  1. I've only ever used it on the A6300 and all the Pana GH cameras. Never could get reliable results without using a larger external monitor. I've never used Canon or the A7 series tho
  2. I've never found peaking useful, but maybe the cameras I've used all had it poorly implemented.
  3. wasn't aware the 7III had it, great feature
  4. Definitely a good choice, significant upgrade from a GH4.
  5. Its just the function that zooms in on the image so you can see if you are focused. All cameras can do this but only the fuji does while you are recording. (for hybrid cameras that is).
  6. I really like B&H, they are very competitive when it comes to pricing. I usually only do Amazon for used stuff same as ebay. I prefer ebay as they seem less corporate. Better yet 1 on 1 cash deals.
  7. I have a feeling the A7S3 will be underwhelming compared to a lot of these specs we're seeing
  8. The punch in while recording is super useful for manual focus.
  9. Gonna get it today. Mainly interested in HLG and if its any better at high ISO's or with DR.
  10. Can't really say I agree. You don't need a 10 bit monitor to utilize 10 bit, you don't need a monitor to display 15 stops to utilize an Alexa's DR, and you don't need a 4k monitor to benefit from 4k. That said I was heavily considering the C100 but the auto focus was just not good enough for me (center only). I agree that any of these hybrid cameras are not the best A cams in regards to form factor and you're right there is no step up above an XT3. You can always use them as a b cam but lenses wouldn't be compatible across the board.
  11. They aren't on top anymore though, well I'd argue since the release of the GH5 they haven't been. I actually haven't really noticed Sony fanboyism though. I've noticed a lot of Fuji fan boys though. Maybe its because I don't watch many sony product reviews or anything like that.
  12. That link is pretty interesting. The XH1 holds up well considering its price and size.
  13. Interesting So the Arri Alexa has 14 stops while the Amira 13? How do Red cameras do with Dynamic range I wonder. I know RED claims 18 stops with some of their cameras.
  14. Yeah they did here lol, not the Cinema 5d website but they use one of their charts. https://nofilmschool.com/2014/07/sony-a7s-dynamic-range-arri-alexa-amira
  15. I just got the Adobe Creative suite. Not really excited about it but in terms of work a lot of companies like when you know how to use Premiere and After Effects.
  16. Yeah the Sandisk V30 work for me as well in 400mbps. They don't work on the GH5 but they do on the XT3
  17. To be fair I believe Cinema 5d used Vlog to test the GH5. People have said HLG results in higher dynamic range.
  18. I would probably be happy with 13 stops of dynamic range. 1.4 higher then the BMP4K and still higher then the FS7 and Ursa Mini. Alexa equivalent dynamic range would be incredible though. Eagerly awaiting more news.
  19. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1EwZE4VEth8ri4YYDtqIozP9Xsg7PSX5g?fbclid=IwAR3C6M9YB3uAzsKTM6RjzbbgP76fjZtOHzbBqjKgPZ1C2KkuTjih0uMh-zU They released footage comparing the Alexa to the Z Cam E2 in Zlog2. They claim it has better dynamic range then the Alexa. I haven't downloaded the footage yet, but let me know what you guys think. If its true, its pretty incredible. Zlog2 only works up to 30fps but still, this is a $2000 camera.
  20. I find prores to be faster editing then H264 long gop 4k. Colors don't improve as you can't improve on what is recorded internally.
