180 degrees is the same as 1/50th at 25fps. It's the industry standard for unobtrusive motion so I don't know what he's talking about exactly. Might come down to personal preference for him.

Seems like they are not focussed on the camera (similar performance as other top of the line smartphones). That would be the only reason I would have bought this. Too bad, would have loved a camera that shoots cinematic images that I always have with me.

I had a deep loss today... a dear uncle of mine 89-years old and a half (eight months and twenty one days of his last year of life to be more precise), one of the best friends a fortunate man -- his nephew had, passed away this July 27th.
I got the idea I didn't spend enough time with him in these last years of his light in my personal experience, inner circle and course of life.
Don't lose any chance with your closest ones... (just a thought, just my sad two cents)

I do a Youtube show that generates roughly 1 million views a month on audio production & one of the questions that keeps coming up is, "how the hell do you get your voice to sound so good?"

Here's my approach:
 

Well when Nikon and Canon do they will win over a lot of users in a instant. As the colour science is one of the most important aspects, and sony is surely not a competitor on that department. As well as lenses, as a lot of users are using EF glass. Because there are a lot of camera's using the EF camera mount not just canon.

@Charlie @zerocool22 I've struggled to find places that talk about creativity rather than equipment too.
There are a few threads here, but I think the real artistic knowledge is worth money and is held mostly by people too busy making films to hang out online or the people who do hang online are selling that knowledge via online courses.
There is a lot of debate about "should I go to film school" and one of the arguments for and against it is that the best way to learn is to practice and actually make films - the people who say avoid film school say make lots of films instead and the people that say go to film school say that it's good because it forces you to make lots of films (as well as other advantages too of course).
I've found that EOSHD is good for equipment discussions, forums like https://liftgammagain.com/forum/index.php which is about colour grading and post production, and manufacturer specific forums where users of that software/hardware sometimes talk about creativity, but they're often rare.  I like liftgammgain because a lot of what colourists do is artistic judgement so those topics come up quite frequently.

What I recall is 99% of people that complained about media issues didn’t use cards from BMD’s list.  I know that they also struggled to keep up with the SSD list because it takes a while to certify media and the manufacturers were constantly changing the performance.  I vaguely recall one of the SSD drives that WAS recommended wouldn’t work when they went to the next generartion of the same branded media.  That’s not on BMD.
It is why they changed to CFAST though even though everyone seems to think SSD are the perfect solution and always work.  Go look on BMD’s forums at the number of complaints over SSD’s with the original BMCC.
I personally worry about USB-C as a port for reliable use.  I would hope someon comes out with a cage or mount that locks that plug down.
I’ll be sticking to CFAST.

Yeah when you figure you get about a $10,000.00 lens with it in FF equivalence than yeah it is a bargain compared to the GH5.
I think he is right. Look at Resolve. They Are giving it away literally. And the Studio one is Only 299 bucks, They are nearly giving that away also. They want you to buy a BM Camera and use BM Resolve, and then you are hooked, in a good way, into the BM Voodoo or whatever you call it.

Im guessing Blackmagic is not making a lot of profit on the pocket 4K cameras. I think they just want to take over the market and build their name up to the masses and in the meantime also converting users from Adobe to Resolve.

Yeah I had that same feeling when I close to retirement. Who gives a crap. If they fire me I can make it until I get my Social Security or Pension somehow. I am done with all this stuff. Now don't get me wrong there were friends I had I still miss, and never see anymore. But damn not to have to get up, shave, drive to work, hell work, man I should have quit 40 years ago LoL.
Hint for young people. Have fun for as long as you can. Don't have kids even if you get married at 25. Wait and have fun. Don't buy a lot of stuff, no fancy house. Work 40 hours a week or less and well, have fun. You may never live to be old and if you do you may not be able to do much of anything physical, or your partner might not, not fun. In my case my first wife died at age 55 from Cancer. Really not fun. You never know. Don't be a tight ass, just don't buy the best thing there is. Being in debt for years and years sucks ass, it just does, not fun.
Notice I said fun a lot of times. Have fun, if not you might as well jump off the roof. It is a damn, long, miserable life not having fun in it. No reason to live, no reason to get up, and you treat everyone like shit if you are not happy. Laugh, it helps.

Haha yeah. I started out wanting to be a director. So my first project looked so bad, that qi said to myself ok I need to learn cinematography first. And so I am learning, not quite there yet. But I feel more capable as a director because now at least I could say, I dont like this because this or shoot it more like this against a dop. I might want to learn acting, writing and audio as well soon.

Yeah I shot a shortfilm on the c100 recorded to a blackmagic video assist. And that worked fine, ok the cost is next to nothing and you def can get cinematic video out of it. Aswel as on the c300. But there are for sure better cameras out there at a similar pricepoint. But you can get good results on a lot of cameras as you know whag youre doing. The color science on the c series is its best feature. 

I have seen similar shots in camera with just a handheld move, just spin the camera on your arm. Not as great as the Lakai video offcourse, which is indeed a phantom camera with a bolt probably.

I think it was more the idea that he did it handheld in a line that made it cool. Vx looks awesome.
I can't tell if this was done in post or not, definitely done way before the Colin Reed video though.

Sorry this is a bit off topic, but I have to say this out loud. The last few years the following has become a trend: Review websites are posting articles with youtube links without summarizing the content of the video. And this is annoying the hell out of me. Is it that much to ask to write an article summarizing the content of a video. All the big websites are doing this, nofilmsschool, fstoppers, ...
I cannot watch video's all the time because of various reasons:
1: I cannot use audio (work, school, library, public transport, ...)
2: Video's take forever, I do not have that much free time (they will have an intro, outro, jokes, ...), I rather spend my time on watching an actual film or spend my time with my family then watching several youtube video's, where the content could be summarized in a 5 min read.
3: Reading is more efficient for me at least, as you can reread faster with less distractions
4: Clickbait titles with shitty content.
5: Its making influencers the biggest contentmakers, why should I visit other websites if everything links to youtube videos.

So please if you are writing articles on photography/cinematography summarize the video's. 
I will be very thankfull!
