  1. Years ago, Tahnee was in a wheelchair and doctors told her she would never be able to dance again. Now she is one of the world's most talented dancers and choreographers. https://vimeo.com/394412259
  2. For the past 3 years I have been working full-time as a volunteer with a non-profit organization creating videos and motion graphics for them. For a majority of this time I have been living in Thailand on the field with them. This is small snapshot of some of the projects I have created with them. Gear –Canon C200 [17-55mm f/2.8, Sigma 18-35mm f1/.8] Panasonic GH5 [Sigma 30mm f/1.4, Panasonic 15mm f/1.7]
  3. I was recently a part of making a short movie, and the camera combination used, i thought might interest someone here. Also there might be someone thinking if the FS700 still works today, as i myself did. The film can be seen here (there are no subtitles, but the story is about a woman that gets stopped in the street by the police, because of the hoodie she is wearing. It's at satire on laws currently being implemented i Denmark) https://www.ekkofilm.dk/shortlist/film/trojen/ For the dialogue parts, we were cutting between a Gh5 and a sony FS700. It worked out great I think, all though it was difficult to get the colors to match. We were also filming outside, so that did not help, with the ever changing sun clouds. For lenses, we used a Canon 24-70 2.8 (with focal reducer) on the GH5, and a Tamron 17-50 2.8 on the FS700. Can you tell which is which? camera A camera B I would not use this camera combo for anything that should be matched quickly, but if you have the time, the FS700 files in 10 bit prores slog and the GH5 10 bit vlog files, were super great to work with. The result is not perfect, but we like it. I love both cameras, and I am amazed how great the FS700 and the odyssey 7q are! We were afraid we would have to change batteries all the time, but big NP-F batteries lastede around 2 hours each (1 in the cam that lasted longer and 1 in the odyssey 7q). Mounted on a shoulder rig, the FS700 is also pretty comfortable, in comparison with for instance, an URSA Mini and weighs about the same, with the odyssey. The buttons are a pain to reach though. For those interested, the dialogue was recorded with at Røde NTG1 shotgun mic to a Tascam 60d. Here are some other shots from the film. (if there is banding in the footage where you see it, it is jpeg/web compression, it is not in the final video file.)
  4. Panasonic DC-GH5 SLR Magic Anamorphot-50 1.33x Anamorphic Adapter Zhiyun Crane v2
  5. GH5 and Iscorama pre36. The way I saw Japan in a 9 days travel. Thanks to webrunner 5 for his help. or https://vimeo.com/271896481
  6. Well technically it is the second one, but the first I am not ashamed to show to everyone This is mostly b-roll footage, it took me 1 day of shooting and 2 days of non stop editing. Shoot on GH5 with 14-140 and 25 1.4. I did most of the shots hand held in 120p and there are a few gimbal shots (like 6 or 7). I know that some of my transitions are pretty lame, but I forgot about in-camera transitions using motion blur and remembered about them only during editing. Now that is the next skill I want to master - more in-camera transitions of all type. Any critics is welcome.
  7. Hi, Thought i would share a short film, that i have worked on for some time, as the technical side of the production might interest someone here You can see the film here. http://www.ekkofilm.dk/shortlist/film/nem-dating/ There are no subtitles, but the synopsis is this: A young high school student gets an after hours job, to pay for a trip around the world with his girlfriend. The job is as a promoter for an online dating site, where he writes to girls there, to keep them as subscribers of the site. One day he realises, that one of the girls are someone close to him, and he tries to make things okay again. The film was shot over a week, and we mainly used the GH5. The camera is awesome and i loved the stabilization function, although it sometimes gave us trouble. We where mostly shooting with a Sigma 30mm 1.4 for canon and a focal reducer, and as this is an aps-c lens, it vignettede on the GH5. That is not so much of a problem, but when the camera was on a shoulder-mount also, it would counteract the internal image stabilizer, and the vignette would "bounce" around. So we found out to either use the camera handheld og turn the is of. Also we could use the ex teleconverter function, this lessened the vignette somewhat. We also used a canon 24-70 L 2.8 lens, and when using this, there where no problems with the bounching vignette, as it is a full frame lens. For lightning we mainly used Yongnuo led light and some Aputures. They worked great, but the aputures are imo a lot better for color reproduction. For sound, we had a Røde ntg1 connected to a Tascam 60d. It was okay, but the ntg1 has a lot of hiss, and really needs to be close to the talent or have a stronger preamp. On the tascam, don't use the highest gain option, it's really noisy. I picked the Gh5 over an ursa mini pro for the film, as i could set it up more quickly, the battery would last longer and we didn't have to carry so much gear, which was important, as for the most time the crew constisted of myself on camera and directing, a sound-recordist and a gaffer/lightning guy. In the editing fase, we had to tweak the colors a lot, especially skin tones took a lot of time to get right, as they where a bit read of camera. But, as we filmed in v-log 10 bit, it was not a problem. I have also shot 8 bit footage with the camera, and the image falls apart when doing any grading in v-log, and i dont like the other profiles. I have read some people cant see the difference between 10 og 8 bit, and neither can i. But when you grade them, there is a huge difference, i would not use buy the gh5 if it did not have v-log and 10bit. In low light i was also supprised how good the image looked, but i am not so afraid of noise. The camera is great in low light, as long as you have a small amount of light on the subject, like a bedside lamp or something. If there is no light, the camera dont look good, but i dont like those kind of images anyway. I have attached some images also, but check the film out, as the stills don't do the footage justice.
