  1. For 120 fps get the look you want in camera. The compression makes it difficult to get a good flat picture for grading. This video is my favorite settings for it.
  2. Certain florescent fixtures have issues with banding, this is not just the NX1, almost any camera at a certain shutter speed will cause these to appear.
  3. What would happen if you want to suddenly multiple photos in a row? You would have to remember it hit the specific button combo sequence before you wanted to take the photo or be forced to press the shutter twice every time you want to take a photo.
  4. Unlocked shutter would be a great thing. Mainly because I want 1/48 as an option in 24p for a true 180 shutter. 1/50 is close but not the same.
  5. Great idea! That's fantastic that it can plya back in camera. How do you determine ISO in playback? I had no I idea that was possible.
  6. THIS is what I'm talking about. I really enjoyed the grade, great work. Stuff like this, well done professional work with the camera, is what I want to see before investing.
  7. Share footage! The number one issue with these are lack of footage an video's showing professionals working with the camera.
  8. Crap, your right, that's only under auto and the preset modes :/
  9. Yeah I've loved the look of these guys and always wanted one. Their Golden 3K cineform on the 6K is my dream format to work on and it would allow me to use my Nikon glass on a native mount. Tempted to get a loan and buy two just to rent them out, no one is doing that in east coast USA and a ton of cinematographers I think would be interested in trying them out. Hopefully this new camera pushes the prices of the old one's down.
  10. Are you a shill for them? Because your post is nothing but dismissing and downplaying issues other people have with the camera. The overheating issue is a huge one, I'm not telling the talent "sorry we have to wait a couple minutes while the camera cools down to do the next take/ask the next question/start your song" or "sorry can you do that take again the camera shut off in the middle of it". The NX1 (which came out two years ago) has the same size sensor, never overheats, has better RS, a better 1080p mode, and a headphone out for monitoring audio, and can be had for about the same price. Operationally it is a far superior camera. Don't make excuses, the only reason this is a 4K camera is because someone in marketing demanded it.
  11. Yup, never had an issue with using a white card to set balance. There are settings under Kelvin to adjust the green/magenta, nudging that just one spot in either direction should fix this as the camera will no longer be guessing those values. This is just a guess though, still need to test it.
  12. Yeah unfortunately I've had this error, happens when you set kelvin value. Hasn't happen to me with any other color mode. Might try to manually adjust green/magenta tint under Kelvin and see if that fixes it.
  13. Yup I know, concert is two sections, acoustic then plugged. Each section runs about 45 minutes. Should run to an hour at worst. Want to see if they hold it together, I have 2 other cameras running so if one gives out I have backup. This is a quick test of the run through I did yesterday. Shot handheld (16-50) with internal mic.
  14. I'd say far off possibility. Not anytime soon, but not impossible. Using two NX1's going over the 30 minute limit at a live concert recording tonight, we'll see if they perform well...
  15. I love the rodelink, but others in this thread seem to be missing this stipulation. I also wish it could take two signals at once.
  16. I archive to cineform (10 bit YUV) or DNxHD. Don't archive in H264 if you want to use it in the future!
  17. Follow instructions here: http://***URL removed***/forums/post/57446101 Then while in the menu go to 4. Lens Control and hit ok -> OIS Adjustment and hit OK and it will start the calibration. When it's done hit left to exit (hitting OK will start the calibration again) Let us know if that fixes your issues!
  18. Hey guys, discovered that the OIS calibration is safe to perform in the DEV menu. Hit it accidentally when I was exploring the menus. Takes about 30 seconds to calibrate then will say "DONE!" on the screen, you have to hit left on the wheel to exit the calibration. Worked for my 16-50, did it twice and performing great. Panning performance when using it has improved slightly. So if you ever have OIS issues with the 16-50s it might be able to sort it out!
  19. Andrew, bitrate has been hacked at 2.5K by Vasile. Need him to get back to tell us the method to do so. What I'm curious about is how is the rolling shutter in that mode? 2.5K + Samsung Color + great rolling shutter performance is a dream camera.
  20. This is some absolutely beautiful work man. Great editing in the trailer as well.
  21. They added the flare purposefully, I think they should add the option to get these lenses without the flare coating on them.
  22. Actually this I agree with. That blue flare might be fine for your target audience of the SLR Anamorphot looking for the old school look but having that in $5000+ cinema glass... I put up with it on the Anamorphot, I'm angry it remains on these lenses as the only option. I wish you had the option to get them without it.
