I cannot be bothered to look for any statistics, but I doubt Nikon or anyone else for that matter lost any sales, because they didn't sell f1.2 or f0.95 AF lenses. These are such niche products, it's ridicules. DOF is simply to shallow to be used often and f1.4 is very comparable.

If 4K has DPAF and no crop, this thing will destroy Sony/Nikon sales, no doubt. And because it is Canon, 3rd party lens producers will all speed up development of lenses for it.
We all know Canon can do it (though the mount is still a mystery), but hasn't done it so far, because they are very careful at cannibalizing their existing models.

Any environmentalist worth his/her salt would immediately point out to his dislike of public transportation. His vision is the same car-centric gridlocked cities, but with electric vehicles. So, I wish him a lot of success, but the is not a true visionary, just a capitalist that is driving the current trends. He also has made some ridicules comments regarding media, which is worrisome.
Tesla is a bit like Sony - very innovative, but once the established forces pick up on the tech, they will drown it out simply with their manufacturing might and retail presence.

If you ever done a trick on a skateboard, timing is everything. A single flatground trick lasts less that a second and the duration of the clip.
The degraded IQ (zoomed in?) and Ty Evans' general affliction of all new gear, I would imagine he used a Phantom camera. Spinning that beast with exactly the same speed as the skateboard, triggering the spin at the exact same moment (we are talking miliseconds here), while nailing the manual focus seems highly improbably.
There is the 1% chance it was done this way, just because a professional skateboarder would be able to a few hundred takes with such a basic trick if needed.

If any of the rumored specs would be true, they would begin with the mount and none have. These are just wish-lists.

TIL that you are a professional photographer (the one's that matter, anyway) if you shoot meaningless sports spectacles, where you basically spray and pray for two hours and then brag about the cost of your telephoto lenses.
Maybe we should ask some wedding photographers that might even like a lighter, smaller body, since they handle their cams for many more hours per working day. Or maybe there are different tools for different jobs? Sports photographers already have "the perfect tools", so why are you complaining about a product that could be heaven-sent for most and just not big enough for you?

Either we are talking at cross purposes or you are missing my point completely.
I think that it would be totally 'wrong' and 'incredibly inadvisable' for mirrorless camera manufacturers to design or redesign their cameras based on the 'perceived ergonomics of pro photographers'. Pro photogs only make up around 2% of ILC camera buyers and the other 98% dont have the same habits. In the same vein, you talk about 'buttons and dials' needing to be bigger while smartphone users (99% of photographers) dont actually use them at all.
It seems 'pro photogs' want mirrorless companies to build cameras that closely resemble 'DSLRs'. Does this make sense? Since 2012 DSLR sales have halved in value. Since 2012 mirrorless ILC sales have increased 77% in value. So it literally makes no sense at all for 'pros' to keep telling mirrorless camera companies to go copy a failing business strategy. It should be 'pretty obvious' that mirrorless cameras are succeeding because they are 'different' from DSLRs not because they are striving to be the 'same'.

Some of us with smaller hands actually like the size of the A7 series of cameras. Before to get one of the higher end models you had to get some large and even mid range DSLRS feel massive and awkward. You can make the A7 a big larger with the grip but it's hard to make a camera smaller than it already is.
It's great to finally have some different size options available across the market, it's highly unlikely there will ever be a one size fits all camera unless it's modular.

Panasonic and Olympus are hard proof that 4K processing can be a non-issue even in small bodies (as was Samsung with NX500). This is proprietary know-how and that is why Fuji, Sony, Canon and Nikon struggle with their implementation. When one brand figures it out, they don't go rushing to the competition to share their knowledge. And the issue lies with processing power and the heat generated from CPU and not so much the sensor - a hot sensor will only read more noise, but will not melt the whole camera body.

Haha, this is soooo offtopic and,  ... wait for it ..., stupid. Film-makers drawing conclusions about people's intelligence based on which cameras they buy. And some even telling their children that 3/4 off them are dumb and presuming that their own offspring don't act stupid in any situation. I mean, you could make a case that a lot of people just don't put in the effort for some critical thinking, but there is always some reason behind seemingly "stupid" behavior.
I've stated more than once, that most consumers don't salivate over specs and message boards for the best gear, since a day only has 24 hours and we all need to prioritize. We/they need to believe that a sales person is aware that a satisfied customer returns and the customer you sell shit to, does not. And even on this forum, we can agree that a DPAF and the simplicity of use of Canon's products is something you would sell to a non-tech-savvy customer and that a film-maker will not even need advice in the store, but will have had made his decision at home.

This thing shits all over the D850 and will probably beat it at video. Where is all the hate coming from? GH5 is competing with the a7S line, but it cannot hold a photo candle to the a7R line. Leica is a niche product with a price to match. I guess you are all about the color science and even that is said to be improved on the a7RIII, so wait and see, this thing is impressive:

USB charging has been a feature on Sony bodies for a while now. I think that the mark II series was the first to allow charging while in use too, so many people used a power bank for longer shoots. Mark III has microUSB and USB-C and you use both to charge (depending on the cable you have available) or you can use one for charging an the other for some sort of camera control (intervalometer? tethering?).

"The wide-angle Sony CIS has a die size of 6.29 mm x 5.21 mm (32.8 mm2). This compares to a 32.3 mm2 die size for iPhone 7’s wide-angle CIS. We fast-tracked the die photographs for this teardown blog so didn’t record the color filter images today, however we can confirm a 1.22 µm pixel pitch."
