  1. Using EF lenses on RF mount + drop in ND adaptor (so not looking at the awesome and expensive RF 24-70). Replacing ageing Tamron 24-70 VC for something with smoother AF - the focussing can be jumpy and jarring. Looking for decent in-lens stabilisation. Was originally thinking the Tamron G2 but the stabilisation looks sticky for panning. Thoughts / experiences? Anyone using the Sigma 24-70 Art on Canon and can comment on the stabilisation -is it sticky, is it jerky? Mixed reports on internet, some say it’s not effective at all, some say it’s better than the Tamron. Limited footage out there - what I’ve seen looks ok... Will probably rent both the Sigma and Tamron to test, but would be grateful for long term opinions going into this upgrade. Will likely be my workhorse lens for years to come. Cheers. Paul
  2. Check out this little Video i shot on the GH5, Metabones Adapter and the old Sigma 30mm 1.4. (that kendy one :-) ) and the Panasonic 20mm pancake. Most of the Grafitti stuff was Shot at HD at 120 FPS. I should have used the 4k 60 FPS instead to keep the Quality with the digital zooms and reframes... Editing in Premiere. Just a fast Grading with Lumetri Looks.
  3. Shot on A6000 with Sigma 19mm 2.8. All handheld. Thanks for watching!
  4. Testing out lenses with the Iscorama 36 wide open. I really want that separation from the background. It's easy now with the Metabones Speedbooster EF. There is something to be said about full frame lenses used with the Speedbooster vs micro 4/3rds native lenses. Also the Iscorama is the sharpest of the anamorphic adapters, although there are still some lenses that don't do well wide open. Shot on a GH4 4K (before v2.0 firmware, 16:9). Iscorama minimum distance is around 6 feet, half that with the Tokina +0.4 diopter.
  5. Hi, I'm new to this forum, but saw there were a few posts from A7S owners and users on here, so thought somebody may be able to help with the predicament I find myself in. I recently bought a Sony A7S, with metabones EF-E adaptor (Mark IV) and Sigma Art 24-105 lens. I'm having a lot of trouble getting the lens and camera to connect properly - Sometimes, the lens works fine and I can shoot long video clips no problem. However, a large proportion of the time, the set-up has several issues: 1. The aperture randomly jumps 1/2-1 stop either side of my current exposure. 2. The iris won't open and close when I change it in the camera. When it does, there's a 5-10 second delay until the lens catches up with the camera. 3. I have downloaded the firmware upgrade on my macbook, and when I open the app and connect the adaptor, nothing happens. I have also downloaded it on my iMac, and it won't even open, it just crashes straight away. I also tried downloading it on my girlfriends macbook, but it also won't open on there. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Andy
  6. Testing out the new Metabones Speedbooster Canon EF -> m43. Really loving it, and working with Sigma ART lenses it just sings! I really want that shallow depth of field look, and it works a treat. Of course it's really hard to focus at F1, worse using a vari-ND filter too (vignette and darkening of the corners at the highest setting). Paired with the SLR Magic Anamorphot it has a great look!
  7. Just a quick video testing out a Sigma 35-70mm f2.8-4 canon FD mount I found at a local camera shop for $20. It seems to work better as a taking lens than my canon FD f1.4 for some reason, not sure why. It does have a flat front element. From what I have read online most people weren't very happy with sigma zoom lenses in the FD mount, as far as the overall quality. it was all shot wide open around 39/41mm except for the 3rd shot which was at 70mm. I had heard you could use a 35mm + anamorphic on the gh4 without any vignetting but it is pretty severe when I try.
  8. Hello! I recently picked up a GH3 and am wondering what lens setup to purchase. I have done some research and am thinking about these two options. 1. Metabones Speedbooster with a Sigma 30mm 1.4 II (Nikon Mount) as I had the old Sigma 30mm 1.4 on my 550D and loved it! 2. Voigtlander 25mm f0.95 and the SLR Magic 12mm f1.6. Would love to know what you guys think! Thanks :)

  10. Hi guys, I've bought an Olympus OM10 film camera with a 50mm lens. Because I wanted a zoom lens to use with it I got through ebay a sigma 28-80mm f 3.5-4.5 UC zoom. I have just received the lens and I notice that sometimes half of the focus aim inside the viewer gets darker or black. If I'm not wrong it happend too with 50mm lens but then during my photoshots it never happened again. Does anybody knows why this happen?may it be because the camera had no film inside (I was just trying the lens) or because I was in a poor light environment? Thanks for everything guys!

  12. Hello. I am fairly new to shooting dslr video. For the past several months, I've been shooting with a Canon t3i // Canon 50mm f/1.8. I'm now looking into wider (budget-ish) lenses. Obviously there are some really really nice ones I could get for $1000+, but for right now I'm looking for something a little cheaper.  The main two I've been looking at are the Sigma 17-50mm f2.8 and the Sigma 30mm f1.4. My main concern with the 17-50mm is that I'm not going to be satisfied with the f2.8 and might want something even faster. I want my shots to look very cinematic and professional, which this may be a good lens for that, I don't know. My concern with the 30mm is that it won't be wide enough. I don't like how close up my 50mm is on a glidecam, when I shoot outside and want to get a wide shot of the landscape or something. I'm just not sure that the 30mm will be THAT different from the 50mm. Working on a tight budget, I need my lenses to be usable for many different things until I can build up my inventory. The kinds of videos I would shoot are promo videos and weddings, mostly, but I also want to shoot videos of outdoor adventures I go on.   I plan on renting lenses before I make a final decision, but I wanted to get some input before I even did that.   Thanks for your help in advance,   Josh
