They are different things.
The cheaper, the sharper ,the easy way is cropping.
Real anamorphic give others things that a few crazy people loves.
Its just  Aesthetic preferences.
 

What you get with anamorphic is : 
- FLARES, Oval Bokeh, and all the things that are specific to anamorphic adapters
- Increased seen vertical resolution (compared to just cropping)
Some anamorphic lenses are damn sharp and not prone to flare if you're not into that. (Look at the Ultrastars, Cinelux and other coated modern adaptors)

I used to shoot with FD50mm+ Speedbooster and get no vignette.
But same configuration plus Rangefinder and I get a light vignette in corners.
My helios 44-2 (58mm) dont vignette, but cant get perfect infinity focus with kowa 16H wich is esential for the rangefinder to work.

don't assure me, i have a few adapters from Raf, i also have 6 adapters from Redstan, never a problem;
anyways, this looks more like a personal vendetta then a honest unbiased opinion,
not nice tweak.

I think Panasonic could/should change the focussing for video. In photo mode a little focus wiggle at the end is fine. But for video I think with the DFD they should skip the focus confirmation rocking. This is so distracting. Without this confirmation focus racking at the end I think with DFD the camera would be most of the time in focus. If it is not in focus the continues DFD AF 's second metering should be bang on because the focus is already close to where it needs to be. This all I think is a matter of software/ firmware, or am I thinking to simply?

Drop a smidgen of warp stabilizer on top and you're good to go, I'd say. This is the best thing in their current line-up (unless you're more geared towards photography, then the GX8 has some features that might make that one more interesting). Of course, the GH4 has its use and the GH5 is going one step further yet, if not an entire leap and both bring those video production qualities to the table. But the GH5 is going to be double the price and take another half a year...
Don't get why hardly anybody seems excited about this one. Everybody seems to either drop specs for the ease of use of the Canon (dualpixel AF & color) or actually go for the more exciting specs (Sony) and 'just deal with it'. Unless they're going more pro/expensive (Blackmagic, Sony F, etc) or for the stills side of things (1DXII, D750, X-T2, etc) or clinging onto something older that's being looked after (NX1 hacks, ML with the 5DmkIII). Everybody was pretty serious about using a GH2, GH3, GX7, G6, GH4, G7... I guess the landscape has changed. In the beginning it was just the 5DmkII, T2i/550D and GH2, which naturally evolved. But where does that leave Panasonic in the current market? Is its major target now people entering the video segment, rather than those who are already? People on a budget? Aren't there more people who just like to shoot video and like the possibility of just having something really basic and compact to carry around? Is bigger better? I know there's still a few who like the M4/3 system and give Panasonic some love for what they do... but it feels like it's getting slowly getting less, even though their cameras do keep improving.

Aren't those features inherited from new G80?
If i buy G80, can i expect a further update with some of the GH5 flavour?

77mm rear screw and Focus distances marks on the barrel vs 72mm screw and no marks on the barrel.
Same optics and same "blue pokemons" everywhere it flares.
Gotta catch 'em all!

I have been waiting for the GH5 for months, and there is no way I will get a M43 for $2,500, I'll pick up a Sony A6300, a GX85 or a canon XC10, the price should stay around $1,500 or going other route, and I am sure many will do the same

I made a video in this style. Definitely not as good as the Watchtower of Turkey, but I'm pretty proud of it. What do you guys think?

With the hoop, It is one node making the difference with an almost inverted S Curve. Then putting that layer in layer mode Hard Light in the edit section of Davinci.
To make the hula hoop more intense in its luminousity I stapled the same layer on top of one another, four times.
I remember your 35-70 video, had super beautiful greens in it:)
Have four FDs, the 50mm 1.4 I almost never used, 28mm most of the time, got a 20mm 2.8 like brandnew. Still hestitating to use that beauty cuz of possible scratches.
I know it is silly to feel like that:) Oh, and a beautiful, beautiful 28-85mm F4 from Tokina- Andy Lee tip, read about it, bought it.

Just wanted to say I'm proud of everyone coming together to help out three members here get on their way to get their money back.
It was an intense few days or so.  But this really, in a dorky way, felt like a real community.  A weird meta one, since none of us know each other in the real world, except for me and Mr. Coffee after a great skype interview session.
Now I am crying.
