We shot an indie musical feature earlier this year on the BMPCC6K in Tokyo. It was the best choice for our budget range $40,000 ~ $50,000 and our DP just ended up buying it as opposed to renting. Other gear was Nikkor Lenses and TIffen Black Pro Mist 1/4, plus a lot of smoke machine use, and grain addition in post to try to a achieve something approaching a 'film look'. The trailer is much lower res than the finished film but we're super pleased with the results: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKF0YxqqEiY&t=2s

Fingers crossed the R6 will have the same video spec, but knowing Canon: probably not.

This project I was camera operator and gaffer. It was mostly lit with 2 Godox 60w LED's and a Pixel 220w LED's, we occasionally used a few other lights as well as natural light of course. Haven't run into any issues. Recording straight to an SSD. I don't have access to the footage but everything I've seen so far looks really nice. We have been lighting things pretty well though.

I was pretty happy with the performance I was seeing out of them. I wasn't really aware of their existence previously. We didn't use pro mist filters.

Love the super taks, my second favorite lenses after the Leica-r. Were you using pro-mist filters too?

Yeah the 5D MK3 is way better than the EOSM and 50D in every respect, IQ, DR, high ISO, and yes preview is real-time with proper framing, just like regular liveview only with a lot more display options. Magic Lantern has the same dynamic range as 14bit raw photo mode: 11.7 stops @ 100 ISO. It's a filmic grade, so the blacks are somewhat crushed. I'm not a big fan of low contrast or HDR type looks unless it's a creative decision driven by a particular narrative.
I have a Pocket 4K too, but I still like the look of the 5D MK3, the color science, cadence, and highlight rolloff are very good. About the only things I don't like about the 5D are its high ISO performance, fixed pattern noise, and limited dynamic range. It looks great upscaled to 4K. I always use a promist filter on the Pocket 4K, it looks too digital without out.
My gut feeling is: I should wait for a 3rd party OLPF before I take the plunge with the FP. I do really like the color science and the form factor.
    Nice shot.

I was hoping the FP would be a 4K replacement for my 5D MK3 with Magic Lantern, but so far I haven't really seen anything that suggests it's much of an upgrade. Here's some sunrise beach shots taken with Magic Lantern 14bit lossless raw upscaled to 4K for comparison. The FP is definitely an improvement shooting high ISO, but it doesn't look like there's any dynamic range improvement, which is disappointing. The thing that concerns me the most is the aliasing and moire, which hasn't been a problem with the 5D.

    TRIGGER WARNING
"I was pushed onto the bed and Brett got on top of me. He began running his hands over my body and grinding his hips into me. I yelled, hoping someone downstairs might hear me, and tried to get away from him, but his weight was heavy. Brett groped me and tried to take off my clothes. He had a hard time because he was so drunk, and because I was wearing a one-piece bathing suit under my clothes. I believed he was going to rape me. I tried to yell for help. When I did, Brett put his hand over my mouth to stop me from screaming."
You may think that's just foreplay, but as far as the law is concerned, that's sexual assault.
And BTW: Running defence for a sexual predator: really gross.

AFAIK it's a mode on the sensor itself so the data coming off the sensor is binned in that mode. This is why the rolling shutter is so much better in that specific mode. It is also 12 bit even to SD Card.
However the FHD can show aliasing on smooth lines
IMHO you are better shooting UHD (even in 8 bit) and downsampling to HD in post. Much, much better result assuming you can achieve the frame rate you want.
The sensor (if it is the one we all think it is) does have a 4K DCI binned mode in 14 bit - this would be really nice to have. Otherwise all the cDNG formats are 12 bit max, so you will only see 12 stops max (real stops)  from the image. I have tested stills DNG with cine DNG and can quite clearly see the missing stops at the top end. I would say it's closer to 1 to 1.5 stops difference.
    But....
If you look at the S1H for example (same sensor perhaps?) in 6K mode C5D is claiming 12.7 stops of range. Well the difference is that the S1H is *probably* doing highlight reconstruction as part of white balancing and baking out a movie. This would yield a few more stops on a wedge chart (it's ideal for wedge charts!). It would be interesting to see a RAW test with the S1H. But the fp will get you the same range, with reconstruction (Lightroom does it anyway and resolve it's a checkbox) perhaps more.
Colourwise it's good. I can match Red footage but the Red has more range, at least 2 or 3 stops more on a practical basis. I've shot side by side through ranges. The ISO matches fairly well as well but i would tend to expose the fp slightly higher when possible to protect the shadows.
As for those Videos - RAW is not simple to handle properly - simple as that.
The second video shows the guy really has *no idea* what he's talking about or understands what RAW is and sensors in general, it's almost comically bad.
The bad blacks - it's difficult to say without seeing the RAW he shot - i suspect it is massively underexposed and he's pulled the shadows up. The thing about RAW is that with no compression you will see each pixel the sensor saw. As there is no noise there i guess the ISO was very low therefore probably just failed to expose correctly. Because it's linear - as i keep saying - the first 3 stops are represented in 7 code values. Usually compression just screws this totally and they're expanded out and noise from compression hides this but this is what the sensor (any sensor!) sees
    cheers
    Paul

Very impressive at -3 stops, doesn't lose saturation like the Pocket 4K and X-T3 do.

This guy is not a fan. I suspect he's never graded linear raw before.

You can spot the fools duped by the Soviet propaganda machine because they regurgitate the buzzword phrases they’ve been fed; “so-called,” “like a fiddle,” “the libs,” etc. You all sound like someone pulled the string on the back of your Putin dolly.

So far the right-wing commenters here are relying on gaslighting, straw men, and false equivalency. Not a single fact or citation to defend Comrade Trump. But I suppose if this was the guy I thought was a hero of the people, I’d have nothing to go on either.

Oh, I'd disagree quickly with that.  Who we are in life is who we are as filmmakers.  Unless you're just a straight ahead craft-person singularly focused on the technical, you should always give some of what you and who you are are to your creations.   I mean, that's just a prerequisite for this sort of work.
Otherwise, what's really the point, right?
So, I really don't have a problem with it.  There's more common ground that divergence (still) than we might admit.  Might be hard to believe when we're behind these keyboards a lot of time, but when one is actually out there in the real world it's evident.

It's worth noting that Obama and the Clintons are masters of deception too, but in their case it's a so-called 'enlightened' audience who have been deceived. Political parties are cults, and ideology is a curse on humanity.

There are no alternative truths, just distortions. A serial fraud, Trump is a master at deceiving the intellectually lazy.
Having heard the testimony, if I were on a Jury I would find Brett Kavanagh guilty of rape. But I can understand how your ideology blinds you from the truth.

Obviously this is a shit show, but thanks for pointing it out Andrew and not just shaking your head and keeping quiet.
Almost as bad as the people who view democracy as a game of sports and want their team to win at all costs, are the "enlightened centrists" who think not participating in politics or taking a neutral stance somehow makes them better.
Politics affects basically every aspect of your life, by choosing not to participate you're letting yourself be taken advantage of. And democracy shouldn't be about which party wins or loses, ideally society in general should be winning. In the case of Trump, if you divorce his words and actions from his brand (Republican) they're still at best unintelligent and contradictory and at worse dishonest and actively harmful. This would be true even if they were coming from a Democrat.
