yeah for some reason the gemini is creamier and has some kind of pop like the alexa. Might be the other 24k $ that is giving that. BM should figure out what it is and implement it into their next camera, or better yet give it through a firmware update on the ursa mini pro.

How is FF 14 bit Raw even at 1080p irrelevant? When you add Canon’s color science plus DPAF for Raw video... plus a 30mp stills camera. Any 4K 14bit or even 3K with a crop is just gravy.

Well when using prores I do miss the RAW sliders in resolve or Premiere. Which are so usefull to do quick adjustments. 
 
Yeah exiting times for sure, I was sure to get the pocket 4K as BCAM to my UMP. (now my ump has gotten a serious awesome update)
But if this thing works I will be getting a 5D IV instead and sell my canon 6D. So I can double up my photography and travel video cam into one. 

They should be focusing on the 1DMk2. It has the media to handle the data rates. 

If they can do all the tricks the 5Diii does, but with a proper live view mode... I'll be back to Canon for my A cam. 
I'd use the normal mode for most shots, then switch on raw for shots where I need a bit more power in post. Perfect.

Yeah I am even agreeing about the part about leaders and followers. But bullies are no leaders though. I never followed anybody in school, neither lead nobody either. There were no role models in my school, just kids more or less the same like me with different skillsets.  Maybe I am too much of an outsider though.

I like to underexpose myself, because the most important thing for me is the mood. Well offcourse a shortfilm like the release of the C300 would be MUCH better marketing. But I liked this video of the vintage lens, and it does not look overly sharp. These are just quick test shots from the users, and not pieces of art that can stand on their own, So I am not bothered by the story or meaningfull moves, I am just looking at the image at this point. Stabilization at this point was not relevant for me, as its easy to stabilize this camera so I was not bothered with the handheld jitter. Nice to see how it performs handheld. A few pans couldnt hurt anybody though to see the rolling shutter. 

Well thats where prores comes in, a codec that edits like butter. Comparing vs the A7S III, panasonic full frame codecs. But I do agree a lot of users will switch back, because they want ibis and a camera that does all the work for them

And Dan, yes webrunner is right. It's a cultish following around the Pocket camera.
For example, I understand that Facebook targets each post to a subset of my followers on the EOSHD Facebook Page, depending on the subject. It's automatic, I don't have any control over it. But a lot of pitchforks came out for me today on Facebook which confused me because EOSHD supporters, followers and friends don't usually behave like that.... I know why this time was different, because Facebook had targeted a Blackmagic article at the Blackmagic hardcore fanatics and they didn't like what I had to say.
As for typical BM roll out, yes it is. Trade shows have less meaning to everybody outside the bubble. Most customers don't want to be teased for half a year or even more before they can get the damn camera in their hands. Blackmagic should stop syncing their announcements to NAB and instead put the announcement out a week before they start shipping.
The irony is, here I am feeling upset about being passed over for a camera in my hands... with a hardcore of Blackmagic users saying "what a crybaby EOSHD is" when at the last few camera launches, those very same people were moaning about not having a camera in their hands, because it's late or whatever.
At the end of the day, I reflect on the course this thread just took and I regret it. I stand by my hurt over the camera and snub, but I regret what's happened. Take what you read from everyone on forums with a pinch of salt including even yourself whilst saying it! And including me. I am not myself on the internet sometimes, nobody is. The internet is a weird simulation which is causing issues in real society across the globe all the time. It's not real life, it's a machine-assisted facsimile of it. John Brawley and I would not have behaved the same in real life. The internet is an argument generator and a distorted mirror and I might indeed have to shortly go to the pub and have a stiff drink.

Maybe you were'nt planning on the buying the camera anyway? Why anybody would get this discussion get in the middle of buying a camera is beyond me.

As far as I know they have not send the camera to any reviewer. Just to some people to shoot some stuff with. I do not know who hosted the bm event, or if you knew the guys who hosted it. But does it really matter, maybe they were planning on doing this on a later stage. Sure I would have loved to shoot a test video as well, as a lot of users here or have seen a review by you, but a company cannot do good for everybody. So don't take it personal, as reviews shouldnt be influenced by emotions either. So its not worth getting worked over for really. 
I dont think John works for BM. I am glad he is on the forum providing information and answering questions. Roger Deakins is a class apart offcourse, but he doesnt have the time to reply or answer questions all that often. 

Do you know what the max data transfer on the 5D IV is? Is it the same as on the 5D III? If so then it kinda sucks. I wish they would have used cfast 2.0 on the 5D IV. 
Because this wast the bottleneck on the 5D III right?  But maybe there is a possibility of dual slot? Writing one frame on the CF and one frame on the SD? Not sure if if possible? 
So what could we expect from the 5D IV RAW over the 5D III?
- 2K full frame RAW @ 60fps? continues
- Higher Iso (Not sure at this point until what point the 5D IV noise begins to settle in, the 5D III was iso 1600 max for me)
- 1 extra stop of DR
- Better playback
- HDMI for monitoring

As far as I'm aware the A7 series doesn't allow for broadcast codecs. Canon just gave us one, though. If people think the A7 series is in anyway in competition with their pro line then they are sorely mistaken. Let's see what happens to sales of the Fs5 if they give us 10 bit 60p internal as people seem to be thinking they will in the a7siii. They have been protecting their pro line, indisputably so.

180 degrees is the same as 1/50th at 25fps. It's the industry standard for unobtrusive motion so I don't know what he's talking about exactly. Might come down to personal preference for him.
