  1. Hi, I am selling a Kowa 16-D anamorphic lens in excellent condition. It's an amazing piece of gear if you're into anamorphic shooting. It is very sharp, it produces wonderful subtle blue/purple flares (I usually dislike flares but I'm in love with these) and it has great anamorphic character. It is also very lightweight. The Kowa 16-D is in great condition. I bought it on Ebay this summer but I have barely used it and it has been stored very safely in a dry box. The glass is in pristine condition and the image quality is superb. Some signs of wear on the rear barrel but totally insignificant, especially since this part will be hidden behind your clamp. Comes with Kowa front and rear caps. I am selling it with a Redstan clamp with 52mm thread made specifically for this lens. Redstan clamps are known as the highest-quality clamps on the market for vintage anamorphic lenses. If needed, I can also include a 55 to 52mm step-down ring as a gift (if your taking lens has a 55mm filter thread). Finally, I am also selling an HTN adapter ring that can be screwed onto the Kowa 16-D to attach the Rectilux Hardcore DNA. Though never used, this is an incredibly useful piece of gear if you want to turn this set-up into a stable single-focus solution. Price: $370 for Kowa 16-D and Redstan Clamp +$35 for HTN Adapter ring (buyer pays for shipping) Please let me know if you want to see any video samples and I can PM you some files. Please also understand that this lens is smaller than the Kowa 16-H or Bell & Howell and could cause some vignetting depending on your taking lens and camera sensor. If you have any questions, do not hestitate to ask! Cheers.
  2. Pristine Kowa Prominar 16D for sale, dropped my price from $300 to $250, check out the listing if interested. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Kowa-Prominar-16D-Anamorphic-Lens-/301995262227?
  3. Hi! Do you know, please, Sankor 16D's rear cap size? I bought already some different sized caps and it never fits. Damn! So? Any idea? This info is very hard to find out… > I know it's not 49mm. 49mm is the rear element size but not the rear cap size. (I'm sure cause bought too a 49mm cap and it's a little bit too small) < Not a very essence question for this brilliant forum, but I hate dust and scratches! I hate 'em more than Indiana Jones hates nazis! Thanks!
  4. Hi! I have this anamorphic lens but I can't really know what it is exactly. Who can tell? It's exactly similar to a Kowa/Sankor/Singer 16D (and the "72mm Front Filter Ring" works on it), but it's only written on "Japan 2X anamorphic lens for BELL & HOWELL". Is it better or cheaper than the others Kowa/Sankor/Singer? My other question is: would it need an achromat or is it good enough to work "nude"? (I would like to try an "okina achromatic close up +0.4" with this anamo and have maybe a sharper image.) Would it work inevitably better with an Okina, or not? Thanks a lot!
  5. Hey guys. I've seen several Sankor anamorphic adapters on ebay and I've been wondering - what's the difference between the Sankor 16C and the 16D? - Mathias
  6. Hello, everyone. I'm new to the forum. Anamorphic lens are getting really tough to find on ebay so I figured I should try other means. :) I'm interested in acquiring one of the cheaper anamorphic lens like Sun, Sankor, Singer or similar. Please, if there's anyone interested in selling, contact me.   Thanks!
  7. Finally put my GH3 through it's paces and I got my anamorphics too.  I shot the local teen group EMKE Hawaii live at Hard Rock Cafe Honolulu's 25th Anniversary celebration.  But to shoot all anamorphic, well you can call me crazy I guess.  Shooting dual focus is no joke, and I really had to change my thinking in terms of zooming and framing.  The videos below are from the middle of the set when I finally got a hang of it.  Well sort of, some shots are still soft.  I can say that I'm happy with the performance of the Sankor and Eiki 16D (pretty much the same lens).  Both are sharp if focused correctly.  The LA7200 I could never get good results past 50mm, so I just use it wide angle, in this case 17mm.  Overall the GH3 works very well, and I think I have a good combination here.   Wide Angle Shot - Panasonic GH2 w/ Flow Motion v2.02 hack, Panasonic 14-42mm kit lens @ 17mm, Panasonic LA7200 Anamorphic lens, ISO 1250, F4.5, 1/80sec, Vivid (-2,-2,-2,-2)   Medium Shot - Panasonic GH2 w/ Flow Motion v2.02 hack, Canon FD 50mm F1.2L, Eiki 16D Anamorphic lens, ISO 1250, F4.5, 1/80sec, Vivid (-2,-2,-2,-2)   Medium/Close-up Shot - Panasonic GH3, 24P 72mbit MOV, Panasonic 45-200mm lens, Sankor 16D Anamorphic lens, ISO 1250, F4.5-5.6 (zoomed), 1/80sec, Vivid (-3,-5,-4,-5)   http://youtu.be/N2RsGEoWtkM   Edit: Sorry forgot to add that the LA7200 is 1.33x, the Sankor/Eiki are 2x anamorphics.  So I cropped the Sankor/Eiki to fit into a 2.35:1 space.  Sorry no super-wide look, I needed it to match the LA7200.
