  1. Thank you! Now that you mention it I agree, it probably would have worked better if the antagonist walked faster in that middle shot. The light that keeps turning on and off in the short lit that portion of the shot, though I did gel it as it was too harsh. The light that appeared to be coming from the PC was not from the PC. I used an open faced LED for that, which was diffused. There was also a light placed outside the window. I am glad it appeared natural, as that was the look I was going for. I shot it with a Fuji XT20, though I kept the ISO very low (200-400 I believe).
  2. Yes! I am excited for HLG. Also looking forward to using film simulation luts to monitor log. I wonder if they will have more luts for vlog other then eterna(classic chrome maybe?)
  3. If you want to do 10bit I think the EVA1 comes out on top as you get it internal. If you are doing RAW, the canon has it internal. That said if you are using an external recorder anyways the Canon is probably top dog with the auto focus. Not sure on low light, the Panasonic dual iso looks very nice at 5000.
  4. I am all for bigger bodies as it means better stabilization. I just want a GH5S with Olympus IBIS, (ideally pocket 4k?)
  5. I am thinking its not a 40mp sensor, rather it has a mode that stitches several photos together to get 40mp. I think the G9 has a mode that does something like this. 40mp would be interesting though but not any good in low light.
  6. Thank you for the feedback! I think you make good points. I wasn't really happy with the sound edit.
  7. Sure, if someone shows the GH5 beating an XT3 or A7III I'll believe it. However just because panasonic releases a new firmware addressing auto focus doesn't automatically make me think its now operating as well as the two previously mentioned cameras. They've already made like 3 firmware updates addressing auto focus.
  8. Being able to choose in face auto focus is a really essential feature. Glad they are including it. Hopefully other companies will follow suit (fuji ahem)
  9. There is such a thing as a logical assumption. The XT3 has better high speed video then the GH5 or S, so I am content regardless.
  10. None of the tests I've seen show auto focus that compares to Sony or Fuji. So there is no reason to believe a contrast detect system is going to magically beat systems that have inherently superior hybrid contrast/phase systems in them, especially in low contrast or back lit situations. The last firmware I had on my GH5 was a lot better, usable at least. But its way behind the fuji. Its not prejudice. A system with only contrast detection is lesser technology then one that has both.

  12. The new updates definitely seem a lot better then before. Still can't compare with Sony or Fuji unfortunately. Its the old contrast detect system.
  13. I was as well but I left as Auto focus wasn't good enough for me. Their bodies were really great though. Can't beat the feel and size of the GH5. The GH4 was really nice too.
  14. I've heard reports of Canon and Sony cameras dying abruptly too. I am not really worried though. I always bring back ups in case of such a thing. I've heard of RED cameras abruptly going bad, its just the nature of tech IMO. If you really need 100% reliability you just have to be prepared for such a break down. I guess its always possible that your main camera and 2 back ups all break down, but its a freak of nature. I'll definitely be getting the BMP 4K though I feel like it will be outdated in a short period of time. I guess that is the case with all cameras though.
  15. I keep hearing how everybody just comments on trivial things and complains these days so I thought I'd go ahead and make a thread where I post my creative videos (maybe some of my paid stuff too). I make video's on a fairly frequent basis, so I thought it could merit a thread. Anyways here is a short I posted on youtube recently. I am liking the super short video format lately. Have a bunch of 1 minute short projects planned for this month (for the film riot competition).
  16. Well of course. I don't think the body being cheap is uneducated though. You could take bodies in the same price range that are much nicer. But yes its a revolutionary camera. You can say the same about the GH5 though or the Fuji XT3 etc...
  17. Yes but at least it gives the companies a reason to constantly improve. ?
  18. Yeah its really a bummer when the exterior is shitty. Handling is a big part of using a camera. I wouldn't mind it being $200 more for a better body. I don't know, we are probably just too picky. Its still a banging deal for the price.
  19. saw this in the A7III thread, good comparison.
  20. Brings it back to EOS HD too. Really weird. I looked it up on google and it brings me to EOS HD as well.
  21. I have heard about Sony and canon cameras going bad. I wouldn't cross fuji off just yet. If you move to a place like the USA you'd get it. People spend a ton on hobbies. Someone might buy a camera just because it makes them happy not because they need it. Its not different then an expensive car. Nobody needs a super fast car, or to eat at expensive restaurants, or to buy expensive alcohol, or whatever it is, but they like it.
  22. I am guessing DBounce was being sarcastic but its hard to tell online. Nice to see some encouraging thoughts around here though. That said I am not surprised someone would drop that cash on a hobby. I used to do World War 2 reenacting, people would purchase vehicles that cost twice as much as my parents house. Because they liked it.
  23. Yeah now that you point it out it definitely has a noticeable blue shift.
