Totally disagree. The GH5 is possibly the best value proposition video camera out there. Its overpriced and oversized for an m43 photography camera but that's why they have the GX and other lines.

And mic-in. And proper C-AF. They can steal so much of the crowd that now buys a Canon G7X series cam for vlogging/quick behind the scenes schtuff.

Hoping for tilt screen and built in ND. I suspect not though.

It's not just about sensor size. Some of these companies are gonna need to bring something different to the market. Whether that be something to do with the ergonomics, sensor design or lens design. I would love one of these companies to bring out a very compact full frame camera along with very compact, but still fast glass. I'm talking l39/r39 sized lenses.  Some of us aren't that interested in edge to edge sharpness or flare control etc.

New topic, as this is quite a separate take and subject, to the original thread (which crashed and burned in so much shock / horror)
    https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/firing-james-gunn-disney-hurts-all-hollywood-1129691
    Says the respected journal:
"A creative industry requires artists like the 'Guardians' director who push boundaries, make (offensive) mistakes and evolve, writes Hollywood Reporter columnist Marc Bernardin...“To demand that every artist who works for you to have never had a past...is asking for people who will make boring art.”
Hopefully we can have a sensible debate this time...But please do read that article first. It's GOOD.

The difference between Nikkor AI and AI-S lenses seems to be primarily in the action of the rear aperture lever for auto-exposure.  I think AI'd lenses are non-AI lenses that have been converted to AI, merely by changing the aperture ring.

All of the lenses that you list are excellent, but the Nikkors have the longest flange-focal distance.  Consequently, the Nikkors will work on more cameras, adapters and focal reducers.  The speed of a Nikkor 50mm 1.4 could be helpful when shooting darkly lit dance performances, and you'll get an extra stop (and a full-frame look on your a6500) with the addition of a focal reducer.

I have a  non-AI Nikkor 50mm 1.4 and it has a lot of nice character.

This probably bugs me more than it should, but they always leave out the f45 part from the equivalent equation. Don't large numbers there sound equally impressive?
24-3000mm f15-45 suddenly sounds really stupid when it comes to light gathering.
4.2-532mm f2.8-8 is the real lens but I'm starting to think that is a stretch too. Although it is impressive zoom range tho, but why.

It is Really a Aperture Range: f/2.8-8 whether you like it or not. A 2.8 is a 2.8 is a 2.8 I don't care what camera it is on. This is a silly argument. Sounds like DPR.

In my imagination, they are the yuppy couple who've moved in next door to him and he's got a backyard full washing machines and Triumph moterbikes in various states of disassembly and in theirs they've got a hot tub and a mid life crisis Harley Davidson.
They think he plays AC/DC as an act of aggression and he thinks they have their teeth whitened in an act of passive aggression.

When you are in auto ISO the +-0 only shows the exposure compensation and not the meter reading.
You can test by changing the EV dial.
When you switch back to manual ISO then it shows the reading.

Ive mostly travelled with a 35mm equivalent lens for the last few years. But for the last week while I've been in Hong Kong I've been using a 24-85mm f3.5-4.5 and loving it. The combo is a lot bigger but it's not actually been all that bad, even in such an intensely dense city as Hong Kong. In fact I've been considering buying a 24-70mm f2.8 whilst I'm here

Just a quick update on my experience with the sigma mc-11. Some of the lenses I only had a few minutes to try
Yongnuo 35mm f2: Doesn't autofocus at all. That 35mm f2 look is awesome though.
Canon 50mm f1.8 stm: AF-S works well. Didn't have enough time to compare it against the Sony 50mm f1.8 Fe. The size of the adapter and lens is just slightly bigger than the Sony lens.
Sigma 17-35mm f2.8-4: I've been using the Nikon mount version of this lens for a couple years on Nikon, panasonic, canon and now Sony cameras.  One of my faves. The canon mount version on the sigma mc-11 does seem to attempt to autofocus but there's a big problem - the aperture stays locked at the smallest opening. Not sure if it was a fault of the particular lens.
Canon 24-85mm f3.5-4.5: af-s and c works well in stills. Continuous doesn't work in video. The focus ring is not smooth and has some play, making manual focus quite difficult. Other than that, it's a great lens with plenty of character (flaring, slight distortion, slight chromatic aberration). I'm not sure if I'm keeping it yet because of the manual focus problems. It would be perfect otherwise.

Inazuma reacted to CyclingBen in Fuji X-H1 Firmware Update 1.10
Finally did the update for the new X-H1 firmware yesterday.  Here are my first impressions:
Autofocus in AF-C is leaps and bounds better.  My test shots on some birds and physically walking up to and away a moving subject were very good.  Using the 16-55mm zoom lens it was able to accurately track my wife walking around the yard watering plants while I slowly walked from one end of the yard to another. Auto ISO transitions are super smooth and almost imperceptible. While I rarely use the Auto setting for video, it's nice to know I could use it in a conference or presentation situation and be okay. IBIS is slightly improved.  Using the fuji 16-55mm, a 45mm minolta and 55mm super tak I didn't find as many huge jumps and shifts while panning.  I'm sure this will be the focus of their next update. The overall system stability seems to be worse.  I had 3 write errors happen while just messing around with the camera. All three happened while shooting in manual with peaking turned on.  I'll be testing this more. Here is a link to the firmware if you're looking to upgrade
    http://www.fujifilm.com/support/digital_cameras/software/firmware/x/xh1/index.html
Overall a really good firmware update, looking forward to the '2.0' update that is rumored for September
