it would vignette badly.   On the GH3 the 35mm lens becomes roughly a 70mm. With the anamorphic adaptor, does it effectively become a 35mm again?   Please could people give me their opinions of the following choices, and their pros and cons? They vary a lot in price and size.    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kowa-Bell-and-Howell-2x-Anamorphic-Lens-Perfect-Condition-w-Lens-caps-RARE-/181235078150?pt=Camera_Lenses&hash=item2a3273d406   http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bausch-and-Lomb-Anamorphic-Lens-2x-Cinemascope-lens-holder-for-15mm-rods-/231089701199?pt=UK_Lenses_Filters_Lenses&hash=item35ce05014f   http://www.ebay.com/itm/Isco-Optic-Ultra-MC-2x-35mm-Anamorphic-Cinemascope-lens-DSLR-Micro-4-3-/121210681244   http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SANKOR-ANAMORPHIC-16C-16mm-WIDE-PROJECTION-LENS-/221311304014   http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/KOWA-16mm-Prominar-Anamorphic-16-H-LENS-52030-/281127357879?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item41747f0db7     I'm also interested in the SLR Magic anamorphic. Does anyone know when that will be available to buy?   Lastly, people seem to recommend the  Helios 44mm a lot. Why is this?   If it makes a difference to my choice, I think I prefer blue flares over brown, and the nearest focal distance the better... I guess thats what everyone wants!    Thanks for reading my rather long post! All advice gratefully received.   Many thanks all,   Jules
6. https://vimeo.com/77332920   This video is really three parts - lens test (taking and anamorphic), people in shots and atmosphere on location.  BTW the set is for the TV show "Person of Interest".   Sorry no music on this one.
7. Hello, everyone. I'm new to the forum. Anamorphic lens are getting really tough to find on ebay so I figured I should try other means. :) I'm interested in acquiring one of the cheaper anamorphic lens like Sun, Sankor, Singer or similar. Please, if there's anyone interested in selling, contact me.   Thanks!
8. Model Kyllie music video shot with Canon 5DmkIII RAW and Panasonic GH3. This is my first foray into shooting a music video with slow motion in mind. I also wanted to shoot with Anamorphic lenses and use a Steadicam for movement.  Learned a lot from this shoot, I hope to make the next one much better.   https://vimeo.com/72950991
9. Testing out my recently acquired lenses with my Canon 5DmkIII using RAW.  The ability to record 3:2 as 1920x1280 is really great, but there is still a very limited ability to shoot wide with 2x Anamorphic lenses, in this case my Sankor 16D.  I have a Panasonic LA7200, but it's only a 1.33x stretch and doesn't get me the nice oval bokehs and stretched OOF areas that I want.  I really wish there was some kind of wide option using a 2x Anamorphic lens.  I also tested 1920x1280 versus 1920x1080 to see the difference.   https://vimeo.com/72941440   https://vimeo.com/72941441
10. Hi! I am buying a Sankor Adapter-M on ebay. I need a lens clamp for it, but i am kind of somewhat confused on how that works. I am planning on attaching it to a Helios 44m. What clamps to what and what size clamp do I need to buy?

12. EMKE Hawaii recording new music in the studio!  I tagged along and tested shooting Anamorphic with my Canon 5DMKIII.  Using the different aspect ratios, I used 4:3 1600x1200.  This is perfect for my Sankor 2x Anamorphic Projection lens.  I then used After Effects to make the image fit 1080P.  Music is their original song "Open Eyes" acoustic version.   Canon 5DMKIII w Magic Lantern RAW June 3rd Build Lexar 64GB 1000x CF Card After Effects to Premiere Pro Canon 100mm Macro Sankor 2x Anamorphic Projection Lens   https://vimeo.com/68611134
13. Hi,   I just wanted to share my first video shot with an anamorphic adapter.   https://vimeo.com/65235134   This was an unplanned shoot which turned into a music video for a good friend of mine. Shot on a 5D mark ii with a Sankor 16-C and a jupiter 85mm taking lens. All hand held with no rig (told you it was unplanned) I wish I had more lenses and a stabiser of some sort but thats how it goes. The content was pretty cool so I thought it needed to be cut together. Sometimes the best things to shoot happen when you least expect it!   Cheers,   Chris.
