  1. The funny thing about Max's comparison video is that it made the Sony IBIS look really bad and I see Daniel Schiffer pull off some awesome moves handheld with his A7III all the time.  Which leads me to think that the XT4's IBIS is more than enough to achieve that level of movement.

If they could do the Olympus thing and actually use phase detect autofocus. Depth from de-focus is a nice additional method, but it should never be the main method of focus, it was just betting on a wrong horse

"It even has 'de-focus' in the name!"

    What?

No way, I'll take my GH5 for video over this everytime.  I use anamorphic and 6k all the time.

I don't see how this is an upgrade from my GH5.

Though, I do have an X-T2 for stills, now maybe for that...

Man.. as an ex GH5 user, I'd go with the XT4 every time, unless I'm using anamorphics.  Bigger sensor, better color, better autofocus.

The IBIS has that ugly warping in every video I've watched so far. AF tracking looks like its taken a step forward. Solid camera if they can get the IBIS sorted.

It'd be funny if Fuji just put the Warp Stabilizer algorithm into the camera.

    I'd get the Pocket 4k,

Reasons: Larger FOV with speedbooster (1.3 crop vs 1.6), ability to shoot 4k with no crop(don't want 6k all the time).

So it depends on the person. The Pocket 6k has better color science, higher resolution, more dynamic range. Big downsides for me is you can't shoot non cropped 4k RAW and of course no prores 6k(not as big of deal), worse internal battery life(if you'll use internal batteries), EF mount (could be good or bad?).

If you don't make a ton of your camera purchases the Pocket 4k could save you 1k that could go to rigging it out (or buying food to live lol)

    Good writeup.

I've been tempted to upgrade my P4K to P6K many times.  But, I always stop when I see that the P6K can't do 4K/120 although I dig that its anamorphic has more resolution than the P4K.

Just from a lot of research I've done. Too low and you don't get engagement, too high and people start tuning out. Obviously it doesn't mean you can't monetize a 4 minute video or a 29 minute one. But to YouTube, somewhere in that 7 min range is their sweet spot for most of their content.

I'm surprised that YouTube wouldn't have an analytics engine that tells you the exact number.

    • Length of content. It's a double-edged sword. YT wants ~7 minute videos. It's the maximum engagement number. Longer videos with great engagement can do multiple ad breaks and still retain the user, which goes against the 7 minute rule.

How do you know that 7 minutes is the magic number?  Seems like a weird number.

Source is on fire today, apparently new firmware 4.0 for X-T3 is around the corner:

HD/240 is going to be a standard thing now?  I like where this trend is going.

Doesn't seem to be the case according to the linked document.

    I hope this isn't true.

Could you shoot full sensor with an anamorphic lens and crop though?

Where at? I've been scouring the whole internet for a deal, cause it's either that, a used X-T3, an RP, or the E2C. I can't even really find a worthwhile price used, except for a dude who was selling one with a cracked screen he later sold for $500.

Check the Facebook Marketplace. Also, people post on the Blackmagic Pocket 4K FB Group too.

It's taking too long. Lots of ppl might jump tp XT4 or start thinking about going back to Canon. Panasonic should strike back sooner than that. And they need PDAF 😏

Could we really have 3 new cameras this year, all with flippy screens?  This is the Jetsons future I imagined.

I was lucky enough to break six figures last year with 73,000 subs. I’ve never enjoyed my work more and i’ve never made more in my life. I highly recommend it if you’re thinking of starting a youtube channel.

Just based on Amazon affiliate links!?
