While not 4k, I would recommend a C100 for low light. The 1080p will be better (in quality and low light) than the EOS R 1080p and they are easy to match. You might even get away with mixing C100 1080p and EOS R 4k without anyone noticing. You can find these C100 like dirt cheap. Found myself one for 800€ with atomos ninja 2 and other stuff included.

Indeed. I have no need for 8k, still doing 1080p here at the moment 🤣
But good PDAF and tracking would be perfect for one-man and gimbal operation. -

Everyone I think. But until they 'fix' autofocus, we'll not be seeing a GH6...

How about a smaller and cheaper C100 like camera (c1000?) with EF-M mount 😎

GLS courier?

Sender might be in trouble with eventual dishonest consignees going along such service pattern by the Courier.
Almost every delivery company I had sometimes does that. Giving it to the neighbors, leaving it on your doorstep, putting it in the mailbox, etc... They get paid for every package they deliver and not every trip they make, that is the real problem.

C100 Mk2 with IBIS and RF Mount.
Would love it, but the C200 is the new C100. We will likely never see a C100 mk3.

Did Canon give a release date for those 2 cameras?
Looks to me like the (canon) rumor sites are mostly pretty accurate on release date.

So more 2020 camera plans coming to reality. I just got a good deal on a Sony F3 ($500), it also came with the 444 upgrade😎
Nice deal, but why are these 'sxs' memory cards so f*cking expensive??? Two 32GB cards will cost you as much as the camera.

It is probably just M50 electronics rehoused on a Rebel body.
Indeed. You can get the M50 for less than half the price.
Get a cheap viltrox speedbooster and you have almost full frame. -
The bigger question is, with the R5 and R6 coming (and being to expensive for me), will we get a clearance sale for the original R? Would love to buy the R for around 1000 - 1200 euro as it's a mini 5DIV with better codec.

No 8K this year for Panasonic...
Guess there aren't even any Sony image sensors at the moment that have 8K.
Any 8K camera that isn't in production yet will be atleast a year wait from now.

Canon’s product development announcement is working as intended.
Guess they want the NLE's to start supporting 8K, otherwise 8K footage will be useless.

It shoots 4K at 24p exclusively, so that means it is meant for serious cinematographers only. No home videos, blockbusters only. No wonder no has the cohones to step up to it.
If you switch to PAL you will be able to do 25p (only), guess it doesn't have the power to do 30p in 4k.

Looks like it is a M50 in DSLR body

Why don't they make a MFT - EF speedbooster adaptor with ND filters like Canon did?

This camera has been so hyped and delayed and anticipated that I’m afraid whatever they do will disappoint.
Unless they add internal NDs and RAW or something crazy.
And 16k 😎

Z cam uses ASIC and implemented h264, h265, prores, and raw all on the same camera. Canon has way more resources and I assume could also develop a prores asic.
The advantage of an FPGA is that you can reconfigure it on the fly. Just load the software into it what you need at the moment. An asic with everything hardcoded in may be larger and more expensive.

In my opinion - ProRes encoding doesn't have to be on the main ASIC - Can't it be a separate FPGA chip or ASIC? Either way, a ProRes ASIC should have been in development in Japan ages ago and ready to go. Instead we are still asking and they are unable / unwilling to invest and deliver. Very frustrating.
These FPGA chip are not only expensive but do also consume a lot of battery power.
Maybe they think for consumers the ProRes is too confusing?
Anyway, bigger question is, why was there never ProRes in their Cxxx line?I'm glad the Canon mirrorless are getting better video.
While the Cxxx camera's may have better connectivity and ND filters, they are big, have no weather sealing and have just a plastic body. -
How about Panasonic getting some better AF capabilities? They need that more than 8k...

But I guess 8K is more headline grabbing for them to say “hey, we’re back in the video game”.
Yeah indeed. Maybe 8k video is only available in full auto mode, you never know with Canon 🤣

But it'll be 8-bit with 30+ ms of rolling shutter
Who cares, it can tick off the 8k30 and 4k120 box. Not that anyone will have 10-bit 8k any time soon...

What's the quickest way to downscale 4k to 1080p? Does it make sense to scale down the footage before editing to have better performance if the output would be 1080p anyway?
I use handbrake, but maybe there are better options? Use it to mix c100 1080p and M50 4k downscaled to 1080p (as M50 native 1080p is soft).

When the EOS R5/R6 is announced I am sure as hell Sony will pull the trigger.
Unless they have 8k 60fps it will be too little too late.

Out of curiosity, how do you do that and what do you promise and deliver the client?
I find wedding photography when I'm alone a full time occupation.
Tried to do wedding videography alone (without photography) and it was even more stressful and nearly impossible.
What is your secret (outside of autofocus)???
