tonysss got a reaction from Kisaha in Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4K
This is available for free, new 3D LUT for BMPCC4K (inspired by the industry standard Arri - Rec709)
The LUT is currently available for Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera (BMPCC4K, BMPCC6K, orig. BMPCC) I've been bothering a lot of different LUTs for a long time... until I created my own
    http://tondadamborsky.cz/2020/03/19/lut-for-bmpcc4k/
BMPCC4K has warmer colors i recommend u bmpcc4k - WB set slightly to minus (-300,500) than other cameras or orig.Pocket (BMMCC)
I hope, you will like it. I tried to keep the max dynamic range, and natural skin color.

What a shit stirrer. A ban is coming on at least 10 members because you are basically toxic people.
I am not going to sit here and let you turn the forum toxic with your racism and America First fuck the rest of us delusion.
You will need the Germans when the vaccine is ready.
You need the British when you want a camera forum, apparently.
But being grateful or thankful apparently isn't a part of your brain that lights up very much.
Therefore you don't deserve to be a member of this forum.
It's that simple. Enjoy your time here while it lasts because I am going to blanket ban toxic thickos tomorrow.
For the other idiots and patriot racists who are coming out of the woodwork, you're time's up.
Camera forums deserve a basic morality going on.
If you are trying to gain exclusivity over a coronavirus remedy, it's nothing more than a profit grab and a death sentence for others. The science community is a global one. All important science needs to be a world effort especially with a pandemic like this.
People are slowly realising what America First really means and what does this for America's image in the world. It fucking tarnishes it, to say the least. You have a President who is destroying any remaining appeal of American identity and idealism in the eyes of 80% of the world's population.
Be a good neighbour and you may get a German or Japanese coronavirus medicine at the same time as the rest of us.
And if you think your own people and flag is so much better than the others, develop your own fucking vaccine.
Like I say, I have tolerated gobshites all my life but time's up.
Yes I do remember the behaviour on the Titanic.
Having an exclusive deal on a pandemic vaccine isn't IN YOUR FUCKING BEST INTERESTS YOU FUCKWIT
You really are as fuckwitted as it gets... aren't you?
You consider shafting the world some kind of "victory"
You don't live in a fucking bubble.
You are a human being on planet Earth before you're an American.

tonysss reacted to kye in Panasonic GH5 - all is revealed!
I think the GH5 is a sleeper camera, along with many others like the UMP, C100, etc.
These cameras are good enough quality so the images easily meet a professional standard, aren't fancy or odd enough to be bragged about, and aren't used on large productions that have interviews with the cinematographer.
People talk when someone shoots a feature film on an iPhone because the perception is it's not good enough.  People talk when someone shoots a project with a camera that is fancy or odd, or when the camera doesn't traditionally suit the project.  and if a film has a huge budget and wins awards then everyone gets interviewed and there are four paragraphs about the lens choices and the phrase 'colour science' gets mentioned.
But when someone shoots a documentary / ad / training course / low-budget series / short / or indy feature with a sensible and capable camera, there's no press about it.  That's the GH5, XT-3, UMP, C100, etc etc.
I would be very curious to see what percentage of all edited content consumed is shot on these types of cameras.  I think it might be a quarter.  But that's the point - we'd never know, because it's not remarkable.  Therefore no remarks are made, and we don't hear about it.
These are the cameras of the people quietly working outside the limelight and delivering good quality content.

This whole discussion is absurd. Why do we need Netflix to determine the value of a camera based on some unknown and abstruse criteria. The whole thing is speculation. Make up your OWN MIND by looking and testing the images. 10 bit is still 10 bit though.  The traditional Japanese companies won't give you internal raw, and that's why most people will pick the blackmagic at half the price. If you pick a camera based on what Netflix says, you are in a dream land, and to suggest it is some arbiter of quality is even more fanciful - cause no one here can say what the criteria is. Not to mention that some of the best cameras ever made aren't on the list.

A couple of screen-grabs from a recent Sofar Concert I shot. Shot with the 70-200 2.8, all in 4k 10bit HLG, graded with Filmconvert Nitrate in a couple of minutes.

    Thank you!
Made this the other day. Shot in HLG using the leica 12-60 and a few shots with sigma 18-35. Graded it with filmconvert nitrate in Premiere Pro and I am not kidding when I say it only took ten minutes for the grade. Very impressive plugin.

tonysss got a reaction from osmanovic in Giving the BMPCC4K the same look as the BMPCC and BMMCC
No, the look is different, the new pocket 4k is worse...
    today's test:
BMMCC - best colors and overall look , a little noisy picture, but the noise is pleasant. Moire problem. But overall he is the winner! (Slowmo 60p)
at ISO 400 is slightly cleaner in the shadows. (Native is 800) . It is not a modern clear picture, but as a best film emulation.
BMPCC (orig) - same as BMMCC but only 30p (a little more noise and moire than BMMCC)
BMPCC4K - worse colors and overall picture is shifted to yellow-red?  sharp highlights rolloff ? the picture is far more difficult to correct and color than the old pocket ?
the picture is cleaner , but it gets a "video look" ,  The shape of the body is terrible.  I gave a second chance and really didn't ... I put it back.
GH5 - The best tool for run & shot - Worse colors than BMPCC4K but not much, excelent IBIS ! , battery life, adjustable display and viewfinder. Very economical codec for all day shooting. It's a winner if you need quick and comfortable shooting.  It is a modern clear picture. Winner for RUN & GUN Shooting

So everything stays the same, I keep GH5 for modern picture style, BMMCC for film emulation project.
    BMPCC4K - not necessary ?

I agree with you. The camera can work well in most environments with some accessories.
I work a lot of live events where I only get one shot and there are no retakes. I frequently use the P4K/P6K cameras on a shoulder rig, with a big battery and a follow focus. In that environment, they work well. I am still sorting the straight out of camera colors for our live broadcasts, but I am fairly happy with this setup.
I am not really happy with the camera when I have to use the camera handheld in a rapidly changing environment. I guess it just comes down to the effort needed to get great footage. Sometimes grabbing an S1H, GH5, or an A7III is going to give you more usable footage. Different cameras for different jobs

While the P4K/P6K *could* be used in the situations they show in those ads, I am not sure that I would chose the P4K/P6K cameras for those settings. As I have said many times, I love the P4K & P6K cameras and the options they provide. But, in a rapidly moving run/gun situation, I have found them challenging to work with. The one-touch AF is slow (at best) and the battery life is poor (unless you use an external NP or v-mount). Perhaps your @BTM_Pix AF solution will help in this area. If I have time to set up and can use sticks, give me the P4K/P6K every time. If I have to go handheld or move fast, I generally take something else (GH5/GH5s, etc.).

Here is also BMMCC overexpose test.
Technically digital sensors don't have such a thing as overexposure and there is nothing to test there because sensors itself don't have any highlights rolloff. They capture light in linear gamma and hard clipped in one single point. Next that linear data converted to LOG gamma specially designed for each sensor model. And next Color Science converts Log to normal gamma and shapes final image look. So mostly overexpose look is a part of software, but not a part of a sensor hardware itself
I use different lighting direction in this test to provide extreme bright light, so these images don't exact match to previous tests. As before i use REDLog3G10/REDWideGamutRGB as timeline gamma. Other gammas and other Log to Rec conversion methods may provide different look of highlight rolloff clipping.

And the same with Highlights Recovery turned OFF:
