Avenger 2.0 reacted to Mattias Burling in need help adapting a helios 44-2 to gh4 with speedbooster
Ive had both and compared them side by side. The Viltrox is sharper on all apertures accept for wide open, has an adjustable back focus (no tools required) and its like a third of the price.
The only Metabones I would ever buy is the dedicated BMPCC version (which I currently own), used. Otherwise I would go Viltrox (I sold my Metabones XL).

Avenger 2.0 got a reaction from Kisaha in Canon 24-105L vs. Leica Prime Test
The Canon 24-105mm f/4.0 L lens just isn't a sharp lens. Bought my first one second hand and thought it was just too used because at 100% the image most of the time looked slight out of focus. Sold it and bought a new 24-105mm f/4.0 ii L and this one is even worse. Bought the Sigma 24-105mm f/4.0 and it is way sharper. The only good thing about the Canon is that it's weather proof when needed. Maybe for video still good, but for photography not sharp enough for professional use.

Avenger 2.0 got a reaction from Adam Kuźniar in Blackmagic to announce new camera related news at 12 noon PDT (8pm London)
Didn't know that. Mounted inside, smart!

Avenger 2.0 got a reaction from PolarStarArts in Camera Manufacturer Dead Pool
They better work on auto-focus then. I think the still market is too crowded and hardware wise way more complicated (weather sealing, ergonomics, battery life, etc).

Avenger 2.0 got a reaction from Juank in Rode Wireless Go - A Warning
You should steer away from those 2.4GHz solutions. The band is just too crowded and range too limited. Thanks for the warning, would have expected better from Rode.

Avenger 2.0 got a reaction from Eno in Adobe shambles - Why subscription software should be illegal
Adobe Lightroom is a good example. Luckily I still use the last perpetual license. It's only available now in an expansive plan with Photoshop which I never use. I downloaded the last Lightroom Classic Trial and I'm shocked to see that there are no major changes in the 2 year it was out. From what I can read on the Adobe forums, Ligthroom 6 is more stable than any version after that including the last Classic. Pay monthly to be an Adobe beta tester. No thanks!

Avenger 2.0 got a reaction from Kisaha in Is the Canon 90D around the corner?
Not sure what they will do. But highly doubt the 90D will be a mirrorless EF mount camera. That would effectively hurt their R mount platform and lenses.
Another rumour is that this 90D will replace the 7D2 and 80D, have dual sd card, clean HDMI and 4k cropless recording. Kind of feels to good to be true for the 80D price point. Would indeed hurt their full frame as the new sensor and specs would be better than the much more expensive 5D4.

Avenger 2.0 got a reaction from UncleBobsPhotography in Advanced NP-F charger with voltage limit
Bought one at HobbyKing in the past for my RC battery charging (where you can specify cut-off voltage) and modified it with NP-F battery plate to do this.

Avenger 2.0 got a reaction from PannySVHS in ENTRY VIDEOS: Find the best video quality for under $200 - fun EOSHD Challenge
Would be kind against the spirit of this contest (same reason ML raw is not allowed). Then one could also use an external ninja recorder with other camera's. I think the contest is to just use internal h264/etc of the camera.

I think everyone is afraid to be last and lose their camera ?

Should also be a price for the person using the cheapest camera and not ending up last

Avenger 2.0 got a reaction from IronFilm in ENTRY VIDEOS: Find the best video quality for under $200 - fun EOSHD Challenge
Good question. I think it would be more fair if it wasn't allowed. Just straight from camera using build-in picture profiles. We'll see what Andrew says.

Avenger 2.0 got a reaction from webrunner5 in Panasonic GH5 - all is revealed!
Indeed, I would to. Did however find a GH4 in mint condition for €200 (after I sold the 14-140mm lens for €300). But not planning to get it lost in the contest

Avenger 2.0 got a reaction from leslie in Video Editing Software
If you are serious about video you should learn Davinci Resolve. Otherwise free Windows Movie Maker for basic stuff if you want no real learning curve. Used myself PowerDirector in the past (small learning curve), but cannot recommand it now as it is moving towards subscription like Adobe...
