  1. I am always fond of what people are able to achieve with older 8bit pro and consumer tech. I am especially fond of seeing what the original Dslr/m artists are able to achieve. I don't want to get into fanboyism, but your Berlin piece with the GH4 is one of my all time favorite vignettes, pacing, color, light, framing... Btw, great writeup, Andrew!๐Ÿ˜Š
  2. I have way too much stuff. Now, that ebay sucks big time, I wish myself good luck selling stuff. OG pocket will stay with me, that's for sure, Bmmcc maybe. Haven't even tested my 5D2, 5D3 nor Eos M for their magic lantern magic, F3 for some shots of leaves in the wind.๐Ÿ˜‚ But that's besides the point of the topic of this thread.:) F3 external should do it for me in the image department, so do the og pocket and the Bmmcc.
  3. I've seen pro documentary work shot with the A7IV. I was amazed to hear from the DP it was the humble Dslm when I asked, if a FX6 was used. Color grading was pro too though. I was very surprised. It really looked high end. Rolling shutter on paper is pretty awful though. That's a lot of sweeties and old computer stuff you must have enjoyed so much! Right on!:) @Andrew Reid On a side note, youtube and forum wisdom told me S1 and S1H provide a great image. While I am impressed with both, regarding absence of mush, dynamic range and robust codec, I did not fall in love with the color I was able to get out of it. It's perfectly fine but it's not exiting me under natural light conditions. So the different sensor in the A7IV might indeed be worth a look. I also liked the A7SIII when I had to color grade it.
  4. DVX1 still the queen of the bunch regarding body design and imager. Sorry, I have to say so.:) I once had filmed with a DVX100 before, a black or grey one. I really wanted it to be a DVX1:) Thank you very much! @Andrew Reid I wished this thing was progressive 720x576. So does 720 x 576i translate to 720 x 288p resolution, giving half the resolution of the y-axis?
  5. In my eyes this and the skating video show the most convincing image quality of any DSLM. These and some Z8 and Z9 stuff. And that by far. Kinda looks like a 6K/4K version of the image coming from a BMMCC or og BMPCC. I'm impressed!
  6. This is THE legendary DV camera of 90ies Germany imo. It had the nick name "queen of the night", not in English though but in German, of course. To me one of the most attractive and fun camera designs. No progressive mode but 3CCD color magic and beautiful color palette, no fire wire unfortunately. Using a dv player or another camera is a workaround. Congrats to your purchase, Andrew. A friend of mine is still owning one. Some of the footage in this video, mostly leaves and flares were shot with it. I had posted this video before:)
  7. Lovely last set and compositions! @kyeWouldn't mind to have these framed on my walls. Did you film prores or raw? Looking fabulous! Somehow I feel that I like the image from my og pocket even better than with my m2k. I filmed with the micro last week and it felt not quiet as beautiful as the footage i got with the p2k a couple weeks ago. That's related to daylight scenes though. Darn, it seems I belong to that group of 0.1% of people who see that difference. Welcome to this forum as @BTM_Pix would say!:) My M2K has the rawlite oplf/ir cut, whereas my pocket doesn't. It didn't bother me as I didn't have to film finest patterns or akward shirts. An og pocket with good battery, no overheating 1080p 50p would be my favorite personal camera. Go, BM Design!:)
  8. Will be using mine tomorrow, not my p2k but the micro again. It has been a year or so since the last time. I'm charging batteries and cleaning lenses right now, a bit late to the party, silly me.๐Ÿ˜Š Exited to see more from you and to read about your adventures! @kye What lens did you use at the tea museum, the 12-35? I am wondering if @mercer has rebought a m2k again. Does @TomTheDPplay around with one or is the Alexa his only dual gain baby? What I absolutely love about the og pocket and the micro are textures, motion and highlight rolloff. Just sayin.๐Ÿ˜Š
  9. Laowa 7.5mm for even wider if you have your camera has a mft mount, of course.
  10. Colors and textures smoke the S line cameras imho under ambient and natural light. Great stills! @kye So cool and really worth it that you brought your little cinema camera with you! I bet you are having tons of fun with your footage. I still got 4 hours of Bmpcc clips from this summer to go through. It's an honest low light camera, giving you what the eye can see btw.
  11. It's a pity they never made a 3CCD camcorder in the DVX/HPX body with true full HD resolution. The Pixel Shift tech on the Hpx170/150 and HVX200 gives an impression of some texture related oddities as far as i can tell from the footage, which is available online. DVX100 Andromeda sports some beautiful 720p on the other hand. Would be so cool if the two masterminds behind it would make the tech transparent, so people could pimp their DVX diy into andromeda prowess.
