I agree, but the C100 was just a Lot more portable and ended up being the documentary king. The F3 was a studio camera. Canon sold one hell of a lot more C100's than Sony ever did F3's. A C100 with DPAF is worth twice what a F3 is even today on average. 
I don't think a person can go wrong with either, it depends on what your Jandra is more than anything.

Yeah, I am a Boomer, but I have seen a total shift in my lifetime to this world being a total shitshow now. It is not just in this country alone. 50 years ago the world seemed pretty fair, well not if you were in sub-Sharahna Africa, but now we All seem to be in sub-Sharahna Africa mode if you are not in the top 10%. And the trend even has a worse outlook forward. It isn't looking good boys and girls. Right now a heck of a lot people that are young wished they had been a Boomer. It was a great ride.

Overall nicely done but I could have lived without the pulsing lights.

That footage looks almost too good to be true. I must admit I never heard of that mod, but I was using ENG cameras at the time, so off my Radar. Just goes to prove how good Raw footage really is. Speaking about Raw footage, My son just got a Canon 5D mk III. Has shoot a little with ML on it yesterday. He was impressed to say the least. Have not been down to his house to see it.

Well there is no doubt that CCD sensors look Way better than Bayer ones do. Until recently all MF cameras used CCD 's in them. But they sucked at high ISO at the time. All the Kodak DSC series Photo cameras had CCD sensors in them. Heck the original Olympus E1 which was just beautiful looking output photo wise, used a CCD sensor.

This video was interesting I watched today. Red Scarlet versus the Pocket 6K.  I didn't realize you could buy a Red that cheap. Damn good looking footage out of it. Kills the 6K.

I always laugh when they want you to buy a 2500 dollar camera and they show the results using 100,000 dollars of shit and a crew of 10 to get the shot.

A $1000.00 for me in retirement, or anyone not making a living doing this stuff is a bridge too far. High end lenses are a hard sell for non pros. Sure if you are going to stay on that platform for years and years but thigs are moving Way too fast to stick to one brand now. There is just a lot of great stuff out now. Heck look how cheap the Sony A7 IV is. And that is a pretty amazing camera for the money.

Well, you know I am all eyes and ears for Smartphone stuff. What amazes me is how on an iPhone especially right out of camera is really about as good as you are going to get for the average person other than DoF  stuff from a real camera and even that on my new OnePlus 9 Pro is not even bad.  They have the HDR, AI, Computational stuff Really down pat on them. The video side is amazing also. And sure, it is not great blown up to big sizes but who even does that anymore.
But yes, this raw stuff is really getting good and interesting. It is certainly the future for new people getting into all this stuff. going to be even more Super exciting down the road.

Red has just been a shit about the patent. They in this day and age could have ignored enforcing it through the legal channels and at least just have licensed it. But no, they have to curtail everyone who even wants to advance raw and bust everyone's balls over it. That shows me they are either evil as shit or SUPER concerned their product is really not that special, probably both apply.

Apparently they say it is usually the ribbon cable that goes bad. Probably not the easiest thing to replace.

I don't think there is any phone that does Prores and Raw. The Apple iPhone 13 Pro does Prores at these rates.

Yeah, but MotionCam does really not work very well at all on Sony phones and not great using Samsung phones either. So, like the video says other apps work out better. And if you have a really old phone probably none of the apps work. It takes a lot of horsepower for some of the apps to work.

But this video with 3 different cameras show maybe Filmic Pro might be a better option than MotionCam on different phones.
 

You need to go with an Android phone to get the best results., Very little of all of the "aftermarket" apps or programs work on an iPhone. Raw is really the way to go if you want a lot of control. Be even some Android phones don't work well. Sony phones and some Samsung phones are not the thing to have. Some older 150 dollar ones work pretty well surprisingly, but the later models are best.

I had one a long time ago. I did a test with it that was actually featured in a blog post here, though I can't find the link. I found this lens to be terribly soft until f5.6 or so. Mine had the crazy "cleaning marks" on the front element, and I actually spent way too much money sending it off to have the front element resurfaced (and recoated? I can't remember). Which did not help at all. I did some tests with it after I got it back and sold it shortly afterwards.
