This one doesnt looks pretty good. And the first frame from Steven Soderbergh looks also pretty good.
(Allthough all previous video's did look kinda underwhelming, so it might not be all that bad, but I guess skintones will be quite easy on this camera)

Considering our (polish) median income it'd take me over 60 years to EARN 700K, let alone save that amount of cash.

    Thanks for sharing, @Anaconda_.
    This looks really good, actually!

I recently watched this film, and thought it was fantastic. Story really is everything.
It's the writer/director's debut, he saved up $700k from doing commercial work to self-fund it. Filmed in just 4 weeks with only 5 characters. The cinematography is excellent and I've never seen some of the techniques before. I'm usually a 'show don't tell' kind of guy, but with this, I was so happy it's more like a story in realtime. The characters are interesting and engaging and it takes you far beyond the 1950s small town backdrop.

I have not, will check them out.
Well I was hooked on the trailer for the cinematography, so this might be the case here.

By B-roll I mean the the shots where there are no actors involved, like following a part of a train, or a piece of car. There is a lot of voice over on this movie and it is always on those parts. Yeah I need to finish it, its good news that the first half is meant to be incoherent, maybe I will like it better by the end. (I think I was at the part where he was lost in the cave, with the ping pong battle, which was quite weird as well, and not sure why the film needed these scenes).

Started watching long days journey into night yesterday, did not finish yet. But I expected more though. I like the long one angle camera scenes, but there are far too many long B-roll shots with an voice over(which comes across a bit lazy) and I feel a lot of scenes could have been cut entirenly(or maybe im not far enough into the story to understand). But the film is not an easy sit through as I was confused a couple of times, but not the kind of confusion memento gives for example. But great cinematography and the cast is great also, this kind of filmmaking does require a cast that can hold its own, but I guess I am a bit lost at the storytelling itself.

You could check "Too Old to Die Young" which has similar long shots, but was for me anyways an easy sit through.
I also like what the safdie brothers are doing. (good time, uncut gems) They have this raw energy thing going for them.

Yes sure I blame them, why wouldn't I? With great power comes great responsibility. If you have a monopoly over the internet you should do your best not to abuse it for the bottom line at every opportunity.

And here I am, in my early twenties - so I'm technically a millennial / Generation Y - with my my strong preference towards written word.
I deeply hate the fact that people nowadays tend to turn their blogs into vlogs, etc.
For me, having to go to YouTube for a piece of information that could be put clearly in two or three sentences is one of the plagues of 21st century.
I understand that our hobby - cameras and stuff related to them - is a visual hobby and words can't always be used to show what we mean or to share what we managed to create using our babies.
Nonetheless, I think that over 30% of YouTube content could easily be transcribed and deprived of audio-visual stimuli and we, as viewers, would only gain from it.
It's just terribly tiring, how much shit, unneeded clutter there is to almost everything.
You could say that you save your time, because there are no ads per se, but the amount of in-video marketing and advertising, etc. is terrifying.

But still, not every channel is like this and, surely, there are some that are really worth being subscribed to.
The amount of knowledge that can be found on YT (if you know what you're looking for) is invaluable and often can't be put into words that easily.

It's a tough nut to crack.

I will have to push on with my YouTube channel double-quick pace. Really enjoyed doing the first video.
However, I fear the written word is dead and here's why.

Look how much space YouTube takes up on a typical Google search and how far it pushes the first result down the page for EOSHD.
The first result for "Iscorama GH5" is this forum. But it's barely noticeable with all the YouTube videos.
YouTube is a Google service and this is an abuse of a monopoly plain and simple and they should be taken to court.

The other thing I thought was strange in the video is when he says that people put stockings over the end of the lens, but I thought they put the mesh filters between the lens and the sensor, so at the inner end of the lens.  I wonder if that has an impact on the effect.  He also put a stocking and then complained that the effect was too strong, but there are many meshes available that wouldn't have so much coverage and therefore wouldn't be as strong.  Lots of stuff online about different meshes and their effects.

It depends. The Vimeo network is really good. I’ve connected with a lot of really interesting and talented people through Vimeo. I’m sure people could say the same about YouTube.
The player / embed also looks way more professional on a website.
I’ve always had really nice luck with the quality of their player. ProRes LT uploaded to their site handles film grain wonderfully. I never see macro blocking like I do on YouTube.

Have you ever heard of the HTML <video> tag? The times where you had to embed players (back in the days, via Adobe Flash) are gone for 10 years now.
What exactly is the "video player issue and the standard on page display issue"?
I tell you what: they don't exist, and you're just making up nonsense, like you always do here, because you are a full of shit.
"I build and maintain a lot of wordpress sites" - yes, and you also hire and direct DPs from Disney and have internal connections to Canon, among many other things that you wrote here before.
Your postings are not only bullshit, they poison this forum (and people looking for advice) with wrong information.
