If the adapter works flawlessly, they don't have to be in a "rush hour" in lens making. They are ready to release a ridiculously compact 500mm f/5.6 for the F mount. I bet they have already made its AF motor mirrorless-compatible. This is also true about Canon (they even want to release a EF mirrorless, which won't have the lack of lens issue at all).
Besides, unlike Sony, Nikon and Canon and Sigma, have full control on the whole glass process. Though the capacity is not very stretchable, they been doin this business from A to Z, for decades. So if they really want to deliver a dozen new lenses in a relatively short time, they can. Don't expect Canikon accepting help from third parties as Sony did. That's embarrassing for these two big guys that calling themselves Optics company!

I was thinking about the complexity of our visual system that recognizes such small differentiations without any chart.

This huge mount begs for a Cine lens line up.. Nikon won't spend money on that.. hope Samyang and Zeiss do it.

This is why smartphone cameras should use a square sensor.
Then no matter which way you hold the damn thing, it can do landscape 16:9 video with same horizontal field of view.
Phones are easier to hold in portrait so you can't blame the general public for using them that way round

I own both cameras and in the real world the D850 4k is the better looking
    - Fewer instances of moire patterns in full frame 4K pixel binned mode
    - A bit more fine detail on the D850 4K pixel binned mode
    - Both have similarly perfect S35 4K from oversampling 5K crop
    - Thicker files on D850, higher bitrate codec
    - Better colour on D850
Both have some aliasing in the full frame 4K mode.
The DPR chart you point to doesn't really prove whatever your point is... The D850 shows some advantages on there as well. It's only the purple false colour on the extremes of the chart you might be picking up on as a weakness but since you don't say, it's hard to know. In those places on the chart the A7R III is showing extreme aliasing, moire patterns and garbled details. The fine text is also more natural looking on the Nikon output and the instances of moire are fewer.

Its only "assumed" for trolls. For photographers, its real. And there is no photographic "loss" in high ISO. Actually, D850 noise has slightly higher quality.

According to lack of knowledge about Nikon advantages even among its loyal customers. According to their almost invisibility in social media.
Oh you needed a copy of circuit design to evaluate! Well, they can't give it to you ?

Oh certainly yes. Sony semi is way larger than Sony Imaging, and they don't say No to their high-volume-ordering partner in favor of their imaging division. Bussines facts don't care about your feelings.

Lets be honest....companies dont give a damn about Sony's fabrication machines. There are a dozen major facilities that can do that for everybody. Why do companies choose Sony so often? SONY PATENTS! The only way to gain access to Sony's sensor architecture patents....is to BUY access to them and have "Sony" fab them into your sensor! If ANY other plant tries to infringe on Sony patents and "clone" Sony technology, you could literally have your camera pulled from store shelves and be forced to pay damages back to Sony. Its too risky....its much better to give Sony your specs and leagally buy the rest of Sony technology that way. This sensor fab thing is just a big, massive pattent war. And Sony protects their pattents like a pack of wolves protects their kill. Any idea that Sony just happens to be the plant we chose out of thin air by chance to fab OUR sensor is hilarious. Sony sensor architecture PATTENTS are what make their sensors amazing....not their fab equipment. If you take that away then you can go to Aptina or Dalsa or CMOSIS or Samsung our anybody else....thats why companies like Nikon and Panasonic and Samsung dont for their best cameras.

Also worth mentioning, the new MBP are really fast. The high end model as better single core CPU performance than the best IMAC PRO.
The overall performance jump both in CPU and GPU vs 2017 models is enormous.

The new DDR4 memory is very fast. And the faster SSD are out of this world.
In fact PC manufacturer should feel ashamed, as seen in the attached picture.

This is possibly worth its own thread. According to Nikonrumors (no idea how reliable they are), Nikon mirrorless is coming and coming soon (possibly later this month.)
    https://nikonrumors.com/2018/07/03/first-set-of-rumored-specifications-for-the-nikon-mirrorless-cameras.aspx/
The specs sound very similar to the Sony A7iii and A7riii. (Which sounds good to me.)
The big surprise (at least to me) is that it will supposedly have IBIS. It appears to have a new mount which will take an adaptor for f mount lenses.

Eric Calabros reacted to salim in Samsung open to new camera system, joins forces with Fujifilm
I disagree with your conclusions. I think this mostly about mobile phones and perhaps some B2B chip solution.  Most likely Samsung Galaxy S10 or S11 will have a class-leading colors and in return Samsung might become a secondary chip supplier to Fuji to help Fuji differentiate vs. Sony 6500-6700, etc. Anything beyond that is just dreaming.
You underestimate what it will take for a business to return back to a failed venture that they have closed-down once. NX2 that mostly appeals to DSLR filmmakers is a niche market for Samsung. It just makes no sense. There is no money in it. Samsung wants to compete against Sony in the chip market. Even though it's going to be very competitive against Sony, is still less complicated than building an entire support structure around the world to support Samsung cameras, lenses, etc.

Indeed the main customer for this camera is surely vlogger/youtuber/street photographer and do they need a fast aperture or 200mm? Hmm. I'll let Sony figure it out.

Now I understand why Nikon cancelled the DL. If you can't make a modern premium compact and yet keep it under $1000, you better forget it.
