So I don't know if this has been posted yet in this thread but here are some files from the C70 to play with :

I don't know for you but I hear people complain about the difficult Canon codecs and files to edit compared to say those of the Sony A7sIII but I have no problem editing in real time those files on my computer.
Speaking about IQ, it's quite good, the amount of noise in the shadows is minimal, it's a pleasure to grade those files.

Any chance you'll upgrade firmware to work without motor with the Sigma FP with L lenses or MC21 adapter?
I just pledged on Indiegogo for my BMPCC 4K. Can't wait!

I paid 4900 euros for the camera and expected to be able to shoot at least 4K HQ with it as much as I can when placed preorder. I aknowledged that there could be problems with 8K video, but I was not worried because 4K HQ 10 bit 422 would be fine with me most of the time. And it turns out the cripple timer cripples also the 4K HQ.

I think apologist attitude "oh yeah Canon has all the right" smells deeply rotten. I don't care what Canon thinks, they have ruined the video capabilities of the expensive camera I purchased and traded my 1DX mark II (which did not overheat even in 4K 60p) to. I expected the new camera to be better than the 1DX mark II in video. And it came with Jesus-specs that would show Sony who is the king of video. Then it turns out, after already paying the camera (had to pay in advance to actually get it), that it has timer that ruins all usable video modes. The low quality pixel binned 4K mode most definitely is not what I traded my 1DX mark II for. Because 1DX mark II was able to do high quality 4K all day long, no C-log, but it had EOSHD-C-log installed which was fine. With this timer, my choices are worse image quality than the camera it replaces or live with the timer I never expected to even exist. Canon has betrayed me as a customer. I am not so rich that it would be indifferent to me as a customer if I get fooled by a manufacturer that sells intentional lemons instead of products they marketed.
Canon has no excuses to treat its customers like this. It is despicable. I have no reason to be kind and with apologist attitude towards Canon and than them for ruining my video shooting experience in contrast to the previous camera I had from them. I did not buy this camera for its 4K low quality mode. I could have bought Sony A7RIV instead, if I wanted a camera with pixel binned low quality video, high dynamic range sensor and high megapixel count for still photography. I bought the Canon instead because I expected it to perform better as a hybrid camera than the Sony A7RIV as it had all the things I had been wishing for: 10 bit video, raw video, full sensor readout, Canon DPAF, eye-AF etc. in the same package. It looked like the perfect camera for me. However, Canon completely ruined the video shooting abilities of this camera to category "not suitable for shooting video", unlike marketed, and unlike what I paid for.
I will use any hack available to shoot video with my R5. And if Canon "fixes it" in the next firmware releases by removing these hack capabilities, I will never upgrade the firmware.

Yes, these EOS R5 footage looks incredible.
I only use the ACES CLog conversion, no grading at all, and already looks fantastic.

Really wish someone upload some nice footage from the A7s 3 like that one, so we can play with it.
And hope that Canon come up with something that doesn't take 5 years to do.
At least sony throw their best codecs into a mirrorless.
But for now I will keep my pocket 4k.
Its not full frame but colors and codecs are really nice to work with.

Nice to know, I hate to swap formats and throw away my lenses collection. Really.
Counting with the same performance as with native Canon R mount glass means I can only focus on the price for body + accessories.
Lenses should not be included in the same pack. They are the pyramid's platform. Looks like most part of posters here tend to forget it.

Once overheating will be under control or more news how to handle a workaround will pop up around, I see this camera as the best current offer to fit my needs and liking.
Seems pretty clear to me that this 5.1K option route will put this device in some upper degree, in point of fact.
Isn't it in behalf of this we are using a camera forum to exchange ideas and information we can adapt for our shooter's life? ; )

If “multiple solutions” or “a full statement and plan in the coming weeks” will kill the fair overheating concerns, who won't try to have one?
I predict this camera can be as much revolutionary as 5DII was a decade ago. We also had to wait until no more workarounds were necessary along that late 2008 and early 2009, even though, much easier from a mere firmware update then, it finally happened:

I use the Metabones EF to R 4K Speedbooster on the EOS R and you can do some pretty interesting things with it in 1080 and older Gold Ring Canon EF lenses. Shooting 1080 with these lenses you get a wider image circle of the lense so in this example the EF 85 1.8 becomes a 60ish 1.2 with swirly edges kinda anamorphic - like.  With stabilization enabled the image is cropped enough to almost cut out ll the vignetting in 2.4:1. Most of the shots in this video I didn't crop out the vignetting.
I've been experimenting with the R in 4k since the release of the R5 and with the Speedbooster and stabilization on enhanced and these Gold Ring lenses you get a very reasonable 4k 24p - gimbal-liked stabilized image. Will be very interesting to experiment with the 4K Speedbooster in this 1.6 crop mode in the above Chinese video.

For anyone interested, someone finally pointed me to a video showing the 1.6x crop mode footage.  To me it looks very sharp and detailed.   It is at around the 2:14 minute mark.  If  you look at the regular 4k mode before it there is a big difference in the pixelation of the street lights.    Canon's heat sheet claims this mode does not overheat.  So unlike the R you get IBIS and 10 bit internal, and maybe a little bit better autofocus in this mode.   Not ideal for the price, but at least there is a decent 4k mode for longer record times.

No longer than offloading it. You can basically use Slimraw as an offloading tool  to copy and simultaneously compress your footage from the SD card to your computer's hard drive.

So a GFX 100 with 12 Bit ProRes Raw to a Ninja V seems like the better option.

That is a dramatic difference in the sky. This is where I use highlight recovery (rebuild) too. It makes the camera seem like it has a greater dynamic range than advertised. Since the clouds are already white, it doesn't hurt much that we can't recover all of the color detail in those sections.
Scenes with that much dynamic range are problems for most cameras, particularly at the P4K price point. I think you would have to spend at least 5K to get close to enough range for this (perhaps VLog on the S1). Even the C200 is limited to about 3 usable stops of over exposure and it costs about 4 times as much as the P4K.
