Sounds to me like a lot of us here aren't the target audience for Blackmagic. Not everyone wants to adapt lenses, look up compatibility charts, etc. Wanting MFT mount with S35 sensor or a mount specifically designed for adapting is a little bit like Gerald Undone saying the fp-L isn't worth its price because it has high rolling shutter and poor ergonomics.
The truth is, EF is still the most common lens out there. BM isn't competing for the users that want to look for custom handles, screens, and lens mounts. Want choice? Go for Z Cam--or maybe some of the internet folks are actually more interested in complaining about the design philosophy of companies they aren't buying from, than buying into the camera with the features they talk about.

@zerocool22 You should definitely share it when you get it going, I'd love to glean some of that wisdom (I mean, who wouldn't!) I've got 10 years to do it! 😬

Oh yeah thats true. Hope blackmagic will release a full frame camera, then EF would make a lot more sense indeed.

I see a tons people complaining about the marketing/hype machine that is the "filmmaking sector" of YouTube, and I hate a lot of those clichés too. That being said, it has been in the back of my mind to try out for a while, so yesterday I had some free time and I finally decided to give it a go!
Turns out it's actually a lot harder to film yourself and talk right to camera than I anticipated (I very quickly abandoned my plans to shoot it anamorphic, focusing on my S1, all by myself, was just way too difficult) and the whole process took me far longer to shoot and edit than I expected.
Anyway, here's my (first ever) attempt at this kind of video:
I'm assuming a good number of users on here consume as much YouTube as I (sometimes regretfully) do?
I've always considered Eoshd as a cut above the rest of the internet filmmaking-afficcionado crowd. I'd love to see anything anyone else on here is making in this space too, and/or see if we can start a discussion about good, lesser-known channels to follow that aren't specifically about shoving gear/affiliate links and clickbait sensation down our throats.

The 14 bit RAW of the Canon 5d2 and 5d3 in Magic Lantern remain the best image quality I've seen outside of Alexa and RED.  As in your test with the still photo, this is because Magic Lantern just made the cameras quickly shoot raw photos.
In my real world shoots Andrew's Z-Log picture profile in 8-bit holds up extremely well against 10-bit N-Log on the Nikon z6.  I like having the Atomos Ninja V monitor for the LUT preview and other monitoring features, but the extra bitrate really doesn't seem to add much.

zerocool22 reacted to scotchtape in What teleprompter to buy?
    What is your budget?
Free option: telepropmter app that uses your ipad, phone, or webcam.
For teleprompters there are many designs that fit different sized display devices. Some only fit certain dimensions, so if you decide to use a larger screen one day you won't be able to use them anymore. This is dependent on the size of the beam splitter glass and the layout of the screen holder.
There are many cheap designs that work perfectly well with a phone as the screen for under $60USD on AE. Also the ones that clip onto the top of a laptop to use with the webcam.
For larger screens I suggest this one (planning on buying it, no experience with it yet):
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002245363941.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.5dd65146zh21oo&algo_pvid=2600be7e-7c46-4087-8591-13af97eb5a15&algo_expid=2600be7e-7c46-4087-8591-13af97eb5a15-0&btsid=0bb0624716214288223917590e8833&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_
It fits larger screens, is cheap, and folds down. It's cheaper than the GlideGear TMP500 I bought, which only fits less than ipad pros and was more expensive, and at the time had worse build quality.
I also have the recently released Neewer 12 inch teleprompter. It really only fits 10'' screens because of the glass size, if you want to use larger screens you have to tilt it up more and get the star wars scrolling text effect.
If you want to see yourself you will need to use an external monitor, but to my knowledge there are no good programs that overlay the teleprompter on top of the video.  There is one app on PC that does it using the webcam, but the developer was quite rude so I don't recommend it (not only because of the rudeness, but because it's wonky for dual screens).
For the software, there are some good free options, but the best one's I've found are nanoteleprompter (android, paid), promptsmart pro (crossplatform, paid, demo available. really only good for voice recognition, for normal teleprompting it's very annoying to use). You can try https://telepromptermirror.com/voice-activated-teleprompter/ for free as well. Teleprompt.me is no longer free. Pixaero isn't bad either and it's free. On android, those all work with bluetooth controllers and have margin control.
For controllers, the black one that comes free with many cheap teleprompters works very well for scrolling because it's very quiet.  Some other controllers are very clicky and loud. If you are using a PC app, the paid joy2key program (only $7 or something) can remap controllers so you can use it with PC software.

Bit really just saw that in the final cut video and was impressed. It could save me a couple of minutes per project, as I dont need to play the track to see where its clipping. I would just import the track and everything thats clipped is already marked.
Im all about workflow, I loose focus fast, so when I am doing these little things, its focus I can spend better on actual clip editing.

Agreed. I can't imagine you would need to push the colors around very much for interviews, so 10 bit shouldn't be necessary.
I love that 10 bit is becoming regular but I think people overestimate how much they really need to use it.

For an interview I would just shoot in 8 bit. I would much rather 8bit than lose the ability to punch in and recompose in post. I shot tons of content with the GH5's 8bit and clients never cared or noticed. My C200 also shoots 8bit and somehow it looks just as good as the 10bit out of the S5.

I got the H6 Accessory Pack back when I bought my zoom, and the AC adapter that comes with that pack is literally a USB wall socket, so you'll be fine. In fact, I think I've used other USB sockets far more often than the original one.
The original Zoom unit's output is 5.0V and 1.0A.

The S5 charges while off and gives it continuous power while on and in use, the only time I've seen the battery drain depends on the power source. If you plug it into a wall with something capable of suppling proper juice or a portable charger with pd power I even have a fx lion nano and use the usb c port on there to supply continuous power

    Hello,
How come that these panasonic L lenses are so light weight? All my canon L glass is heavy as *@#$, same as sigma ART lenses and tamron lenses. Those light weight lenses are a lot funner to carry around 😄
I thought perhaps it was a mirrorless thing, but these Canon RF lenses are heavy beasts as well.

    Cheers

The 85mm f1.8 is actually lighter than air.
    So is the 20-60mm.
I prefer the new Sigmas however, particularly the f2 35mm and 65mm siblings, plus the 45mm f2.8...which I have no use for owning the new 28-70mm f2.8.
Heavier yes, but that's because they are made out of a substance called metal and not recycled recycling receptacles.
They look ace, they feel ace, they render ace.
