  1. First week with Resolve and BMPCC 4k. Lotsa blue skies in this edit and I'm not seeing any banding or microblocking shooting BRAW 8:1. Maybe a bit from YT compression but the QT is clean. Probably a little of FilmConvert could emulate that Cinema DNG look but haven't transferred that license over to Resolve yet.
  2. Of course - makes sense. Thanks for sussing that out. Waiting for that PortKeys O-eye 3G EVF to come out.
  3. Anyone know how they hooked up that Ursa EVF (1:09) to the BMPCC? The Woodencamera mod kit is no longer available and it's SDI anyway.
  4. Yeah - I keep a small piece of black tape on the opposite side of the adapter for when I pull out the filter. Keep the filter in a small soft pouch in my pocket. Not ideal but it's a great ND & better than carrying around assorted step up rings.
  5. For this style of shooting the RF 35mm 1.8 works well for me. Other lenses here are EF and FD. The EF - RF Variable ND adapter makes me almost prefer using EF glass.
  6. Yes, ML for raw, crop mode &Technicolor cinestyle. Stills are great. I like the touchscreen zoom focus mode. Too bad it doesn't work while recording like a Sony. It's a fun little experiment for $149. Put EOS Pro Color on my A7s. Surprised - thanks.
  7. My SmallHD Focus came in yesterday & it's making my A6500 a monster handheld rig. I'll spring for Pro Color but that EOS M has a vibe more than just color.
  8. I also just bought an EOS M for $149 & an FD adapter. My first foray into Canon. Colors are killing my A7s & A6500.
  9. This guy shoots amazing stuff on an eos M with Magic Lantern & crop mode
  10. Misread jase's profile settings and did Standard / -5 Contrast instead of everything -5 EXCEPT Contrast
  11. Loaded up A3G3 on the white balance and Neutral -2. Looked good. Then I pulled out My A7s to refresh my memory what Brandon Li's Autumn Leaves -3,0,-3 looked like. Had to do some major grading to emulate the Sony. May have de-saturated the lemons a bit and the over-exposure of the auto ISO on the Panny didn't help but I thought the handheld stabilized sensor held up pretty well against the gimbal. All purely unscientific. Don't try this at home kids!
  12. Here's some quick footage. I like the stabilizer. Pretty harsh Mathew. We're here to help and share with each other and maybe not to bash. Just grabbed my one-day-old camera on my way to the Bug Fair to mess around and thought I'd share. Hope it was helpful to some to point out some of it's strengths and limitations. Took a look at some your International doc work - nice.
  13. Wanted to share this with you guys. I just shot this in Uruguay with a Nebula 4000 and an A7s with a Sony FE 28mm f2.0. I counter-balance the single handle rig by extending it with a rod and a monitor or a Shogun attached. It really helps for adding a little weight to the rig and especially for checking focus using auto focus with the A7s. In the photo attached on Vimeo, you see a quick release in front of the spare battery - that's actually for an H4n that I plugged a couple of Rode Videomic Lavs into who's receivers were clipped onto the sunshade of the monitor. My Nebula is tool-less using oversized gnarled screws found online by Jason Wingrove. Flew this rig from LA to Argentina, shot 12 days and it performed flawlessly. Still a great little gimblal. Below is just a work in progress for the family I'm making the film for. Password: nebula
  14. It does 1080 60p slowmo & rather nicely at that (sharp & no aliasing) and per another post has a mic input but no headphone output.
  15. This $700 gimbal does make it easy to follow children around - strapped an A7s on it. Probably weighs less than a kilo.
  16. Now I see that 8.3x zoom HIFF - I was in APS-C mode and only zooms to 5.7x. Still wish the higher magnification was available during recording.
