Video from BM (with lots of low-light shots):
Cinematography: Dima Kalenda
Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K
Blackmagic RAW Constant Bitrate 5:1
ISO 3200 6K (6144 x 3456) 50 fps
Atlas Orion Anamorphic T2 32mm @ T4 EF mountThe IQ from the taks is really nice, definitely good lenses.
I can't believe people like that much crop just so you can have 2x anamorphic.

If I understand it correctly, those PRE and POST adjustments are just for exposure and black levels. Why not just use the Resolve wheels to correct?

How did the XT3 do financially?

Thinking about selling my A7SII and buying the 4K BMPCC. Does anyone have any experience with using this on a gimbal? Is it a hassle to balance?
I currently run the A7SII as a B-CAM for my C200, but the slow mo quality is really getting to the point where it sticks out like a sore thumb. I run it nice and light with manual focus lenses on the Zhiyun Crane v2, so I'd be looking to upgrade both the camera and the gimbal. You'll need an offset plate or a cage since the Pocket 4K is too wide for the popular gimbals out there.

Yep, this uses the Cineye.
Its the simultaneous aspect of it being on the same screen without switching thats the difference.
All to do with scaling the interface to enable it which is a bit more work and maybe even hosting the stream directly.
Ultimately, its whether people are prepared to pay the £200 for the Cineye that I'm trying to establish.
In some respects I've got no dog in the fight as I won't be making any money from the hardware so its more a question of whether its something worth including as a service option within the app.
Ohhh.. that makes more sense.

I still remember when gimbals didn't exist and people were drooling over glidecams except they would be told that it would take years to learn. Lol.

The 360 Max is the right direction for action cams.
Why do you think so?

Let's hope Sirui will make it more accessible and easy to use.
( :I saw their product video with the XT-3 on it and it looked good to me. I plan to get one for the Pocket 4K.

I gotta figure out how to do the anamorphic thing. Those videos always turn out awesome!

While someone was mentioning the SLR anamorphot adapters, what do you guys think about this setup on a Pocket 4K?
-
Sorry if this is a rookie question but can I assume that this lens is manual focus only?
-
So, what are you guys excited about in this model?

These new recorders are HUGE, in my opinion. Black Magic Raw is perhaps the best codec currently available that isn't made by Red. Beautiful 12-bit raw footage that can actually take up less space than ProRes LT or All-I 10-bit H264. I have almost bought Black Magic cameras many times just for the codec, but I edit in Premiere and don't particularly love their cameras.
With today's update, I can continue to use the EVA-1 or C300 Mark II, record everything in the amazing BM Raw AND still edit in Premiere (though I should just switch to Da Vinci)! These recorders breathe some serious life back into cameras like the EVA-1 and C300II.
Pretty amazing that Black Magic would do this. They are really working to get people into their full workflow and using some part of their tools. They will sell a lot of these recorders, probably at the expense of a few Ursas and Pockets, but they will have a lot more people in their ecosystem now.
Hats off, BMD. This is amazing.
I think you are right. 4D Chess by BMD. Well done.

Talk of a big Blackmagic raw update

I've tried the Hoya (non Solas), Tiffen, Aurora PowerXND Mk II and settled on the SLR Magic. That filter does tend to warm the image so you should use the Image Enhancer filter to compensate.

How can z6 compare to xt3 when it can't do 4k/60?

Don't see too many Pocket 4K vs Panasonic S1 videos out there. I'd be curious what the side by sides look like.
