Best 4k phone with add-on lenses

Recommended Posts

How that the CM1 seems like a video dud can someone recommend a 4k phone for video with add-on lenses available?  Now that I'm back in NYC I am constantly discovering things to shoot and want to make sure have the best phone since I don't like always having to carry a camera.

Also, would a 4k phone need a telephoto lens or would zooming in (finishing in 1080) during post or using the digital zoom when filming work just as good?

Just get used to carrying it more and you'll be fine. A much better solution for producing images compared to a cell phone, you should pay the small inconvenience of carrying it if you care about image-making at all, if you don't and just want to capture moments, an Iphone is the best and most convenient. Carry an LX100 in your jacket pocket/small bag and be done with it, that's my advice.

If walk-around run & gun is your thing I recommend the A7 Mark II with the 5 axis stabilisation. Bigger than a phone and an extra device to carry but in my view, good stabilisation for that kind of thing is more important than 4K. The 4K you would get from a phone would barely be any more detailed than 1080p and it would look compressed, clipped, limited dynamic range, video-ish. Interchangeable lenses on a large sensor are the way to go for video if you don't want it to look like rubbish.

Best bet is a Samsung. I don't know if the quality will be the best (it's certainly decent at least) but if you want accessories, you should stick to the biggest player, which ensures a wider selection of third party accessories.

Hey all, I'm looking to shoot a narrative short film with controlled lighting early next year and am thinking about shooting it on my original BMPCC...
I know, I know. No 4K, terrible low-light, and horrible battery life. But if 1080p was fine, controlled lighting throughout, and an external battery solution, is it better for me to use the original and cancel my 4K pre-order? I could use the money saved to pay for an additional cine prime/actually pay actors a decent wage...
What would be the advantages in this case of using the 4K over the original?

Hello all. I am selling my Atomos Ninja Flame set. Very nice set. Has only 15-20 hours of use. Extremely clean, and well maintained. I treat all of my gear with care and respect. This is a beautiful set! Almost like-new! $795.00 - plus shipping (insured at full $795). PayPal only.

It's hard to part with the recorder, because it is a great tool, and an amazing monitor - but all my main cameras have 4K built-in now, and I just never get to use it. I want it to go to a good home, where it will get a lot of use.
Includes: Atomos Ninja Flame monitor/recorder, Hard case, NEW sun hood, original set of 5 master caddies, original charger, (2) original Atomos batteries, docking station, HDMI cable, original manual, NEW microfiber cleaning cloth, coiled D-tap to DC cable (never used), 2 power cords (one hasn't left packaging), Control Cable (2.5mm Female to 2x 2.5mm Male). Check out the pictures and see how well maintained and what a deal this is!

Thank you for looking and best wishes!

I just got a brand new 1dx Mark II, I’m using a SanDisk cf card, not a cfast card. I recorded a lot of 4K footage, and about half of it came back corrupted - I could view it in the camera, but not on the computer. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Can I get the footage repaired? I can’t find anyone else who has had this problem so far.
