Also, there appears to be an issue with the url. I could be wrong, but it brings me back to this very page or the photos.

Wow. If you were in the same city, we could have taken a selfie together and I could have added another famous person I know to my short list ?

    This is superb. Congrats and

    Well, here we are then.

The 3C app is now officially available from the Play store for Android devices.
3C enables you to remotely control and monitor the primary functions of your Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K from an Android device using Bluetooth LE.

Using 3C, you have access to the following camera functionality.

    Aperture
    ISO
    Shutter Angle
    White Balance
    Record
Focus & Zoom (with compatible lenses)

With 3C you can also store your own custom setting sets for exposure, focus and zoom parameters for later recall as well as automate transitions between stored focus points*.

For ease of use, 3C uses a single screen touch interface to control all of this functionality and avoid the need for you to have to activate any sub-menus to change settings.

3C has a scalable user interface to enable you to remove focus and zoom controls from the screen should you not require them and wish to run the app on a small screen Android device.
In addition, 3C can also be used as an interface hub to enable control of the camera from compatible Bluetooth gamepads.
You can purchase 3C from the Play store here http://tinyurl.com/y5eyujeu
You can read the PDF user guide here User Guide For 3C v1.1 by CDA-TEK Ltd .pdf
You can use gamepads from iPega and 8Bitdo that support keyboard mode and examples of these are https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00KA6OR7Q (iPega) and https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B017PAX036 (8Bitdo).
3C will also support wireless live viewing from the camera in a future update with additional hardware.

Had an interesting chat with JVC at BVE Expo today.
They acknowledge the LS300 is a cult classic, which is evidenced by them selling more now than they did at launch.
They had it on show with a Ninja V which again they acknowledge as the solution to the achilles heal of the viewfinder.
It looks very well matched with it actually.
The slow burn of the sales over such a long time hasn't resulted in mega sales in total and as it such an outlier of a product for them there seems little prospect of a follow up anytime soon.

The Huawei design looks better in terms of functionality as a tablet that can also act and be the size of a phone.
However, its design looks to be a bit of a nightmare in terms of durability - both the back and the front of the phone are a screen when folded!!

I think OIS is more about micro jitters from hand movement also. EIS is better if what you are looking for is a replacement for a gimbal. The Samsung Super Steady Shot as seen on the new S10 phones is a good example of just how effective EIS can be for video. Granted, in its current implementation the phone is limited to HD footage. But nevertheless, the concept shows huge promise. A system such as this combined with a camera array and ample processing power will likely negate the need for gimbals and point and shoot cameras in the not too distant future.

@sanveer it also has post re-focus ability. This is pretty amazing in a package this small. And while it is true that the image processing does take some time, from the review I have seen it does not slow down image capture as the processing is done in the background.

Behold, no OIS and only one sensor used in video recording. Hopefully, when they do a SnapDragon 855 refresher, they enable some of this goodness in video too.

I am a long Samsung user, and still like them, however, I do NOT like that Samsung continues to restrict 3rd parties from the complete camera API.
In my opinion this is great mistake on Samsung's part.

Thats odd, people I know have found more dynamic range in HLG. Which to me makes sense as Vlog dynamic range is capped on the GH5 and GH5S. HLG having a half stop more DR brings the GH5S closer to the BMPCC4K, which makes sense because they both share a similar sensor.

IMHO the best test of dynamic range to me is over under tests on human subjects. You can see where skintones become unusable and its just more practical then those charts Cinema5d uses. Just in terms of noise for instance the XT3 shadows are cleaner than the original BM Pocket, however the pocket maintains colors much better where the XT3 starts looking washed out.

Although this year we have a fellow Greek in the Oscars, for me they are dead since the LALA land disaster.
If you witnessed this mega cringe where they had the whole cast on stage thinking they had won and then they took them all down...i dont want to watch the oscars again.
The second problem is the PO overdrive, where they put films like "WE WUZ KANGS" aka Black panther contesting for best pictures, and all the PO bs where people get nominated because "me too" or because they are minority.

Best film should not have anything to do by the margin of profits. Black panther was barely watchable, if you think black panther is one of the best 5 films of 2018, you either only have watched 5 movies or you have quostionable film taste.

Samsung, Twentieth Century Fox and Panasonic created the HDR10+ format and unlike Dolby's (which seems more promising), it seems to be created for greater adoption (starting with the pricing). Last year Samsung got many other partners ro adopt the standard INCLUDING Qualcomm. Which would mean broader integration with other smartphones using Snapdragon's SoCs.

In one of the data sheets of the Samsung S10 Series to be introduced (obtained by XDADeveloper.com), it appears that a mention of HDR10+ (for recording as well as playback) seems to be mentioned. Which means that Samsung seems to be the first Smartphone manufacturer who is bringing 10-bit video recording capability to a smartphone. The LG V30 stated it too, very ambiguously, but that was rubbish. This is genuinely huge. It was going to happen since some smartphones image sensors can do 12-bit at upto 60fps, but there must be issues with the processor (specifically to do with Combining HDR AND 10-bit, since it would be a waste to have it without enough dynamic range). Strangely Apple didn't implement it first, especially considering how much they have about their processing power. Hopefully Samsung iron out the compatibility issues with playback (on devices that do not have HDR10+).

    About Apple...
They had 10 bit support in ios 11, I could transfer 10 bit h265 from a fuji xt3 with the apple sd card reader at usb 3 speeds to the ipad.
And I could edit in lumafusion
in ios 12 all we get is a red error x on top if the file and it won't transfer.
And with no way to go back to ios 11, we are stuck at 8 bit files.
I hope apple will allow this in a future ios update.
And pressure from samsung for 10 bit will  hopefull help that

I didn't mind the weight of the body when using it in Barcelona.
It's in the D750 ballpark for weight, not the D5!
It's the lenses that add the most weight when it comes to full frame.
The 24-105 zoom was pretty light and 50mm large but not too bad weight wise.
Panasonic could maybe have shaved 200g off the body but when using a heavy Sigma ART lens on it via a Canon adapter, I doubt this would be noticeable.

It’s all relative. I don’t need FF 4K up to 60p at a low bitrate with paid upgrades. I don’t need a questionable AF system. I don’t need a camera that has possible overheating issues.
But when I do decide to get another camera, I would like IBIS and I’d like to use my existing EF lenses with a dependable AF system... hopefully Canon offers all of these features in an upcoming model.
But again, my original comment was just a statement against all recent camera releases. They’re just boring. Until these cameras offer internal/external Raw/ProRes they seem to be minor upgrades where picking your poison out of a hat is a valid reason to choose one over the other... or base it on the lenses you already own.

Panasonic is waiting to start selling a few hundred thousand S1 cameras, before any GH6 announcements, since the next GH Camera would eat everyone's breakfast, in the video department. So there will be a deafening silence on the GH front until the S1 has sold in a fee truckloads. I am guessing the GH6 will redefining video quality and features on an ILC just like the GH5 did 3 years ago.
