  1. Auto focus doesn't always work, manual focus.
  2. If you are just slowing down to 24p then yes 180 is the norm, though you can go higher.
  3. Has Cinema 5D done a recent test on the 1DX dynamic range recently? Because they used to rate the A7SII at 13 or 14 stops and now they say it has 10.5 or something. If they did a test a long time ago it probably is not on par with their current testing methods.
  4. You have to change the speed in post. Rendering a video playing at 60 frames per second in 24 frames per second will simply delete frames.
  5. I am assuming you'll slow the 60 frame videos down to 24 frames, hence they will be 24 fps not 60, so it should also be rendered at 24fps. For slow motion 120 shutter or 200 or even higher is fine.
  6. If you want the 30fps look don't do a 24p timeline, do a 30p timeline. Bring the 60p video down to 30fps, to match the rest.
  7. Wild Ranger, that is some of the nicest footage I've seen in a while off any hybrid camera.
  8. When you shoot in 60p and bring down to 24 in post are you using proper Shutter speed. Should be 120 shutter speed for smooth 60fps if using for slow motion.
  9. Wouldn't really matter for me. 24p is the movie cinema look, as almost every film has been shot in 24 frames per second. There isn't a lot of movement where the frame rate would be that noticeable during an interview imo.
  10. I am not really sure about the A7III being better in low light then the A7SIII. When you get into the higher ISO's heavier NR is apparent and the image is softer. 36mp is also a big jump from 26mp. We'll see I guess.
  11. They look the same in MurtlandPhoto's examples. I think in more extreme conditions the BMPC4k would pull ahead. But obviously in a more normal settings they can look almost indistinguishable.
  12. I think a lot of people just don't take time to change settings. I use the focus speed settings to do slow rack pulls. I did a shot where I focused from one end of a table to the side near the camera (long table), and I adjusted the speed so it would be a 7 second pull. My A6300 was super fast, I don't think you could change the speed, though I don't remember.
  13. If I need high ISO's I try to use 4k otherwise I think 2k is great. I never reframe in post though.
  14. I have not used the Nikon but with the XT3 you can adjust how fast the camera focuses. So there really are no jumps if you don't want there to be.
  15. The XT3 and XT2 ISO performance is basically exactly the same in terms of noise at high ISO. You have the interframe Noise reduction option when recording in 4k under 30p, which may be a nice option the XT2 doesn't have. There is probably less color shift at high isos too, but in terms of noise its the same.
  16. Noope no grading or anything. I didn't ETTR, just kind of shot how I thought it would look good. The lens was a 23mm F2 fuji. You might be able to get one cheaper in a couple months. If Sony ever releases their A7000, I am sure the XT3 price will drop a bit.
  17. I have heard that Fuji's motion looks more cinematic then the BMP4K. Personally I can never really notice differences in motion cadence. The Black Magic rolling shutter is less, closer to a cinema camera. While the XT3's is still very respectable, better then the hybrid competition (other then the GH5). I agree with Django, this camera really is a killer. I think the BMP4K is just as much a killer though. RAW, Prores, 4k high speed for $1000, are you kidding me? Its high ISO performance is probably better then a lot of RED cameras or Arri. That said the continuous auto focus was what really sold me with the XT3. 10 bit, fuji color, excellent high speed, and amazing continuous auto focus. I don't think the XH2 is coming until 2020. I had sharpness on -4 here so its a good example of how organic or not organic the image is.
  18. You could get a Atomos recorder for the NX1 and do prores. The BMP4K is a heck of a deal at $1300 tho. You'll lose Continuous auto focus tho.
