thebrothersthre3 got a reaction from Zeng in Panasonic S1H review / hands-on - a true 6K full frame cinema camera
I'd like to see it against the Sigma FP and Nikon with 12 bit RAW.

Thats crazy, they should just call it internal recording at that point. This makes this camera much more attractive. Really no excuse for the S1H not to have this.

This might be my next camera. Would of course be amazing if they can get a compressed RAW in there to save on file sizes. 4:1 would be awesome and 8:1 even better.

I hate on Sony all the time but in the end the A73 is probably the best all around camera you can buy, especially for the price. If they trickle down their high end cinema camera color to their hybrids they will be unbeatable. Until then I am happy with Fuji.

Yeah that does look really good.
I'd have to dig through my footage and put something together! Detroit is a beautiful city.

Yeah there was one shot where I wasn't sure if it was an Iphone or Black Magic. But in general all the wides looked pretty bad.
The lowlight is the biggest flaw. My Fuji is way better in lowlight lightyears, but I still am tempted to go full frame sometimes for that added stop or two.

I was honestly surprised how bad the iPhone looks sometimes. Seems to do well with close ups, but wide shots look nasty. The sharpening is pretty terrible. I was expecting more. That said maybe there are after market apps that can improve the look, maybe bypass internal sharpening?? Otherwise its a hard no. The HDR seems to have a weird effect on the footage sometimes too, like it degrades the image further.

Yeah I use a focal reducer + fast primes to get that edge on my Fuji.

Yeah, I've heard that more frequently... to just bring back the Atomos 'Ninja Star'-philosophy. Just a screenless recorder! Maybe one day someday someone will answer our prayers.
Regarding APS-C, yeah, I'm not really a firm believer of the Fujifilm approach either. Sony's APS-C E-mount may rot in hell... together with Canon's EOS-M. I might've contemplated going APS-C/S35, but just not like this I'm not. Indeed hoping maybe a higher-end version is on the horizon??
That upcoming E-M5 Mark III might be something to look out for now... I just don't want to commit to a fullframe ecosystem.

Something truly affordable would be amazing.
I'd love to see an external recording device that was pretty tiny with no monitor, just like a box with a light.

XT30 is the same price with 10 bit output.

Both are reliable systems. The Blackmagic's are brighter, Ninja V is more affordable though and seems plenty bright.

Haven't had any issues on my Ninja 2, the thing I am more worried about is the micro HDMI connection on my fuji. But yeah its pretty solid.

How innovative of Canon to include 24p in a firmware update!

Still from a short I am working on. This isn't going to make it into the cut, but it was too cool not to share.

From everything I heard connections are the real benefit of going to school, of course the better the school the more useful the connections. If you are a socialite you can make connections without school though. It can definitely help motivate one to actually do work and learn, but if you can get a production job that accomplishes the same thing. For corporate type 9-5ish jobs having a masters on your application can definitely help, though in this visual land your work can also speak for itself.
