Juxx989 got a reaction from SMGJohn in NX-1 vs 5D4 vs GH5 Test series
Found another video this one is NX1 vs GH5 straight up... I believe hes a Korean brother... Figured I would post here rather than make a new thread...
It seems the NX-1 is way sharper (can be good or bad depending) and the 10bit color on GH5 does look a little "Thicker" but I could easily get them to match in resolve...
also I dont think he has NX-1 is in standard color profile if you dont want to correct much it looks great..
Guess im not the only one going down with the Samsung ship! Trapped in a velvet coffin!
That is all..

Juxx989 reacted to Fredrik Lyhne in New video shot using Canon 1DX Mkii and Sony A7ii
I shot another yoga video with and this time with a lavalier. The language might be a little strange to some but it works pretty good I think. I had to shoot with the GH3 as I sold my GH4 when I got the GX85. Didn't think we had to wait this long for the GH5...

I agree with what Geoff said. Otherwise it looks good I think. If you're gonna make more videos like this I would check out CodyApp for inspiration. Like this one for example: https://www.codyapp.com/plans/true-strength-evolution?ref=soh_fp_all_4
I actually made a few yoga videos too and will be making more in a couple of months. It's nice to see how others are doing it so thanks for sharing! My videos are a bit simpler and with music instead, but maybe it's helpful to see something different? Have a look if you want:

Juxx989 reacted to LorenzHideyoshi in Saigon Vietnam - GH4 travel film
Hey there,
first time posting here, just wanted to drop one of my recent films here which I shot while in Vietnam.
Used a DEC Lens Regain and simple Canon 18-135mm kit lens (which became 2.8) btw. Love how it enables IS on Canon glass. LUT grading.
Cheers for looking

Well he does have some good points. It is pretty much about creating shadows, and sometimes the lack of them.

Harold is having a birthday party for himself. The only problem: he doesn't have any friends.
Here's a bonus video I made with leftover footage:

We all are Zach!- Camera admirers on a quest for that beautiful essential way of shooting and creating. With the right camera in hands, which is
imposing that direct approach on us, enabling us to be in touch and in love with the filming experience and topic.
I have been thinking about an a6000 lately and here it is, a beautiful video shot by Matt of this forum.
Love the coincidences and incidences on this forum. Love this forum. Love your guys´ contributions. Love your quirkyness, creativity and joy!

Juxx989 reacted to Alex Moreán in Ink and Stone
Hi guys,
I've been traveling around with my A7SII for eight months now. I started this trip in part to launch my career as a freelancer (at least when I make it back home) and also to travel a lot before life gets "real" (as I was already stuck in an office but felt it was too soon for that).
This was the first piece I created when I was in Canada, and there are many to follow, but for some reason I never posted them here.
Here it goes:
Let me know your thoughts,
Thanks for watching!

Juxx989 reacted to Ehetyz in Homecoming - BMCC Short film trailer
Here's a trailer for a short film I've been working on, called Homecoming. It's a neo-noir revenge film set in the mid-90's recession era Finland.
We shot it on and off during the early spring and late fall of 2016. Originally we were supposed to wrap the whole movie during spring with one flashback scene shot in the summer, but we had continuous trouble with the weather and with the health of several crewmembers. I spent the first week of shoot on a high fever and was functioning on painkillers alone, and later when we were supposed to shoot the finale our lead actor became bedridden with measles and we had to postpone the finale to late fall.
But now it's slowly coming together and it's starting look like an actual movie.
The trailer is NSFW, it contains some extreme violent images.
(Click CC for english subs)
We shot the movie 95% on BMCC 2,5K EF, with some shots here and there taken with 5D2 ML RAW and Sony RX10 MK2. I'm using kodachrome LUT as the basis for the post-process, with heavy color separation and high midtone sharpness to give the BMCC footage an 80's film/RED footage kind of pop. A lot of visual cues are taken from Scandinavian/Finnish films from the 80's and 90's.
The movie was mainly shot with Sigma 18-35 1.8, Super-Takumar 50 1.4, Samyang 85 1.4 and Tair 11A 135 2.8, with some special shots shot on Petzval 85 2.2. I often use diffusers and other physical filters but here they're used very sparingly, only on flashback scenes. Instead I went with self-made vignetters to shape bokeh on the daytime scenes to look like brushstrokes or scattered drops. The effect is not very obvious in the trailer as it focuses on nightscenes.
If you have any questions about the process or the movie, shoot away!

Juxx989 reacted to fuzzynormal in American Film
Not my work, but certainly one of the most "American" movies I've seen in years. If you live overseas and your vision of USA culture is what you distill from Hollywood, well, here's something a little more accurate to the world many of us grew up with: https://vimeo.com/96897402

Juxx989 reacted to fuzzynormal in Post Tech
Cool answers. As mentioned, no right or wrong answers. I suppose it's a loaded question, sure. Technical accomplishment vs. an artistic one.
I find it compelling because of my personal experiences. I mean, my main gig throughout most of my career (and still if I'm being honest) was mid-budget corporate stuff. So I did a bunch of things with decent gear, looked clean and slick, but was boring as heck.
Myself, I find the goofy kid in Sundance more interesting as, to me, it has a sort of ramshackle Andy Kaufman satirization vibe to it. Also he has a unique "voice." he can take poorly shot video and manipulate the context of it to tell a curious story. Thus, it's not "bad" footage at that point. No small feat.