  8. Hi Guys, anyone here has shot timelapse with GH5s? Lately, I had a project shooting timelapse with it... and had some issues. The first problem, intermittently... the camera will stop shooting and came out a dialogue box that asked me to turn off and on the camera. After reboot the camera, the camera will continue shooting the timelapse in the same sequence... but the problem will come again couple of times in random. The interval of my timelapse is around 5sec per frame. second, my setup was 5sec interval.... set at aperture priority, Lumix 7-14mm... shooting day to night timelapse... when the shutter hit more than a second... sometimes it opened not not closing back... and cause the camera to jam and keep recording... hanged and not responding.. had to take out the camera battery to reactivate the camera. third issue... when rendering the timelapse into 4k video, it splitted into few different video files... probably cause by the camera stopped or hanged half way... but the camera didn’t indicate it stop the timelapse sequence... it just says ‘pause’.... Any thoughts or sharing would be much appreciated. thanks, Eric.
  9. I never shot with any format other than internal gh4 4k and need to shoot client footage who is requesting 4k Log ProRes LT footage to be used by news. I currently own a GH4 and lenses. Wanted to know what I needed to deliver this type of footage. Should I get an external recorder or buy a GH5s? Can gh5s shoot this internally? Thanks
  10. Hi everybody, I'm here to share my test film of the GH5s. Everything was shot with a flashlight and bounced with reflector. ISO 3200, Nikon lens 50mm f1.8
  11. Wanted to share this latest music video project that was just released. Comments are all welcome!
  12. Hi Everyone! I usually only lurk in the Anamorphic forum, but I recently finished a big spherical project. I teamed up with skater Luis Mora to tell his story while in Tokyo. We shot very quickly all around the city and still didn't get everywhere. I also gained a new respect for skate filmers, as it's really hard to do right. Overall, we met his hard deadline with only hours to spare. Other than wishing I had more time to color correct (Most of the choices were his, especially anything that has been brightened) but I'm pretty damn happy with the result for the time we took to make it! Gear list: Panasonic GH5, 95% shot with V-LOG 4K 60fps and a few at 1080p 120 fps Panasonic Leica Nocticron 42.5mm f/1.2 (75% of shots) Panasonic 12-35mm f/2.8 (20%) Voightlander 17.5mm f/0.95 (5%) Several variable ND filters Beholder DS2A Gimbal with D2S 5th axis arms. Simple tripod screw grip handle Only about half of it was shot with the gimbal. The GH5's stabilization is mind blowing. Using IS Lock at all the right moments makes a HUGE difference. It's a game changer.
  13. I shot this promotional video for the annual Tango Festival here in New Orleans. Shot with c100II and GH5, I really wanted to test out the improvements in the lowlight capabilities with the GH5 over shooting last years festival with the GH4, I was impressed! Edited in FCPX
  14. Check out this little Video i shot on the GH5, Metabones Adapter and the old Sigma 30mm 1.4. (that kendy one :-) ) and the Panasonic 20mm pancake. Most of the Grafitti stuff was Shot at HD at 120 FPS. I should have used the 4k 60 FPS instead to keep the Quality with the digital zooms and reframes... Editing in Premiere. Just a fast Grading with Lumetri Looks.
  15. So, I recently purchased a GH5 and I'm having an issue with some of my tests. Anything with small wires or sometimes even sharp edges becomes pixelated when the camera is still in 180fps mode. It is driving me crazy and I'm wondering if I am doing anything wrong. Normal 1080p 60 fps does not give the same results. The first clip shows the camera moving up and down. When it settles shooting straight forward, the wires become pixelated. It does not do it in the second shot at 60 fps. The third shot is on a gimbal and it's constant in the shot. What am I doing wrong? Or is it my camera? Or is it just a common VFR/high speed issue? I have shot 120fps on my Sony countless times int his same area and I can't recall it being this bad.
  16. Hey Guys! My previous video provided me with a lot of feedback that was really helpful. I love making small video's as a hobby and always looking to be as creative as possible. Recently i made a new video with the GH5, Leica 42.5mm F1.2 & Leica 15mm F1.7 the drone footage is from a Mavic. Could you guys please be so kind to provide me with some feedback or overall useful things to keep in mind? Thanks guys!
  17. Hello! I would like to share my work done with GH5 + FM Lens (Kowa inside) and russian taking lenses. Musicvideo is still under work but here is promo clip for upcoming video. Will post it here soon when it's complete.
  18. Hey guys and girls! I posted this video on another forum(MU43) and the friendly people over there pointed me at this forum since i was asking for feedback. I love to make pictures and short video's as an amateur but i am always looking to improve, i try to keep the suggestions in mind while making future video's and i would love to get some feedback on the video mentioned below: Thanks in advance! 19. We had the GH4 for quite some time – even bought a second one! – and we just loved it. So we decided to get the GH5! Here's our first bigger project with our new camera. We also shot with a GH4 and a Sony A7s as second and third camera and a Came Optimus gimbal. Let me know what you think. Constructive criticism appreciated! Allegra
