Why do you think that? I know of people who purchased new URSAs during the last couple of years.

As for the P6K, I thought they're using an identical sensor to the P4K but just a bigger cut of it? So a 4K crop of the P6K should be identical to the P4K?

I think it's different. Even the color rendition looks different.

    43Rumors says:

    20MP

    4k30p

3.8 MP EVF in the middle of the camera

    Near gx9 size

G100 with 12-32mm kit lens will cost  $749

Unless it has better auto focus I can't see why this is a better vlogging camera than any of the other lower end Panasonic cameras. Maybe if it removes the crop and has better stabilization? But even then, with how cheap you can get a G85 or even GH5 used... 🤷🏻‍♂️ No 4K60p is just dumb.

If true,  no reason to go for this Panasonic vs the Sony ZV-1.

  3. Blackmagic Davinci Resolve 16.2.3 just released with notes:

What's new in DaVinci Resolve 16.2.3

Support for Dolby Vision 4.1 CM algorithm to generate v2.9 trims from v4.

Option to export a Dolby Vision v2.9 XML from a v4 project.

    Support for RED SDK 7.3.2.

Faster Metal decoding for Canon EOS-1D X Mark III and EOS R5 clips.

No idea why, you don't find anything better for such price range. Even for higher, I'd dare to state, follows this impression of mine : -)

Probably because the pocket 4K was so good for its low asking price and its users didn’t think the 6k was worth almost 2x price just to have slightly more resolution and an EF Mount while giving up their speed boosters.

The RX100 Va is only $100 more, and used one is cheaper.  I recently bought a used RX100VI for half price mainly as travel cam, and occasional slowmo.

Guess for vlogger it wouldn't matter much, but 1s is way too short for capturing slow mo.

I thought the ZV-1 was based off the VII design since the VI doesn't have a mic port or Active Steadyshot?

HFR of the ZV-1 is a huge let down vs previous RX100, 1s in quality priority and 3s in time priority vs 4s in quality & 7s in time priority of older RX100VII/VI/V, even IV the first model to have HRF have longer duration (2s & 4s).

Finally a bigger distinguishing feature other than the EVF. I can see someone paying the extra $400 just to have the recording times

Ok, let me rephrase my statement: Is anyone expecting a cinematic image from a fixed zoom lens 1" camera combinatoin that has been around for ages and we all know exactly how it performs even before we see a sample video?

I think the question should also be asked if someone calls themselves as a filmmaker, if they're actually making films or just making YouTube videos.

The EODHD forum's toughest pill to swallow: even the best image quality, the best low light ISO performance, the best AF, the best lightning, the best sound, the creamiest of bokeh cannot sell shitty/niche content. You need a good story/performance or at least a gripping reality soap opera (which can be told by a workhorse HD camera, that has been forgotten by GAS).

The Vimeo vs YouTube argument in a nutshell.

To be fair, I don't think anyone makes a 4k 60p compact camera do they?

    Overheating issues I guess?

I am actually considering one to replace my camcorder that has the same sensor for purely ceremonies and speeches at weddings which I only film in 4k 25p.

    Why? Size/portability.

Early days yet...other than knowing it's the same sensor and I used to use the RX100V at weddings, I'm not sure about battery life or whether it can be run off a power bank whilst recording etc, - some investigating to do.

Had the original RX10 'bridge' camera and it was actually pretty decent.

The counter argument seems to be that even phones can do it now.

Yay, the 0.0000001% of the world that are vloggers now have their camera, albeit requiring the selfish stick option as it’s not quite wide enough, but yay anyway.

Only slightly tongue in cheek, it looks good for this market segment and I used to have an RX100v and liked it.

I think if the 4K went to 60p or the lens would remain at a constant f1.8, I could find a use for one as a pocketable point & shoot stealth video cam.

Sony can’t seem to put together a camera that can do 4K/60 that isn’t a big one you carry on your shoulder.

    Pocket 6K
    - better codec, raw options, small, great performance
    - better screen
    - better menu system
    - better slow motion quality but crop

    S1H
    - better color (V-Gamut) and better dynamic range/low light
    - much better battery life - no rig needed
    - IBIS
    - no crop 120p but line skipping and what seems like 10 bit readout

Artifacts are a non-issue on both now that Panasonic finally fixed the NR (-1 setting) and H265 codec issues. Motion cadence also looks similar on the S1H now.

For the 120P, BMPCC6K also does 2.8K while the S1H can only do 1080.
