I feel you. @kye I would love my G3 to be a G6. When I still had the GF1 it was the same obsessive wish.😊 Video is on all auto though and brittle on the G3, Gf1 only offering 1080i i think. You could try a GM1 or GM5, both sporting great HD. The 24p HD on the GM5 is stellar, just as good as the G6 with nicer color science ooc. GM5 does 50p as well. Haven't tested it yet though.

Mavo LF has a faster readout, downsampled 4K 16 to 9 with 16ms. It allows 75fps at 6016x2520 according to slashcam. Prores 4444 is a joy to grade from my experience.

Talking about the AF100 is fun though. @webrunner5 still has one. But he might get worried about the latest hot trend of interactions on our beloved forum, whereas interaction would be a bit of an euphemistic term.:) Nanoflash on the F3 has brought 8bit 150mbps to the table but no real world benefit over internal regarding several accounts. At least AF100 and external recording with nano flash was tested and approved by the makers of The Raid and I don't have my own experience to question their decision over internal AVCHD. Would love to rewatch it on Bluray.

None. Closest would be a 10bit Shlony apsc. So again, 10bit HLG GX camera with 4K from full sensor and perfect HD quality for the launch price of the GX85, 799 Usd, 699 Euro. Please 😊

Use your nano flash. It was used on one of the best martial arts films of the last decade. AF100 at its best. AF 100 spits out 8bit 422 only afaik, AF100A supposely 9bit. CineD would already be tuned to sensors max dynamic range. That camera has mojo for sure. Friend of mine is doing some magical stuff with it. That coming from a nerds perspective of course. Established camera pros in the narrative field don't talk this kinda talk, as they don't have time or interest in debating 8bit niche cameras of the past. But I always love to. Internal Cinealta F3 might smoke external AF100 though in tech specs and quality but AF certainly has its own mojo beyond that.

Never had an EP7 but it seems pretty nice. GX85 has the perfect form factor and usuability for me. Crop in 4K allows me to use some super fun C mount lenses, as it's between S16 and mft size sensor. Used ones go for around 250 Euro. Hard to beat quality vs price ratio. GX800 manual mode for 25p sounds indeed fiddly. I would have to try it out myself but then I would just rather take my GX85. 😊

BMD did a great job with the footage for their new FF camera. ARRI used to have some pretty unthrilling footage on their website btw. Mavo LF I only know from a no budget feature. The camera safed the visual quality for this one. No other camera other than an Alexa would have passed that test imho. Don't know how reliable it is though. Mavo 35 had complete opposite tint from my experience. So, an akward camera family for sure. Would be awesome if latitude, dynamic range, color fidelity are close enough to the Mavo LF.

Mavo LF is a beautiful image taker. Talking even about version 1. If this camera is in the same league I would be very impressed. But it seems it's Bmpcc 6K territory, which is nice but doesn't sing to me like Mavo LF footage. Samples from BM website look great though. But they are always providing great and well shot footage from their cameras.

Gx800 and Gf7 have all auto only in video iirc. So I would suggest GX85 as an answer if we are talking about a mature video mode .

You can adapt various mounts to EF, such as Pentax, Nikon F, M42 and Yashica Contax. The latter youn cannot adapt to Nikon as the flange distance is larger. Nikon F has one of the largest if not the largest flange distance of any 135 film cameras. You can adapt Nikon lenses to EF but not the other way around. See flange distance on wikipedia as it lists the different mounts and flange distances. The you can check if adapters for different combinations of mounts are available.

The Bmcc booster is specifically suited to the sensor. Printed letters on the shell are indeed bmcc. There is another 0.64 booster without this specific bmcc lettering for the Lumix GH line besides a similar 0.71 model. Contax to EF adapter and you are set. Had been using ef to contax. Just test out some of these very affordable adapters. How have you been using your Yashica ML lenses, with an ef to mft adapter?

But haven't you been handling speedboosters a lot before? Have you settled for Zeiss or Yashica ML?

This thread is bloated like a thread about the perfect camera. It is one with some of the most narcistic tone i have ever read, from all sides. After all AI is one of the most narcistic enterprises due to being in the hands of people with an obsession for imperial power over markets and our world. We seem like people with ten cameras not filming anything they want to share in a whole year. No more rough and ready sketches. I prefer seeing that over perfectly polished generic "content". Still, there is a very intense misantrophic spirit in this whole affair, a triumphant attitude. It's a threat, that Ai is ultimately an instrument to dumbening and controling and ruling over people and exploiting and killing them, if convinient to do so. If it's turning into a triumphator over people, then only because we allow it to happen. Art it is not. The "mechanics" of cognition are completely different. Art is indeed connected to human cognition. Anything else is just a mimicry. Some people allow themselves to accept that as art though it beeing only artificial, mimicing art.
