What is the exposing to the right, by so many stops supposed to imply?
The A7siii has such strong NR algorithms that the image looks 1080p at best, or 720p.

I think Sony is quite aggressive with NR on a7S III, wonder is 12MP just too low res?

Panasonic really tweaked their 24MP really well, at expense of no PDAF on the sensor.

Late to the conversation here and haven't read all the replies.
I moved from my crop-sensor a6500 to a full frame Panasonic S1 for the better low light ability / increased dynamic range, and for the 10-bit 4:2:2 codec.
But that is because I shoot real estate and have to deal with ambient lighting. When shooting real estate videos, there often isn't time (or a budget) to set up lighting. So I often have a COUPLE of shots per video which are at the ISO 1600 to 3200 range.
Other times I am dealing with extreme levels of dynamic range.
The S1 does pretty well in these situations. Far better than the a6500.

Yes,...if the S1H did have phase detect AF, it WOULD be flawless. Too dangerous and that us why it won't ever have PDAF.
The camera industry has a "pizza pie" of customers. They work together to divide the customer revenue so that each company has a "group" to live off of. Panasonic has its crowd, Sony has its people, Cannot and Fuji and Oly each have their own customers...for carefully calculated reasons.
The Japaneese camera industry is an important one for the country of Japan. Its almost a "national pride" issue. They cherish it and the Japanese companies want each company to succeed or at least survive as a matter of pride and respect for each other. Each company will spar with each other, yes!...but always see that each refuses to deliver a true "knockout" blow to the other. Ot just won't ever happen.
This is why every camera will be crippled in some way to save the Japaneese "brotherhood" from being destroyed.
Everybody is given a bowling lane to operate and survive in. The camera crippling we have all seen in the past 20+ years is no accident. Its mostly designed to preserve the health of the Japaneese camera industry as a whole.
Believe it or not....but Sony doesn't want Cannot to die. Cannot doesnt want Lumix to die...etc. They are each valuable to the country they all love.

On the UK Sony site the small print is:
"The α7C is the smallest and lightest full-frame digital interchangeable-lens camera with optical in-body image stabilisation"
A weird confusion going on in the heads of marketing people there of optical IS and mechanical IBIS.

When the Sony A7 III was released it allegedly damaged the appeal of more expensive $3000 mirrorless cameras, not least of all Sony's own. In my opinion the electronics giant is now doing the same to affordable APS-C rangefinder-style mirrorless cameras, effectively ending their own APS-C line as well - an even more destructive move than last time.
I am minded of the Nikkei Asian Review in July. "Smartphones are not the only reason [for the camera industry's decline]... Japanese industry, which has a penchant for competing against its own products, can also blame itself."
The article goes on to quote Hiroshi Hamada (ex-CEO of Hoya / Pentax): "Digital camera companies intend to strangle their rivals through excessive competition, but in the end they'll strangle themselves"

I can't compare it directly to the P4K as I don't regularly shoot with one. But it compares quite well with the P6K and the Alexa. As I said elsewhere the P6K has 1.3 stops more range in the highlights at IOS800 when highlight recovery is enabled. But the Komodo has nicer finer grained noise with no CMOS smear.
I'm getting pretty much the same image from both. The P6K requires a Rawlite OLPF filter though.
Usability wise the P6K is maybe a bit nicer. So much quicker to shoot with assignable buttons, 2 sec startup time.

You are taking sentence out of the context.
Yes, a drive is not removable easily from the enclosure and, no you may not swap drive on the fly. It's like saying SSD are not removable media. Still, they are used everyday as removable media cause the interface is something else that what is inside the enclosure.

But this system is an enclosure for NVMe drive that will put the heat away from the card reader , allowing cheaper and very large drive capacity.
The heat generated by the card can be way easier dissipated than a CFExpress card. I actually have such enclosure for another project, it's all aluminium with a thermal pad around

And, by the way, you should talk to DJI; this is what they use on their Inspire 2 as drive.... But they change the connector type to be more sturdy.

If you look at ZITAY product, they already successfully implement such solution for black-magic camera, without a need for extra external power. (CFFast to SSD)
The product needs to be tested, but it specifically states R5 and Z6 / Z7 (and other C300 camera)
It have a screw thread to secure it to a cage. This will help dissipate heat.
And if you go for large version, it's a great option to reduce overall cost.

CFExpress card are kinda 512 GB max, with nvme you can go to 4TB for similar price. You unscrew the drive when you have 4TB of data, so, maybe one a day.

This product come with a cover to push the door switch and so let the cable going out. So the door will be open during shooting.

I have 0 test so far, but it's look great to me on the paper. I let you do some research on their website, and not just pick up sentences from a different discussion in a blog.
