I saw this as a facebook ad, the info and  branding etc scream "fantasma" , "ghost" in spanish. That's how we call patological bluffers.

why are we comparing footage from a FHD camera released 5 years ago with a S16 size sensor to an upcoming camera that shoots 4K with brand new M4/3 size sensor, 4th generation color science and featuring dual native ISO?
the only thing the original pocket & the upcoming pocket 4K share in common is the "pocket" moniker and even that is misleading imo.
if anything the IQ will be closer to a GH5S without NR/Sharpening, and with BMDs Film/Log profile, color science & pro res / raw recording support.

That's true  - particularly in the examples above where grain has been added in post, but sometimes that look can be nice! If you want a modern and sharp but still pleasant looking image - with the new SD card overclock module the EOS M can record 2520x1072 raw continuously (using a 3.33x crop from 35mm full frame / approx 16mm size). The module is still very experimental so just waiting a bit longer until hopefully it will be easier to use!
That's incredible, thanks so much for doing this and look forward to hearing more about your results!
@Nikkor  There are no pink dots when recording in lossless 10 or 12 bit raw, but they do still appear in all the other raw formats. In any case this isn't an issue any longer as modern mlv transcoding programs such as MLV App use a focus pixel map to automatically get rid of all the dots (without requiring chroma smoothing), so you won't even know they were ever there.
However, the EOS M still can't do 1080p when shooting full sensor raw, it stays at 720p and therefore there's a huge amount of moire. They were looking to find a way around that issue but that didn't seem to go anywhere. Here's the thread about that: https://www.magiclantern.fm/forum/index.php?topic=16608.0   If you're recording full sensor, it's best to shoot regular h264 with the bitrate hack which is 1080p. The moire is still there but it's a bit more controllable. I'm able to set the h264 bitrate at 3x and with a Sandisk 95mb/s it seems stable.

Well, probably I am in another universe, since I learned to shoot with an eClair NPR, and YES, it was film, did you ever hear about it?, and everything was manual, later I got an Super 16 eClair ACL II, a 35mm Konvas-1M and a 35mm Konvas-2M, and I had a lot of fun, YES, the three shoot film, did you ever hear about that little boy?, when you were playing with your little cars in the living room of your daddy I was shooting with these babes, and all was manual, measuring the light, installing those huge light alone and hacking the breaker to get enough energy for the lights, little babies of today with their digital cameras really don't know a crap what was really to shoot in the old days with very limited budget.....did you ever lifted an eClair NPR? or a eClair ACL? or a 35mm camera ever?, URSA?, thats a joke, the only camera similar in weight to my old babes was the Red One, the rest, not even close....and I have a R1 too, and YES, it is all manual!!!!!!......I just used the Konvas two month ago to shoot some interior scenes, still a solid camera.....URSA?, sorry, not even close......so, are you going to teach me how to do things manually?......hahaha, come back little boy to play with your little cards....you really don't know what was to shoot with film, to do the load of the magazines every 12 minutes for 16mm and 4:30 minutes for 35mm, if I want DPAF is because of I needed for some projects, I have a R1 to shoot whatever else.....and YES, I have been shooting manually all these years.....sorry....nothing to learn from you...

    Wow!  This is great!

I talked to Photodiox at NAB and they are considering making a M4/3-to-EOSM adapter, so it might be possible to use a Metabones BMPCC speedbooster with this scenario!

    Thanks for the update!

I hope it has at least 1080p @120fps raw and 4K @60fps raw, and some sort of IBIS, but at the cost I probably will get the iphone X2 with that new prores raw thing....

I hope they also offer a speedbooster for it. 65mm 6K RAW? OMFG  Alexa65 on the cheap and with 3:2 ratio which is much better for the internet (and closer to IMAX).

That’s because studio heads were former producers that loved movies. Now they’re run by Harvard Business School graduates that look at the movie business as if it were any other widget.