  12. It seems I was wrong and Inland Empire was not shot with a DVX100 but with a PD150. @Al Dolega I've been thinking about the HPX170 as a valid alternative for the mysterious and ultra rare DVX100 Andromeda. With 3 CCDs, 720p, 8bit 422, 100mbit to P2 cards, what's not to like. But first I gotta get rid of some of my stuff, cupboards clearout. ๐Ÿ™‚
  13. I love the look of my LX10 in 4k at f2.8 and a 2/3" gate, giving an equivalent Dof of F8 in S35. Welcome to the camp:)
  14. True beauty, just like its older sister, the queen of the night, the NV DX1. @BTM_Pix The latter didnt have a progressive mode yet nor optional 16 to 9 letterbox. Still gotta watch "Inland Empire". Gonna have blast.
  15. GX85 or LX10, also GH5 would show mush whereas the M2K produces a believeable low light image. Nice shots. Thanks for posting. Enjoy your trip. We will enjoy your findings and footage you might share.:) @kye
  16. I can relate to that. My best videos have been with less. Iยดve seen people on the web shoot better stuff with an EX1 than with a Sony A7S3 on youtube (Phil Bloom fi:)
  17. A 1080 Ti is already giving 25% performance increase standing only 10% below a 2080. Having 11GB Ram doesn't hurt neither, which are 3GB well above the recommended 8GB minimum for 4K video. So either a 1080Ti on the very cheap, a much newer 3070 or a huge boost with a RTX3080 or 4070 would be my recommendations.

    Lumix S9

You are really someone!๐Ÿ˜‚ @MrSMWAnd I mean it in a good way only. You really give good reasons for pride of ownership when it comes to the S1H. I really marvel over mine. Love the built, ergos, look. When it was was used as a BCam with an Amira, it kinda seemed people were snobbish towards it but I was wrong. It is of course no Alev3 beast but a rock solid cinema BCam or even ACam good enogh for a Cannes nomination, rock solid. S9 with hotshoe, EVF and mechanical shutter would tempt me though. I am happy that I can resist rather effortlessly due to the lack of these. But it is really close for me to be the perfect pocket camera. Oh, no true F2.8 AF pancakes nor any besides the 28mm F8 is still a bummer of course.
  19. As long as one puts some time into grading, this is not only super fun but also a little pocket cinema camera, taking beautiful images.
  20. Some anamorphic goodness. Splendid shortfilm with jojo players performing and offscreen statements about their art and what it means to them in living their lifes. I found the bts on youtube which linked to the actual video. Filmed in HD 240fps with a 20mm Laowa Nanomorph, in Arri C.
  21. The new raw like 4k looks interesting. So far i like the Z6iii launch film about the longboarder the best, with great motion and fantastic color. DR might be one stop less, but latitude might still be a winner. For video the Z6iii seems the one to beat, for hybrid use it's the Z8 obviously. Canon R5 shooters will enjoy the release of the R5II, I am sure. If the image is as beautiful as from the C500 MKII, it will be a compelling choice for many pros with a passion for a big screen quality image. IF.
  22. Wow. That's a steal for a great camera.
  23. I would not want to get filmed by a phone and fed into a data munching cloud or phone os. I wouldnยดt mind to get filmed by some GH2 afficiandos though. If with a Voigt 17/25mm, anytime, handsdown. And after that some nice nerdy lens talk with my peer.:)
  24. Iยดve been using my BMPCC again the last couple days. Yesterday I could hardly see anything when I was filming outside under the bright summer sun. But I still managed to grab some beautiful shots. It would be my dream pocket camera with good battery life and screen. That and with 2.5K 60p plus full Hdmi and it would be my dream cinema camera perse. The image quality is just so much fun to work with and so is the challenge of non nonsense no ibis operation. Make it a 3K camera. 3K sounds cool and makes it great to be distinguished from the ordinary 4K crowd. From my experience the camera does not only shut off because off an empty battery but also due to overheating under even mild conditions. A Fairchild Pocket 3K with 60p, good battery life and screen, how cool would that be! What a cool name, Fairchild 3K! ๐Ÿ™‚ In my bag this weekend are my Bmpcc with a 25mm and my Panny LX15. I would add the 14mm plus Vari ND.
