Whatupp wizzat tumbnail above and video! Gimme some insight why u should click that most terrible of fugly thumbnails above!😂 @Emanuel

Marty, it's a democratic piazza, they choose those thumbnails and we have to deal with the times we live in : ) Here's one from the capital of my country more exactly the neighbourhood where I lived 25 years ago along those years in the first academic year at the film school and it's a bit curious now to the eyes of people used to dream on digital prelude to come by then:

Hope the thumbnail may adjust the taste of everyone but much wider this time... : D

Quiet appealing thumbi this time and tasty writeup, dear Emanuel. Love it. But will I click it?😂 @Emanuel I still won't click the first one, even though this are the times of fugly thumbnails. Especially because of these times I won't click it.😂

Actially, I find the new Dji compelling to play with. I imagine smaller rentals having them in their lineup. Would be fun to try one out.

GH4 colours and dynamic range? Great musicians, and so young talent. I wish the Dji filmer put some coins in their jar. This video was a gimbal test video and a great audio witness of the musicians, good handling and showcase of the gimbal, cinema verité it was not. Image seems in GH4 territory. Interesting enough for rent and evaluating the image quality oneself if they give them away for 20 a day.

Wanna share bits of your footage, Dji or, heck, just anything of beautiful Lissabon? @Emanuel

No D-log in 4K120p is a joke and deal breaker. Was planning on buying it to use exclusively as a slow mo wide angle gimbal cam.

DJI kills everyone else in the drone market I wish they invested more in the regular camera market or at least gimbal camera market.

FIXED! Latest firmware adds 10bit color and choice of Dlog M or HLG for 4K 120P.

Interesting comparison... to show how good this tiny device is:

Definitely getting better.

Considering it's on a gimbal and is an enthusiasts camera, I think they could spend a bit more on the next iteration (or release a Pro model) and make next model with a collection of cameras like smartphones now do.  Even if it had a 15mm equivalent, a 24mm equivalent and an 85mm equivalent that would be great.  Or make them the 8K like the Insta360 Ace Pro and you could have 4K recording with the 16mm (and 32mm with crop), then 50mm (and 100mm with crop).

I could get on board with that.

At the moment, we have 3 options principally:

1. Pocket 3

2. Use a gimbal.

3. DJI Ronin all in one thing.

Something dedicated between the 2 would be great.

OK we could go Route 2 with one of the more compact M4/3 options or even a compact, but the Pocket 3 is still tiny by comparison.

I’m still pondering Pocket 3 vs gimbal for this year…

I've got one for me (personal use, remember).

I'm not travelling (and probably stay on this way for a long time), but I'm in a quest for years on how to quickly change my camera from "stills, in a neck strap" to "in a gimbal for movies with an ND" in the shortest amount of time during a trip.

The last solution was:
- Using the Falcam magnetic anchor links on the strap (much faster than the Peak Degin ones);
- Put the ND filter on the lens from a belt pouch using magnetic rings;
- Get the gimbal (since I use the X-S20 + Sigma 18-50 f/2.8, both very light, now is a Scorp Mini ginmal), which already have a quick release, all already calibrated for the combo;
- Mount and shoot.

All very quick, except getting the gimbal from the back and unlocking it. But much better than previous attempts.

Then I saw that 80% of the shots that I use the gimbal during trips are wide-angle ones. And then the Pocket came to mind.

Never was interested before because of the smaller sensors (albeit when researching the 3, saw a lot of examples from the 2 and the image quality was better than I expected), but with the 1 inch sensor of the 3, I was interested.

Got one, and will sell my gimbal. Wide shots, will use it - tighter shots, will use the X-S20 handeld, with IBIS and maybe extra stab in Resolve. Much less fussy, much faster to change "modes".

Did not use the Pocket 3 a lot, but already impressed. Yes, the image of the X-S20 is better, but the difference is much closer than expected. And in a concert that I went recently, the image was good enough (just using D-Log with a Rec709 lut appllied 50%), and the internal mics TROUNCED the Andycine little shotgun that was using on the X-S20.

(my play was to get the Creative combo to use the DJI Mic 2 as a standalone 32bit recorder on the X-S20 hotshoe, but the comb was sold out).

This guy have a series of videos about the Pocket 3 - and use it in a very interesting ways:

Hello, I am an unhappy owner of DJI Osmo Pocket 3. I bought it recently and used it extensively on a trip. I love the quality of Pocket 3 but what I hate and what makes me want to sell it is that every time I turn it on, the lens looks at me in all directions (especially up) and never ever ever in front. On the trip I was getting depressed for this very reason and I took so many bad shots that I had to throw away. Maybe I can't configure it well, who knows!! Can someone who knows Pocket 3 well tell me if I need to configure it in some way, so that when I turn it on the lens looks in front of me parallel to the ground? A million thanks for your help.

There is a setting for the default shooting direction to switch from Forward, Backward or Last Setting.

The Last Setting interacts with and resumes the last shooting mode before power off so it may have been on face tracking with the orientation being set to backward when you powered it off.
