Canon left the DSLR vid game for 10 years  with no innovation and now they are about to hit with a bang like they never left.

Doubt we will see zebra's, waveform monitor, vectorscope, false color, double slot recording, etc... But a simple hdmi monitor/recorder will provide you that.

But indeed see them giving you decent 8k, good dpaf, canon colors, peaking, etc... Will be a good B-cam for C300/500 or A-cam for enthousiasts/vloggers/...

    That's what I'm asking haha...

If you don't have the skills it's better not to open it yourself. From teardown videos it looks rather complicated and it is very easy to completely kill it.
Just use this one with manual lenses. You can still use the viltrox with manual lenses (EF, M42, etc...) to get wider fov.

  3. Sounds to me like the fuse of the power supply that powers the mount is burned out. Should be possible to fix if you know what to look for.
Silkscreen on PCB might be indicate them with Fx (where x is a number). Try measuring the fuses and pins with a multimeter.

Worse. Less detail, more moire and aliasing.

The DPReview chart of 90D shows you what to expect.

Compare it to the X-T30 or X-T3 and it's even more clear how mushy it is and how much moire there is going on

Yeah, I'm seeing it. 4k is pretty bad indeed, but 1080p looks very good to me (especially in comparison to 7d2/80d and even a bit better then m50).

It almost looks like 1080p is downscaled 4k (or 4k upscaled 1080p :p). Don't see much difference between the two.

24p is not that important to me as i live in a PAL country and don't do feature films. Use 25p all the time. But this are the first 4k Canon cameras which image quality video is really lacking. EOS M50 and EOS R are capable of producing very nice creamy image despite the crop. This ones seem to suffer from the poor upscaling. This way there's no point shooting with a Canon any more.

The YouTube video above suggest the M6ii 4k quality is much better and sharper then the M50 or EOS R. So what is it now?

I've shot over 50 Weddings with the Pocket 4K.  Never let me down.  It even got knocked to the floor twice, and kept on recording to the USB drive.  When a similar thing happened to my GH5, it shut down and the file was badly corrupted.  Best camera I've owned.  :). And to think I very nearly cancelled my pre-order last December....

Thanks, good to know. Would you recommend it instead of the GH5 for weddings then?

the only great thing about a6600 you don't even mention is continuous eye AF in video, do you know another camera that can do that ? a f1. 4 closeup with the $289 sigma 30mm will open up the possibility of interview with nearest eye in focus and the rest of the face blurred a very intimate image with cinematic intensity

How about an entire wedding video with only one eye in focus and everything else blurred ?

They must be neglecting PDAF for a reason. I don't think for a second they can't do it. Their cameras are widely accused of this shortfall so they must be listening.  I think they feel they've got something better up their sleeve........

    Likely patents.

Why doesn't Panasonic release a CXXX style body? Would love those ergonomics, extra buttons, build-in ND's, ...

You can get an EOS RP for that.

But then you lose 4k dpaf. But the 90D remains expensive in comparison. They at least could have included 24p for the price ?
