  1. fp Fans - here's one from the mountaintop.
  2. Seeing that this thread is active again for fp lovers, here's a DJI LiDAR autofocus test using the Aivascope 1.5 with Helios 44 taking lens. This is the LiDAR unit from the RS3 pro gimbal - off gimbal, handheld.
  3. A few shots from my California Roadtrip this week. Sigma fp / Aivascope 1.5 anamorphic with Helios 44 taking lens and Laowa 9mm f5.6.https://vimeo.com/770296545
  4. I believe you if you have the latest firmware for the BVA and the FP you should be all set. Maybe double check with Blackmagic design support.
  5. Sorry to post my own stuff again but here's my latest pandemic lock down piece. Confined to my backyard.🙄 The FP continues to inspire.
  6. I've never owned a more inspiring camera than the OG FP. I bought a C70 to make work a little easier and tried out a Lumix S5 for a week to check out the advantages for anamorphic shooting but quickly returned it. Nothing has come close to the IQ I'm getting out of the FP.
  7. Finally got it - user error. Calibrting now.
  8. So excited that my AFX showed up today in the US! Just having trouble pairing my BMPCC 4K.🤔 Any tips?

    Sigma EVF

It's called the GSS Ocular. https://mktradingco.com/product/ggs-s1-black-lcd-ocular-a7-ii-a7-iii-a9/

    Sigma EVF

I did the Power Chung flip screen mod last week on my FP. That, with the GSS Viewfinder is a sweet combination. The loupe retracts and the viewfinder becomes a hood.
  11. I'll keep hoping - the FP is my favorite. Good luck with the future modules.
  12. One last plea - how about using a Ninja V leaving USB open for the AFX?
  13. Any chance you'll upgrade firmware to work without motor with the Sigma FP with L lenses or MC21 adapter? I just pledged on Indiegogo for my BMPCC 4K. Can't wait!
  14. AF works great with the Metabones. Same as a Canon EF to R.
  15. I use the Metabones EF to R 4K Speedbooster on the EOS R and you can do some pretty interesting things with it in 1080 and older Gold Ring Canon EF lenses. Shooting 1080 with these lenses you get a wider image circle of the lense so in this example the EF 85 1.8 becomes a 60ish 1.2 with swirly edges kinda anamorphic - like. With stabilization enabled the image is cropped enough to almost cut out ll the vignetting in 2.4:1. Most of the shots in this video I didn't crop out the vignetting. I've been experimenting with the R in 4k since the release of the R5 and with the Speedbooster and stabilization on enhanced and these Gold Ring lenses you get a very reasonable 4k 24p - gimbal-liked stabilized image. Will be very interesting to experiment with the 4K Speedbooster in this 1.6 crop mode in the above Chinese video.
  16. Thanks guys for clarifying my comment by using Slimraw. Just curious - how long does it take to transcode say a 1GB cDNG file to 8:1?
  17. You might consider getting a Blackmagic Video Assist to record Braw from the FP instead of buying a new computer and lots of storage for the cDNG files. All 3 cameras will record Braw. My 2014 fully specced Macbook Pro handles Braw fine in Resolve. Of course you won't need the Video Assist for the BMPCCs.
  18. Here's the Metabones EF - EOS R Speedbooster used the wrong way. Certain older EF lenses will work in 1080 mode and you can still take advantage of a wider speedboosted image circle. In Stabilized mode and using a 2.4: crop, you can almost crop out the vignetting. Some of the shots here are are cropped to avoid the vignetting and some aren't. The Speedbooster works great in 4K reducing the R's crop to 1.24 with no vignetting. This Canon EF 85mm f 1.8 becomes a 60mm f1.2 in this 1080 semi-hack mode with full electronic control (AF, aperture, etc.). More modern EF lenses don't work this way.
  19. Well I know I could never do this on my A7III or EOS R. Try to concentrate on the sky
  20. Here's an example of Highlight Recovery on - off shot at ISO 1250. Note the outside blue chair cushion & foliage frame right and interior sun highlight next to interior planter.
  21. Thanks - SLR Magic 8mm, Voigtlander 25mm f0.95, Sigma 18-35, Tamron FE 24-70 no speedbooster yet.
