  1. Nikkor, I own the Mir 24n 35mm. It's an excellent lens for video, very creamy look and long smooth focus ring. Also like Bioskop.Inc states it focuses so close it is practically a macro. If your looking for something in the Zeiss league you should look into the voigtlander lenses, I own the the 28mm, 40mm, and 90mm and they are all very sharp with great colors and rendering and small. I have a D750, i'll throw up a Mir 24n test with in up in the next couple of days.
  2. While it won't replace traditional cinema cameras, this could easily replace green screen. Perfect keys without having to worry about a large green backdrop? A compositors dream. Look for this to be used heavily in VFX.
  3. Also if you care about wide open performance, just start collecting Samyang primes.
  4. If you can deal with the focus direction, NIkon. They can be adapted to almost anything and boost well.
  5. Why don't you just use your original NX1 file in premiere?
  6. I've been shooting 16-235. Don't feel like changing the values on every clip when I bring it in to Premiere. Annoying as hell. I've seen very little benefit to doing so, in fact I've seen more banding in 0-255 footage.

Had no idea vimeo accepted H265 uploads, will experiment with that and see if I can get better quality.

    1) Looks better than the grain, detail, and color killing youtube. 2) You can download your original files on vimeo, not just the re compressed ones. 3) To get higher than 720p you have to go fullscreen.
  9. I didn't mean to say that the hack doesn't increase detail, which you show it does. Just that my test, that was mainly done for testing the anamorphic combination wide open, does not show off this aspect of the codec improvements.
  10. Quick test, does not show off fine detail at all, but I do think motion is improved. Forgive my look, I've been very very sick the last couple of days.
  11. Yeah that is gorgeous, and the rolling shutter is not bad, seems a little better than A7s and NX1. That + raw I imagine will be very impressive. Also who knows, maybe they improved the RS on this chip.
  12. Yup looks gorgeous, looks like the entire trailer was shot in this format. Especially the two shots of Donny Yen have a very strong amount of subject separation.
  13. Wow. Can't wait to see it in action. Shoots to Cfast. http://photorumors.com/2016/04/07/two-hasselblad-h6d-medium-format-cameras-announced-h6d-50c-h6d-100c-with-4k-video/
  14. Budget? I've seen a couple features shot on the C100 for low budget work, it's plenty good enough. Also the turn around is very quick and it's easy to grade. Pair that with a Ninja Blade or the Video Assist and you should be golden.
  15. Pretty cool look kidzrevil. Not to my taste but good edit. Here is a little less custom setup. 2 NX1's and a D750. The close up stage left is with the D750 and the wide and handheld are NX1's. Shot in 4K on the NX1's with the Normal gamma vivid setting with +4 Black level. Audio was off the sound board into the wide shot NX1.

Yes keep it at 4K, I don't even think vimeo accepts 6K uploads anyway. You would be better off just upping the bitrate, but diminishing returns will start really quick. There is no advantage to uploading 1080p footage in 4K that I have found. It just wastes space on your account. The 1440p upload vs the 4K upload will be indistinguishable when played back at 1080p.

Yes 2560x1440. Hope that works for you.

Start with vimeo 1080p preset then: Export in 1440p CBR at 90 mbps for 1080p On 4K export 120 mbps CBR. This is a 1080p that I upscaled to 1440p for vimeo.
  19. I run windows 10 and have had nothing but improvements in Adobe over my Windows 8.1 install. I use 4K ProRes files and have had no problems playing them back and editing them. I have almost the exact same setup, including that CPU OC'd to 4.5, except I'm using 32gb of RAM and 2 GTX 960's in SLI. You should have no trouble running overlay-ed 4K footage with this setup. My only recommendation is with the GPU either: 1) Save $300 and buy the GTX 980 Ti for similar performance, the 12gb RAM in the Titan X is best utilized in Adobe After Effects, up to you if this is worth it. 2) Wait and see what Nvidia announces today, their new GPU is rumored to have much better compute performance. http://wccftech.com/wtach-nvidias-gtc-2016-live-webcast-pascal-dx12-vr-gameworks/ 3) Get a Titan X and be happy.
  20. Buy as powerful a GPU as you can afford. Huge performance increase. If it doesn't give you one just return it. Also open system moniter and see how all your stuff is performing, perhaps your bottleneck is elsewhere.
  21. Tommix. It's cool that your really interested in the hacking project, just like everyone else in this forum. But knock off the attitude. These guys are putting in their spare time to give you extra camera features for free. Everything they do is a gift to the community, they don't owe you or me anything.
  22. The KineMAX 6K does not have ProRes. Only the JUST ANNOUNCED 6K camera does. I doubt that Kinefinity would switch from Cineform to ProRes without getting proper licensing. Considering that everything Kinefinity has ever promised they have apparently delivered on time and time again. Just because it is a Chinese company doesn't mean they indulge in seedy business practices. Personally I'm looking forward to picking up the 4K after this lowers the price of that camera. 2K cineform is plenty for me Especially with that locking Nikon mount speedbooster.
