Pretty interesting that so many thought a cheap entry level camera would be more featured than the more expensive mid tier.

It's not as good as a full steadycam rig or the best gimbals. But imo better than any Glidecam I've seen.
They asked if I wanted to test it.

    Yes I have one.
No I don't think they have released it yet, its a crowd funding project.
Dont have to worry about batteries. Its not as versatile as a gimbal, can't turn it upside down. But for 99% of all the shots I would use a gimbal for it works just fine. No jitters like my Moza Air get from time to time.
Its kinda like a glidecam but not as annoying to get steady. Easier to use imo.

Imo the in body stabilization in the EOS-R is better than IBIS. Works perfectly without wobbly artifacts.

This nifty thing showed up a couple of days ago. Have been playing with it today and I really like it.
Its sweet to have it pretty much permanently sitting on the tripod. That way Im never to lazy to bring along a slider.

Did a quick revive as well.

It's a fact. Not anything to doubt. Otherwise they wouldn't make them.

I never shoot 4K on it but could you explain why it's extra needed on the EOS-R?
I find the iso very satisfying and don't see why it needs more lighr than any other camera.

To clarify once again, the Metabones Speedbooster for Sony E-Mount was popular, used by many and recommended by several reviewers to be used on the Full frame A7x.
We are talking about niche stuff here. Most that uses an adapter and definitely speed boosters are a minority of camera nerds. You can't apply what the general public like to stuff like speed boosters. Because they don't buy it anyway. Metabones entire business idea is to cater to camera nerds like us that are willing to jump through all kinds of hoops.
    I can confirm the opposite

He is just a one man band, no employees or anything so its comparable.

Thats one of the reasons I did the X-Pro2. You can just hit record at any time. Also one of the reasons I got the EOS-R.

So, let me get this straight...
A forum member (who contributes a lot to this place by the way) makes a cautionary post about having two separate failures of a camera model that many people on here may be looking to buy and the response is to criticise his work ?
Are you trying to suggest he broke these cameras by virtue of taking photographs that you don't particularly like ?
    Have I got that right?
That both of these cameras self destructed on the grounds of taste?
Because if you are not suggesting that then you need to accept that your contribution to this particular thread is as irrelevant as it is mean spirited.

I totally understand. Even if it was just two lemons a thing like this just puts a strain on the trust in the camera. For casual use I can live with quirkiness but for work I need to know the gear is 100% at all times. This is why I didn't keep my a6300 or bought the a6500. I got three lemon a6300 from separate batches.. the trust is gone.

Mattias Burling got a reaction from tweak in EOS R does NOT lack sharpness in 4K - Here's proof
Maybe you can help bring some light to my original question.
Imo Sony are the once that doesn't match the Canon specs at the same price. Which is ok, we all have different preferences.
But you won't see me accusing people who like the A7iii to be apologists, fanboys, etc. I just figure they are willing to live with a camera crippled in some respects because its excelling in others. In the very same way that a Canon, Nikon, Panasonic, BMD user would.
But my observation that I find weird is that its trendy to bash Canon reviews, canon marketing trips (ignoring Sonys) and in some instances Canon users..
Why do you think that is?
(Im not saying you are doing all of these things, Im just asking since you seem to feel strongly about the subject.)
My theory is because its big and mainstream.
Exactly, but why does it seem so brand dependent?

Mattias Burling got a reaction from Castorp in EOS R does NOT lack sharpness in 4K - Here's proof
I agree with a lot of this. But it is user dependent. Looking at it from a Canon user perspective its Canon that push boundaries and offer innovative technology while Sony are holding back.
It all depends on who you ask, no right or wrong. But if someone makes a review saying that they are willing to live with the missing features and shortcomings of the A7iii thats ok. Just their opinion. If the same guy says the same thing about a Canon he is a payed idiot fanboy.
But you are right, Sony gets a lot of flak for menus, skin tones, etc. But not their users in the same way that Canons do.
Since I have a youtube channel with a fairly large number of comments from the average camera dudes on line and read alll of them. I get a pretty good picture of the over all tone. And rarely if not never do I see Sony, Panasonic or Fuji users called "paid", "idiots", "fanboys" etc. But a Canon and Leica users are receiving it daily.
With Leica its easier to understand since it has so much to do with the price and the fact that you really need to be a photographer to "get" Leica, not just a camera dude. But Canon has products in all tiers and prices.
Your right, it is an interesting discussion.

It's more to color than white balance, although corrected does put them more equal it's still very apparent the difference in rendering many shades of green vs just a few.
I think the point was that 90% of ppl showed bias when shown brand names instead of numbers and answered differently because of this.
