That's awesome. 60P 10 bit is really great. 1080 @240 is also great.
Since this is a new different sensor, having Phase Detection AF would be EVEN more great. I am not buying it without that, even if it would do 4K10bit @ 240p (well ok I would...)

webrunner5 reacted to mercer in Fuji X-H1: new APSC video oriented camera
There’s a line from the classic baseball film, Bull Durham. In this particular scene, the veteran player on the team, Kevin Costner, is trying to convince the up and coming pitcher, Tim Robbins, that he needs to take his talent more seriously. Tim Robbins replies... “I have a Porsche with a Quadraphonic Blaupunkt.” Kevin Costner calmly states... “You don’t need a Quadraphonic Blaupunkt, you need a curve ball.”
So as much as I see the positives in the GH5 and am constantly surprised by how many damn features the camera has... I wouldn’t need half of them, or more. If I was going to shoot small sensor, I’d rather shoot with some form of S16 digital sensor... be it with a BlackMagic or with a 1” sensor bridge camera.
So everybody has different needs and wants.

webrunner5 reacted to Cinegain in Fuji X-H1: new APSC video oriented camera
He has the X-T2... I just see it as someone really appreciating the thought that went into the GH5, like to me both it and the E-M1 Mark II are how you do a camera body, there's really not much else to wish for. In terms of features, the GH5 is killing it as well. On paper it's one of the most well-rounded cameras out there. In the end everyone is right, though, so no need to argue. Different folks, different strokes. Priorities, needs, wants, stuff you're willing to compromise on for the sake of something else. In the end the most important thing is that you've got a camera, that doesn't stand in your way of creating, with emphasis on 'your'. If you're loving the process and results, it's all good.

He explains it better than I can. I agree, think I would go with the inter.

webrunner5 reacted to Don Kotlos in “The Middle Path”: A Lumix GH5s Short
Not necessarily.
From what I have seen there is little difference between 4K 24p 10bit 150 inter vs 400 intra. At 60p the difference will be even smaller.

You guys need to go back and look at Lukes's "Best VLOG Ever" videos on Youtube starting in November. I cannot be sure of this, but I believe the night footage filmed in "Strange Battlefronts 2" could very well be footage from the new camera. At the beginning of the "V-Log" Luke unboxes a classified piece of equipment and later goes out for a night drive with his wife.
I believe this is sample footage from the new camera. I seriously doubt it's the same sensor as the GH5. You guys are barking up the wrong tree.
I'll bet my bottom dollar, it's a low-resolution sensor similar to what Sony has with the A7S2. And not only better low-light capability but better dynamic range and highlight roll-off.
Check out the video here.
Here is a frame grab:

webrunner5 got a reaction from Calum MacPhail in Opinions on short film visually
I really liked it. I think the coloring fit the movie quite well. Cuts were done on the most part cleanly. I think you did a great overall job. I see little I would change. Good story to boot.

webrunner5 reacted to zerocool22 in ARRI Alexa cheap enough to own now?
Ha crazy times, glad I didnt pay 20000€ last year for one
I am sticking with the ursa mini pro for a while. Mainly grip(gimbal/glidecam) for me is the problem with the Alexa, as with the ursa mini pro it is not. And the Alexa mini's are still hella expensive. But I found this video online, seems the ump is still best bang for buck.

webrunner5 reacted to Calum MacPhail in Opinions on short film visually
Hey people,
I've just completed a no budget short sci-fi film and wondered if I could get some opinions on it visually.
I shot this on the Samsung NX1 (my first project on the camera) and certainly ran up against some of its limitations, like low light performance.
Anyway, I've never been particularly happy with my own colour grading, maybe its just me being too harsh on myself as I know many of us are a bit self deprecating creatively.
i'd be really interested to hear any comments or criticism people may have about the project.
Thanks in advance for anyone that replies.
Cheers,
Calum

webrunner5 reacted to fuzzynormal in Where you hoping "Nightcrawler" was just a work of fiction?
Well, let's not to say the overarching concept is worthless. Perhaps it's poorly made in this instance, but a delve into the darker tendencies of human psyche is often compelling, obviously. Most motion picture entertainment in general is ultimately about "man's inhumanity to man."
