It's not as technically precise as the others but I really loved the Voigt 42.5. Nice Leica-like bokeh and really flattering to faces.

The Tamron 28-75mm is really something else. Wide open sharpness at every focus distance and zoom. Almost no CA. Excellent flare control. All in a relatively compact and cheap form. But still, I've decided to return it as I can't really afford it.
I have a sigma mc-11, canon 24-85mm f3.5-4.5, 50mm stm and yongnuo 35mm f2 on order. Kind of interested in their performance compared to the Tamron, Sony 50mm Fe f1.8 and Samyang 35mm f2.8.

    SUCCESS!
Just to finish this thread, I replaced the eBay purchased Metabones XL with a new one. The new one had much tighter tolerances and even a weather sealed gasket on the back. I had to adjust the infinity focus a small amount but now my XL and Tokina 28-70mm work great together!

The video was shot with a single GH5 (with a little A6500 in there) in 10 hours, edited, graded and effects done in 4 days (by me).
The new album (last I heard) was at No.7 in the official UK chart.
I'm a big fan of what Panasonic has done with this camera.
That said, the shining star of this video is the band.

This is a portrait I took with the Voigtlander 17.5mm and GH4 a couple of years ago. With all these cool M43 cameras out/on the horizon I wish I'd kept the Voigty set now. . . and added the 10.5.

Hey, finally done with the trailer to our debut feature film at 55Media shot almost entirely on the Panasonic GH5 (some shots on the GoPro6 and P4P) in just 12 days.
Our best work yet. Movie is still going through post-production.

A Ha!!! Now you know how we sony a6500 owners felt when the GH5 came out...

In all seriousness, I might sell my Sonys and buy an GH5 and some MFT lenses and then pick up the BMPCC4K when it comes out in September. Otherwise I was going to get the a7 III.

What a shitty thing to think. The need to write it publicly is something you'll have to work out with whatever dark god you worship.
In the meantime, go take an exuberantly youthful selfie with your latte and shut the fuck up.

This is the first documentary that I have done. It was shot on Sony A7sii, Panasonic GH5, Sony Rx100m4 and a Phantom 4 pro. Would love to hear your thoughts! Editing a 30 minute piece is soooo much work. I applaud people who work in this format every day!

It is not about having extra batteries or not. It is how much time you get with each, for example, people routinely complain about battery performance of Sony cameras.
The biggest problem is that Fuji had spent years and years arguing about the size advantage relative to FF, now they offer a camera that has almost the same crop as the top end m4/3,  it is almost as big & heavy as the Sony FF equivalent with ~1/3 of the battery performance for video. Add the battery grip and now it is larger and heavier than a FF camera.
Why do people always want to defend cameras until death?  There are advantages & disadvantages with any camera. Let's be realistic about it so people can choose a bit wisely. Battery performance with X-H1 looks to be crap. No reason to argue against this.

Don’t get me wrong I love the Fuji system and have no gripe against the current lineup. I can even understand to some extent that the reasonably small X-T2 has a booster grip that adds headphone jack and extended record time. But when they release a larger body camera that is clearly targeted at video shooters they should have been able to include those features in the body.

It kind of sucks that good AF and HDR was not included in the GH5S. The chip was designed to do this, but was disabled by Panasonic. Also the need for usable AF was clearly known. So...

Need low-light and better AF to be more video-centric and merit the upgrade (especially if the price is higher). An integrated battery grip would be my personal request (a la the 1dx).

I do not even own any Panasonic, but they are clearly the spearhead of innovation and features, especially for video.
seriously, for less than 2000$, what else the GH5 DOES NOT have? Also, you can get new GH4 for less than 999€ also.
then you are complaining for a 500€ camera? Canon do not even offer 4K in double and triple price. Nikon do not offer. Fuji will release a 4K upgrade more than a year after a camera release (this is the most profound "hold back on features" case, ever), Sony -Sony is Sony, full of promises, under deliver on many important aspects.

Those big bags of scilica - to remove moisture at the end of the day or while stuff is stored away - so much moisture. I'd go a hand held point and shoot too - like a Sony RX100 - in a very small watertight case. As you'll be seeing stuff at unplanned moments - and you'll want to whip it out. Even in a small dry bag in your pocket. On the water light and atmospherics change second by second and its your ability to get stuff quickly. Ive spent about 10 years kayaking off shore and fishing for reasonbly big fish. And have shot stuff. Also again - a small point n shoot underwater camera might also be considered. It really depends on conditions..... but one salty splash on an unprotected camera could end things quickly. Also teathering camera cases on deck in case you roll....... check the seals daily for sand etc One speck could end things.... I'd go small peli cases in dry bags. For longer stowage trips.
