No, I don't own the lens but I am considering the systems from a cost analysis perspective for someone like me moving from canon who wants video and fast af for sport and wildlife. The Fuji is overpriced considering u can get a Canon 100-400 FF for the same price (not including rebate). I haven't seen the the eye af for Sony in action so can't comment on its usefulness. I'm sure the new Sony will be good but unless u already own the lenses they price themselves out by a fair margin.

I personally wouldn't go adapted as the performance isn't there. If you are spending so much on a camera why cripple it.
But yes the problem with Fuji is that you are tied to that system.

Nope it was an auto ISO problem, Zed even mentions it in this video from 6:40:

Edit: funny thing is that you as the creator of this thread specifically mention smooth auto iso as a feature of v1.10:

To my book, this can be a deal breaker (in favour of Panny instead as better alternative) if not fixed...
On that one I am absolutely with @jonpais where you're used to be, Jon, because certain things count even more than IQ, being reliability one of them.

I went from the GH5 to the X-T3 (with a brief fling with an RX1Rm2 in between) and I think the GH5's touch screen is way more responsive than the Fuji. The Fuji is fine, but there have been times where I try to use the screen to change the focus point while looking through the VF and it doesn't always respond, which isn't something I ever experienced with the GH5.

Yes, APS-c dominates thanks to casual shooters buying cheap plastic DSLR kits, but that's still mostly CaNikon. Fuji is a small niche brand with very little in terms of retail presence. CaNikon is literally everywhere, and that visibility is a large part of the reason they own ~75% of the market. Olympus is in the same boat, no real visibility to casual shooters. Fuji's race to the bottom with multiple low margin entry level bodies that undercut their top models isn't a sound strategy either. Like m43, they rely on basically one sensor to cover the entire range, so there's no difference in IQ between models. Casual shooters don't care about 10-bit and 60p, things like AF and ease of use are the driving factors in the entry segment. I like what the XT3 offers, but I'll wait for the inevitable XT30 that gives me the same spec for 1/2 the price.
The Tamron 28-75/2.8 is lighter than my 16-55/2.8, and combined with the a7III its a much better low light combo. My 28/2 and 85/1.8 aren't larger than Fuji equivalents like the 23/1.4 and 56/1.2 - and no Fuji can get you 42-45mp like current FF offerings. You don't have to use F/1.4 primes and 2.8 zooms, to get the equivalent image with FF you can easily just go with f/1.8/2 primes and f/4 zooms to stay smaller and lighter. Same applies when comparing to m43, and that's the problem m43 is battling on the high end, cheap FF glass combined with the larger sensor gets you better IQ in a comparably sized/priced package. M43 has the small size advantage with the tiny primes and smaller zooms, at the cost of light gathering and ugly noise with higher ISO's. Pick your poison.

Here's some test footage from Photokina (will upload more and comparisons with the A73 later)
    1st clip: F-Log All-Intra 400mbit 4K DCI, 25p, sharpening/nr -4 and inter frame nr off, native ISO640
Provided a graded version as well with some midtone contrast added to skin tones as well

    Sorry for the shakiness.
After a full day of photokina with an unstabilized lens it's quite hard to shoot stable footage...
Shutter was at 1/100s to compensate for the strong lights.

Some of the film simulations are made to produce waxy skin. They dialed it down after many raised their voices about it. But it‘s not a bug it‘s a feature. Fuji cameras are very popular in parts of asia and waxy skin there is often what people, especially young females, are looking for.
of course it would be best if it were a menu option

If you are referring to me JonPais, then thanks for even having any bit of trust in my hands on experience! I do love all of the tech that is coming out and haven't been much into the DSLR/Mirrorless game for long. I am a fan of paying full boat for something that is definitely priced appropriately! I loved and owned the a6500 when it came out, but the shortcomings were too much for me. I sold my nikon d7000 cause the video was mush. Sold my first 5D mkii within 48 hours (in 2017) because the video was soft. Sold the XT2 twice and X-H1 once because the video was fantastic and SOOC pics were great, but for video there were too many compromises. Battery life, the 4gb file , and you needed the battery grip. Sold the c100 mki because there was no 60P and the LCD was subpar (compared to the mkii).
The a7iii checked many of the boxes with IBIS, but to me the biggest letdown was the LCD and EVF.  I've had hands on with the Z7 (which felt really great holding it in your hand), X-T3 (which provides very lovely images and AF and fantastic photography) is definitely worth the cash (mine gets here on Wednesday), the EOS R while lovely, the price is too high $2,300 for a camera that does 720P 120fps in 2018 is really sad. Will it dropping to $1,600 making more palatable? Maybe, but you can pick up an a6300 or a6500 for $6-$900 used and get better 1080p, pick up a GH5 for $1,300 used. You'll still get better slowmotion with those cameras and not overpay! I would pay $1,200 for a 6Dmkii because it's a good camera that is wx resistance and that EF mount allow you to buy some great third party glass like the tamron 15-30 2.8 with VC for less than $1,200 used! The EF mount is very flexible and you have access to a lot of great glass. A lot of choices and it's great to be a visual creator in 2018!

Not really. At least they got more light.
F/4 is slow, and not bokelicious. And it is still heavy and big because it's FF. Really, I don't see the point of F/4 on FF.
Try the 28-75mm 2.8 tamron on A7III. With video APSC crop it goes to 105mm as well, it's cheaper, better, faster, lighter. And to have equivalent DoF on M43 you would need a 14-35 F1.4 !! Which does not exist. Here you have the real advantage of FF. Not with a garbage 24-70mm F4. I would rather have a GH5 with 12-35mm 2.8 then. More light, way lighter... almost same DoF

You can't get rid of the waxiness as well as lack of definition and texture of skin, while you can easily fix colors in post.
    Astia
    Inter frame NR: OFF
    Lowered highlights a tiny bit
    Brightened shadows a tiny bit
    Sharpening -4
    NR: -4
    (F-log showed the same issue)

The Sony was running my custom profile using Still gamma and Pro color mode and some other tweaks.
    Guess which camera looked better.

    Tried the X-T3 at photokina.

    Not impressed.
Recorded some footage on my SD card in the new 400mbps intraframe codec. Turned noise reduction, sharpening as well as inter frame noise reduction completely off.
In both Astia and F-log faces and even textiles look like a paintbrush was applied. Faces look horrible and lifeless and waxy as well.

Both my GH5 and A7III looked way better and more natural in comparison...
Well, will wait for the BM Pocket 4K then.

@Kisaha I agree.. I was shopping second hand stuff this summer in Stockholm's Södermalm (clothing, furniture, watches) and pricing was all over the place.. some real bargains for sure, but some over priced stuff as well. Some dealers confessed pricing changes depending on season (sometimes week to week) which kinda surprised me. Again supply/demand but it's a different market for sure then other capitals I've been to.
@jonpais Second hand A7IIIs (and i think D850s) actually sold above retail in places like the US where the launch was delayed from other parts of the world..

They also offer the longest warranty in the whole industry. Koreans started as a low cost solution but now they make some of the most reliable cars in business.
In another note, from Mattias words I understand that Swedish market is unique and it doesn't match most things I know from other markets. He shouldn't try to impose his views as the norm though. Nowhere else in the world a camera will loose such a big percentage of its value in day one, and maybe nowhere in the world a shop will buy a camera you bought from them in the same value - actually those two contradict one another - first the shop loose 400-600€ fron day one, but after 6 months buys the same camera as high as was new 6 months ago? What are they? Charity?

What struck me most about the presentation was how 'photography centric' it was. It was 95% about photography. The presentation was titled 'Lumix - changing photography'. There were 3 Lumix brand ambassadors - all of them photographers. When the slide with the two cameras came up - the high resolution camera didnt even mention video....

My guess is that their 'photographer brand ambassadors' made it clear to Panasonic that an M43 sized sensor simply doesnt cut it in the professional 'photography' market and that this is a market that they feel they need to be in (and I suspect the G9 hasnt sold well). So Panasonic are going FF mainly to try and capture the pro photography market. Comments about 'best possible codec' are entirely meaning less and cant be conflated into 'internal raw recording' - noone is going to say that they plan to have a 'crummy video codec.'

I have to agree with @jonpais I don't think Fuji was looking at the Samsung. Fuji has been iterating their cameras pretty predictable, so the X-T3 became what was expected. There are a lot of nice things there. Their optics and colors are some of the best in the industry.
And with the MK lenses they clearly showed, that they are also committed to video shooters. Personally I prefer the handling of the X-H1, but the image quality out of the X-T3 is just better. It might be one of the best cameras to get for video - and that for 1500$!

Yet another 85s for Sony E..
How many of them do we already have? 85FE, Batis 85, 85/1.4 GM, Sigma 85/1.4..
    Still no single 35/1.8.
What's more, why are the Viltroxes so heavy?
The 85/1.8 STM is almost twice as heavy as Sony FE 85.

20/1.8 looks quite nice, though, but it's still a beast.
    ~780g, whereas Tokina Firin 20/2 - 470g, Samyang 20/1.8 - 490g + adapter.

Shot extensively with the 18-55, 16-55, 50-140, 10-24, 23/1.4, 56/1.2 and 55-200 -- all on the XT2. I've also spent time in camera shops demo-ing just about every other X-mount lens available. The absolute worst AF of all my lenses was the 56, followed closely by the 23/1.4. In good light they're fine - slower and noisy compared to the LM lenses like the 16-55 and 50-140. But in dim light they hunt a lot and are really slow to lock. The 56 was useless at night, I just couldn't get it to lock onto anything. I bought it to use as a low light portrait lens and stopped carrying it because it was just so frustrating in use. Bokeh was gorgeous wide open, it has great rendering, but AF is a chore. My Sony 85/1.8 on the a7r2 and now the a73 is a pretty dramatic difference, much faster and very useable in low light conditions. The 23 wasn't as bad as the 56, its moving a lot less glass so that helps. They're both pretty bad for shooting video because of the noise and the hunting. I find the 10-24 to be better in low light, so I typically carry that instead of the 23. The 90 with the LM motors is significantly faster than my 23/56 combo, so are the f/2 primes. I really wish Fuji would update the older primes with newer focusing motors.
