I was on a construction site shoot this weekend where a perfect shot materialized suddenly after we had just packed up the camera for the day. I pulled out my iPhone 6s and recorded it in 4k 100mpbs with Filmic Pro. Add a little simulated motion blur in after effects and you are golden. I've cut in filmic pro iphone footage to videos before and no one has ever noticed. Great iPhone gimbals are $130 now. These kinds of situations are where I see a phone being useful for filmmaking.

BMD fixed the white orbs and black hole in the BMPCC in what, less than two weeks.

Pansony, Canikon and Fuji could learns something here imo.
 

IIRC Blackmagic never fixed it for the original BMCC though. I remember having to after-effects out sunspots :-D

It'll be great if you look at your current cell phone and say to yourself "this needs more screws and vents." 

Are you guys seeing the moire on the couch on this A99 II footage also? It's at 10 seconds in.

I love my X-T2. I've only had it for about a month and used it mainly for stills so far. Planning on doing more video soon. I carefully chose my lenses around their IS zooms for video use and their weather-sealed primes for photo. Here's a couple shots I got in Hollywood. 

Aren't they deactivating the Hubble space telescope soon? Maybe you can get a good deal on it. 

If you want to breathe major new life into your 7D, look for a used Mosaic aliasing filter on eBay. It will also sweeten 7D raw in a big way. 

I'd love if this had an even slower mode for more cinematic zooms. 

Test many cameras by all means. Don't let the site be a grand rationalization for Gear Acquisition Syndrome though. It's unprofessional.

They want new technology right away, but when Sony releases a new camera too soon, they think theirs just became obsolete and hate Sony for it. In the mean time they blame Canon for holding off. I think anyone who buys this camera definitely won't be disappointed. I say this as a former C100 MII owner. Just be aware of the size and weight. If you are doing casual weekend travel projects you should stick with the DSLR form factor. 

The NX looks oversharpened to me. Cell phone-esque. 

If the paying job is a wedding, I think the Mavic will be more than fine. If the paying job is a Netflix show, well maybe not. Although I see plenty of last-gen 2/3" sensor drone footage on reality TV. It looks fine. The Blue House guy's mavic footage looks a million times better.

I don't think it's worse than the a6300, and I may have just noticed it way more because I was filming fast-moving cars with a 100-400.

I've been using 5DIVs where I work and just shot a rallycross race last week with them. The touchscreen and DPAF is great, and so is the 1080p 60. The rolling shutter in 4k is baaaaad though, especially for something with fast action like a car race. The 4k crop does come in handy when you need reach.

Can I ask about focus lock on/off in video mode? Does the X-T2 let you push the AF-Lock button to toggle this? So you can kind of do an electronic focus pull. 

Maybe buy a couple of their weather-sealed primes? 

It grades really well. First one is an M31 LUT and the second one is a a straight curve in colorista. 

Don't you find the huge 7 inch monitor a bit unwieldy to mount with a mirrorless camera like the X-T2? I was looking at the 5" SoundDevices recorder because of this.