14. Hello all this is my first post/comment. I've come into a Sankor 16-D, a Kowa Prominar 16-S and an Eiki 16C and I'm trying to get any and all information I can on how to get the most out of them. I'm shooting with a Panasonic GH2. I haven't picked up a prime lens to use with any of them as I'm not quite sure of the best one (or ones). I have picked up the Anamorphic Shooters Guide (2nd Edition) from EOSHD so I have some small idea. (I don't think any of these are actually listed in that guide though.)   Any advice would be helpful, which is lens is best, reliable and affordable adapters, best taking lenses, anything. I'm having trouble finding info on the internet but maybe there is a forum or guide that would be helpful somewhere I haven't looked.   Anyway, thanks and I'm looking forward to whatever help you all can offer.   ktrufant
15. My first Anamorphic video.  This is a lens test that turned into a vignette about a small park in a large city, Caesar's Park.   http://vimeo.com/64361609
16. Like to share this music video, one shot. Done with Sankor 16C, helios  and GH2. https://vimeo.com/37423237
17. Hi everyone    I´m a young video director from Madrid-spain, (www.MauriDGaliano.com)   I want to share with this great community my passion for  vintage Anamorphic Lenses.   I´ve been reading this forum a lot of times, but is the first time that i write something.   Allow me the honor to share my last Anamorphic video, a Drum cover for the Artist "Deivhook",the best Drummer in Spain.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=13zPG1ebHlo     I shoot this video with my basic set: Panasonic GH2 Flowmotion v2.2 + fd50mm 1.8 + Bolex Anamorphot 16/32 1.5x.   The Bolex is the little girl of all my lenses...the "jewel of the crown",   The  rare 1.5x ratio suits perfect for almost everything, and its super-easy to make the double focus with it, in this video theres no flares, but this lens have the best flares  i´ve seen. Flare sooo easy, blue-deeply flares like Panavision C series. Mindblowing.   Now i have a clamp, from VidAtlantic, but im interested in upgrade to Redstan, i´ve seen that redstan have a custom Clamp for the little brother of my lens, the 8/19 1.5x, And im asking myself if he has one custom clamp for my lens.   Someone can give me the contact of Redstan?   I hope that you enjoy the video!   If someone have a question about the lens, ask me!   PD: I already knows that i suck writing in english, sorry!
18. On top of my low light high ISO tests I also tested my Sankor Anamorphic 2x lens.  One thing I really learned is that anamorphics need to be focused at a specific distance to get the desired effect.  Of course I only realize this after I do this, so I'll try and do another test later.  Focus is very difficult, next time I'll bring an external monitor.  The 100mm Macro surprisingly was the most difficult to focus.  I think it has a much shallower depth of field than either of the FD 1.2L lenses.   http://youtu.be/U5Oh-IBFZyY   http://youtu.be/eL0HesvFrPc   http://youtu.be/zEk-7OEkVAU   http://youtu.be/ZaRwD_L0n-g   Out of all these tests it's clear that there are limitations with both cameras.  Here are some notes:   - EX TELE mode is much improved on the GH3.  There is more detail and less noise, although it is still very noisy.  Not sure I can call it "grain" but if you really need to use it you can.  But I would still go with a prime over EX TELE mode, even if it is a great lens like the Leica 25mm.  GH2 clearly is bad in EX TELE mode, worse in very low light - Detail is excellent for both cameras.  I still think the GH2 has more but only by a little.  Again focusing is critical. - GH3 clearly has more dynamic range and retains more details especially in the shadows.  The last video you can see more tiles in the shadows at the left of the image. - GH3 can shoot more flat and retain more color detail too.  The last video I upped the saturation to 150% to match the GH2.  You can't go far at all with the GH2, it is so baked into the codec. - GH3 is 2/3 of a stop brighter at high ISOs.  However the codec isn't great for low light.  I think the 50Mbits IPB is better than the 72Mbits All-I for low light.  Just the noise grain is better and easier to remove.  In bright conditions they are about the same.   I prefer the GH3 over the GH2 for usability and for the image.  I'll still use my GH2s because they are still very stellar cameras.  But I think there are many improvements in the GH3 that overall make it a better camera.
19. Finally put my GH3 through it's paces and I got my anamorphics too.  I shot the local teen group EMKE Hawaii live at Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu's 25th Anniversary celebration.  But to shoot all anamorphic, well you can call me crazy I guess.  Shooting dual focus is no joke, and I really had to change my thinking in terms of zooming and framing.  The videos below are from the middle of the set when I finally got a hang of it.  Well sort of, some shots are still soft.  I can say that I'm happy with the performance of the Sankor and Eiki 16D (pretty much the same lens).  Both are sharp if focused correctly.  The LA7200 I could never get good results past 50mm, so I just use it wide angle, in this case 17mm.  Overall the GH3 works very well, and I think I have a good combination here.   Wide Angle Shot - Panasonic GH2 w/ Flow Motion v2.02 hack, Panasonic 14-42mm kit lens @ 17mm, Panasonic LA7200 Anamorphic lens, ISO 1250, F4.5, 1/80sec, Vivid (-2,-2,-2,-2)   Medium Shot - Panasonic GH2 w/ Flow Motion v2.02 hack, Canon FD 50mm F1.2L, Eiki 16D Anamorphic lens, ISO 1250, F4.5, 1/80sec, Vivid (-2,-2,-2,-2)   Medium/Close-up Shot - Panasonic GH3, 24P 72mbit MOV, Panasonic 45-200mm lens, Sankor 16D Anamorphic lens, ISO 1250, F4.5-5.6 (zoomed), 1/80sec, Vivid (-3,-5,-4,-5)   http://youtu.be/N2RsGEoWtkM   Edit: Sorry forgot to add that the LA7200 is 1.33x, the Sankor/Eiki are 2x anamorphics.  So I cropped the Sankor/Eiki to fit into a 2.35:1 space.  Sorry no super-wide look, I needed it to match the LA7200.
20. Came across this Sankor 16C on Ebay. Looks excellent! But you need to be fast! :o http://www.ebay.nl/i...9#ht_500wt_1413
