is that bad? i mean Sony has improved its color science since a7s ii also take look at footage that Mr Jacques Crafford has provided

With any 10-bit camera (if you know what you are doing) you should have plenty of latitude to create just about any color scheme you want. All it takes is someone who knows what they are doing to create a LUT that matches the color you are hoping to achieve. I have to stress however that it takes someone who knows what they are doing. There is no doubt that straight out of the camera, skin colors do not have the magenta that Canon has that people have a tendency to like. It certainly is achievable however.
What I've mostly seen online so far with the A7SIII is mostly straight-out-of-camera looks. Gerald Undone has a new video up today that explains what most people do with their log footage. They attempt to add saturation and contrast and they think that's good enough. Well...it's not good enough.

I think they'd make more money just putting good stuff out, to be honest. No games.
If the EOS R5 is capable of longer record times in 4K HQ and 8K, just give them us.
    We paid for it!
We get to decide how we use it.
Especially as it was marketed for pro video use.

Does the S1H have an 8K sensor in a weather sealed body?

if the standard line skipped 4K output has a negligible image quality difference to a C300 mark whatever, then what’s the problem? We won’t know that until those tests are done.

This thread details the teardown process, modifications made and some important findings:
    http://c.tieba.baidu.com/p/6848700307?pn=1

He replaced the two thermal pads that did not fully cover the CPU with a dollop of thermal paste and noticed significantly better and more even heat dissipation.
Most important finding: despite the temperature drop and improved heat dissipation, 8K/4K HQ still cut off at 20min mark, suggesting a firmware limit is also in place.

Correction: you bought a seriously expensive stills photography first camera that just happens to have the ability to record pretty high quality video, NOT a video first camera that just happens to record stills. If you intend to use this camera for video first, you shouldn’t be expecting reliable high end cinema performance in a stills camera form factor.  That’s kind of like expecting C700 performance in the price and body of an EOS RP. ?!?! If you need reliable C700 performance, then use a C700, not the RP. I’m using C700/RP as an example.

in terms of how canon chose to market the R5, yes, it’s unfortunate that they are chose to market it as video first, however reviews are showing that it’s not that camera, at least not in current firmware form, so if anybody is stupid enough to buy anything based solely on manufacturers marketing (Not just Canon), then they kind of deserve to get what they get. This is why independent reviews exist.

Bride : Did you have any prior warning that it might be prone to overheating and not being able to record for more than a few minutes ?

A7S III colour science is certainly improved and offers a much better starting point for colour grading.
Here are some samples matched to ARRI Alexa with minor adjustments, using "CineMatch" sensor matching algorithm, the A7S III sensor profile is still at beta stage.

I hear the server has overheated... or maybe they are just editing out the EOS R5 pages 😂

My wife doesn't want her face posted, but here is just an example of some skin tones under a terrible fluorescent light (white balanced) before/after a beginner blueish/green horror movie type grade. No keys or masks were used by the way, just white balance and tint changes.

I have long been waiting for a solid mirrorless release from Canon. And was hoping maybe Sony would get their act together with colors and IQ. Looks like neither will happen for another 3-4 years. The Sony A7sIII specs are pretty much perfect, IMO - focusing on great 4k and great frame rates and not worried about 6k and 8k. But from what footage I've seen, zombie skin tones seem to persist. And the R5, though tempting, just seems too unreliable.
So, after using Panasonic as my stopgap for almost 4 years now (GH5, S1, and now S1H), I think it's just time to admit that I'm a Panasonic Man. Once those f1.8 primes come out, Sigma releases more compact primes, and they release a smaller (500-600 gram) full-frame camera I can use for stills, then it will have everything I need.
Panasonic just makes the most reliable and robust cameras with all the specs you need and have leapfrogged Canon in color and IQ with the S1 and S1H. Sure, having great AF is helpful sometimes, but it has failed me enough with the C200 and EOS R that I would never trust it on a professional shoot.
Looking forward to just being happy with the S1H (especially now with 6k and 4k ProRes Raw!) for the next 2-3 years.

Defending a manufacturer's fuck up via the medium of advocating a 3rd party add on cooling device with rotating blades is quite literally putting the fan into fan boy.

What?! S1H came out way before the EOS R5.
If anything it's the other way around.

Nothing wrong with the colour. If you can't make great images with it, blame yourself not the camera's colour.

Maybe Panasonic would be willing to trade the S1H “fan technology” for DPAF. Fair trade!

Overheating this serious isn’t a firmware fix. It’s a fundamental design issue.

When in RAW if you set LOG on or off it controls the highlight protection thus the base iso (plus if the proxy 8 or 10bit, but i don’t record proxy)
In theory I think with LOG on and exposing to the right you should get more DR but I’m not sure.
I’m not a DR obsessed so I’m not the right guy to ask but to me RAW DR seems very close to photo DR in CR3. Maybe I should do a test and compare video RAW 12bit with photo RAW 14bit....

Yes to keep from lifting the shadows and dealing with noise ... Clog2 more so than Clog3 ... but I always tend to underexpose ... if you blow the highlights
you are done ... since you cannot guage exposure with the in camera Clog ... it is a bit of a guess as to how it will translate when you work with the
Raw. Clog2 gives a bit more dynamic range to play with in post ... but may be a bit noisier than Clog3 where the shadows are crushed a bit more.
However ... if you do not blow the highlights the amount of recovery is very good with Clog2.

Not for me. RS would not be an issue in most situations (static/tripod shots, sliders, and gimbals) and is greatly reduced in 60fps. You can even shoot 1.3 crop and 60fps to retain the DPAF. There is no other FF camera with internal 5.5K RAW and all these features for that price. On top of that, it can produce a very filmic image and will retain its value as an investment in case you need to sell it:
