Actually it appears to be a broadcast camera, with a few filmmaking skills (new VLog L with 1 stop higher dynamic range) thrown in.
Also missing IBIS? I am guessing they're going after the Top Gear crowd that caused the blunder of the GH5s in the first place? 

It is being discussed already in the GH6 thread, but yeah, deserves its own thread I think! This could be it. 

Best option would be a second Panasonic S5 but if you don't have the budget yeah the g9 is a good option. Only thing that bothers me is having two different lens mounts, except if you plan on exclusively use EF lenses for example and use EF adapters on each cameras (a speedbooster on the g9 and the regular Sigma MC-21 on the S5).

I thought the same thing about the EOS R. Why do Canon's expensive mirrorless cameras feel like toys? Sony's A7 series does too, as well. But man, the Panasonic cameras are built SO NICE. Love their design, the way they look, feel, operate, and how they feel like professional tools.

I saw an EVA1 on mpb.com being sold for 3600€ with only 70 hours of running time! I was about to buy it but decided to wait a bit, as I needed more a little b-cam to my S1H than a bigger cam. But as my video business is going up, I may have needs for a bigger cam later so I don't have to rent anymore, so an EVA-2 would be very interesting.

I made some simple and informal tests today with my little 5 year old kid running and monkeying around, and I was pleasantly surprised by the S5. Nowhere near my S1h, very different, in a positive way. The AF box sticks to people and faces waaaaaaaay better, and the pulsing didn't showed its ugly face in all the footage I shot today. I was very impressed and it seemed to me like night and day compared to the S1H or the GX80 that I own !
Of course, I really need to make some other tests but for now in video i'm really impressed, for personal and family things, I would definitely use AFC. For professional work and paid gigs, I need to do more tests.

I ordered mine today, and they already charged my card, so I expect it to arrive this week. I don't have any video shoots planned, but I do have a wedding photo shoot on Oct. 3, so this will probably be a great time to put this on my adapted Canon 80-200 f/2.8 along with my S1H and 24-105 f/4. I may set up a cheap model session just to put these duo to a good video test!

Sorry, no YouTube unboxing video or reading of spec list, just an initial impression whilst the battery is charging.
I've come from 8-9 years of Fuji as my main cameras with some dabbling in 1" Sony and M4/3 Panasonic but have otherwise never owned a full frame mirrorless before.
I had Nikon DSLR prior to Fuji for stills with a D7000 for filming...but things have moved on since 2010!
First of all, it feels superb in the hand. In terms of size for handling and my use, just about perfect.
Weight, perfect and I currently have the 20-60mm 'kit' lens attached I bought it with which will become my personal travel lens and my stills work wide angle.
Build quality. Well all my old gear has now been sold but I'd say it's all a step up from Fuji and I had no complaints about that, but the build and finish are superb and the way the dials click and operate etc.
Next up, some stills and video tests to get a feel for how it all works etc and that all important AF test..., but so far, it's all looking good!

Well I just made my balance pre-order payment with CVP in the UK so it must be on it's way very shortly...
Obviously I will do my own testing, but on the basis that the AF works best (for video) at a higher frame rate, APSC crop, longer rather than wider focal lengths and higher shutter speeds, that bodes well as that's how I shoot!
I can always send it back if it's not up to par but I have a feeling, especially for my needs, it's going to be.
Better be as I sold off everything I have in advance to raise the funds and it's my only big shift in kit in 9 years!
I will find out soon enough...

Finally a $2K camera that is free of creaking noises and doesn't bend. Had been waiting for this moment for years.

Size is more timeless than technology and will for many people be more important than megapixels or 4k60p. Making comparisons purely based on specs misses the points when it comes to compact cameras.
I've used the RX1RII a lot, and this seems like a decent alternative. I would still prefer the RX1RII over this for light weight photography, but at least it has a lot of quality of life improvements such as MUCH better battery life, IBIS and 4k.

420 8bit, old style menu system, WTF are they thinking to charge $2000 on it?

Very nice images Juan, well exposed and graded, very clean look even a night. What do you think of the dynamic range? Seems pretty good in your shots.
