1 - He works very had. The amount of stuff he is uploading and reviewing is insane.
2 - He is very good at time management. He is very effective at using any extra time he has to shoot his YT material. 5 minutes here 5 minutes there.
3 - He has external professional gigs and seems very professional.
4 - He has charisma for YT and knows how to play the YT game well. His followers are skyrocketing in the last few mounts.

He works very hard, he has talent that translates well to YT followers and he just seems like a  very nice likable guy.

Good for him! I wish I could be as good and as productive as he is.

I was in the first batch and have not received my drone yet. But after watching some of the early reviewers I messaged them yesterday and asked to cancel my order.

1 - the AI follow mode looks interesting, but was not impressive. I think the technology needs another 2-3 years to mature.
2 - Mavic 2 pro (was discounted to near the same price) is probably a better choice for me who wants a better camera for photography
3 - video the HDR mode of skydio looks promising for daylight, but for lowlight the mavic 2 seem to be doing better.
4 - the drone tracking you is not very cinematic. To get the cinematic angle and movement you want, you have to  manually fly the drone yourself.
5 - manual flight with the supplied joystick didn't seem that good
6 - DJI might be releasing Mavic 3 in a month and might have a good-enough AI built-in with much better image quality which is better for my needs.

If I was mountingbiking in open fields or other activities, the skydio AI might have been better a choice. For photography and video work with occasional activities that I want a drone to follow me, DJI and its next iteration will probably meet my needs better.

Of course! The 6400 is not the camera for someone like you. But it doesn't make it a "turkey".  It's like a car person saying VW Golf is a turkey because it's not a Porsche. VW sells a lot of Golfs even if they're just front-wheel drive that understeer and are not as much fun for people who love rear-wheel drive cars.

That said, I don't love Sony cameras and that's probably what you're referring to. They're good gadget but never feel like a tool you want to use. I have the 6000 and the A7Riii.

I'm glad the 6400 kept the old battery and stay true to its size. I think sony understands this market segment well. They are delivering everything a newcomer would want and more. Most importantly you want the camera to work. What that means is, that it takes good videos or photos. Most people people would not care about bit depth, etc. What they want is photos or videos that are in focus. Secondly they want it to work where a phone would not work, like in dark situations etc. This is what this camera is optimize to do. A small little wonder that you can use to take selfies, low light photos and videos and the AF is so good that you're 95% guaranteed to take a photo or video that looks decent.

Sony will acquire more new users and some of them might ultimately invest more into the ecosystem of Sony. It's a market win for them.

salim reacted to kye in Simulating a Tiffen Black Pro Mist filter in post
I quite like the look of the Tiffen Black Pro Mist filter, and thought that I could simulate the effect in Resolve.  (This conversation started in another thread but I think it deserves its own)
My theory was that if you can simulate it in post then it's more flexible, so you can mix it in to taste, and its also cheaper, applies to all your lenses, can be applied to historic footage, etc..
Here's the video showing what these filters do thanks to @heart0less

I've had an attempt and I'm now convinced that a completely accurate simulation is not possible.
To explain why, here's an unmodified screen grab:

and here's the waveform of that shot:

Here are the reasons you can't do a completely accurate emulation:
    The Tiffen doesn't "clip".
The flare from the light globe is much brighter than the flare from the hair light on the blond lady, but in the "no filter" waveform you will note that these have very similar values because the globe is clipped.  Also, the flare from the globe is coloured, which presumably is from the tint of the globe, however because the waveform is clipped that colour information is lost.
The Tiffen has a very wide flare pattern and will include lights outside the field of view.
There don't appear to be any flares from off-camera lights in the above shot, however we can tell that the Tiffen has a very wide pattern because the level of the dark background is raised for almost the entire width of the frame but the exposure seems to be the same (by comparing the levels of the grey cards at the left of the shot).
If you are using this filter and it is being hit with sunlight from any angle I think you'll get the influence of that everywhere in the shot, because although it might be very off-angle the sun is practically an infinitely bright light.
However, I think we can probably make a passable attempt that might work in some situations.
Here's the original of lady #1:

    and my simulation:

    Lady #2:

Same simulation as above applied to lady #2:

The logic of this preset is this:

The Tiffen has a non-linear rolloff, so I have simulated it using blurs of two different sizes, one smaller size applied to the Highlights and a larger one applied to the Mids and Shadows.  If I really wanted to get serious about it I might try converting to a Log colour space and doing the blur in there before converting back to REC709, but that's something for another day.
I think that preset looks pretty good for both of these shots, but unfortunately, if we apply that preset to the main shot then we see that it definitely isn't suitable for all shots:

If I play with the levels and add a third blur that is highlights only and is even smaller radius then we get a better result, but it highlights the issues I mentioned earlier:

If you're going to try and use this effect in post then I would suggest a number of things:
Shoot in Log and don't clip any highlights from any colour channel If you move the camera don't have any lighting going in and out of the frame (because the effect will start and stop when it does which will look very un-natural) Experiment with applying the effect before you convert from log to any other colour space (after all, a Tiffen filter gets applied before the conversion) Experiment with different blur types - I used Gaussian Blur in the above, but maybe other types will look nicer? The Mids and Shadows processing chain is the kind of "beauty" element, and the Highlights processing chain is the "flares" element, so you can mix these to your taste I hope that is useful, and that Tiffen don't object to me using clips from their video!!

    Exactly right!
@Andrew Reid assessment is wrong here. He is not looking at this camera in the big picture of Sony's product line and product strategy roadmap.

Sony if offering a great camera, small with amazing AF capabilities (Sony A9 level). APS-C 4k video. It flips for doing selfies (which is I think their biggest market focus and not as much the vloggers market).

It's clear that Sony is going to ratchet up product announcement from least exciting to the most exciting as the year progresses.  They have said the new updated firmware for A7III/A7RIII is coming in April which might indicate the release timing of the A7Siii.  The 6400 is going to be an amazing entry-level camera for any new users that wants to step up from mobile phone or P&S or debating an interchangeable lens camera vs P&S.  Not long ago, a camera with this kind of AF speed and FPS would have cost $4-8K. It's now an entry-level camera. This will make the 6400 the gateway drug into Sony's ecosystem. Both Canon and Nikon are now forced to react and up their games to acquire new users.

So yes, the 6400 is not a "turkey" but a good product-market strategy and Sony has given this a lot more thought than you give them credit. Both Canon's and Nikon's APS-C future mirrorless offering at the sub $1000 market will be compared against the 6400.

It is not a camera meant for us. But it sure is a camera you would want to give to your wife, girlfriend, children to take Photos and Video that are actually in Focus. Who doesn't want that. And Sony is Finally doing a half decent touchscreen, Yea, and a touch screen you can use in multiple positions. I think Sony has done some head scratching and come up with a fairly cheap, small, light, reasonable solution on the low end of their market. Like it or not I bet it will be a pretty big hit for them.
